We put in a designer's choice order recently for my mother-in-law for $80. Where we live - designer's choice tends to be a slight discount on beautiful flowers that are in season and is mutually beneficial to the florist and customer because they get to use inventory and the customer gets a beautiful arrangement at a great price. Here - it amounts to a relatively plain order that is listed on their website for less than $80 and wasn't nearly as well done. I wish we would've read the reviews before ordering because I was a bit embarrassed by the bouquet that showed up and outraged when I think about the money spent on it. I think another red flag was their designer choice bouquets don't have any example photos so we were going off similarly priced arrangements. The one positive thing I'll say is that the delivery fee is much lower than other florists I've used and so the cost of delivering flowers was reasonable but I can't help but feel like we got absolutely ripped off being overcharged for a "designer's choice" arrangement. read more

I hate writing negative reviews but I've had too many neutral to negative experiences with Guenthers. They are pretty much the sole show in town and they act like it. Most recently, I received flowers at my office. They were fine... Nothing exceptional but that is okay. Literally 2 days later, half the flowers were sagging and dried up looking. I wrote a note on the Guenthers website informing them of what happened and saying I was hoping to enjoy them for more than 2 days. Well, of course, I never heard back from them. My mother ordered a plant for me from Guenthers-Onalaska by phone. While the plant itself was fine, neither of us understand why they put it in a straw basket and put ugly silk flowers and fake grapes/berries in it. My mom had asked them to add whatever they wanted to it, not caring about the cost; she just wanted it to look very professional since it was for the reception desk in a doctors office. I received an arrangement yesterday and was disappointed to see that the roses were fully opened already and the daisies were sad looking to say the least. I took a picture of the arrangement when I got it and today the rose petals are turning brown. I called the store to inform them only to be told that I had to bring the arrangement to them for them to replace the roses.. seriously, they expect me to take off from work and go to them with a defective product that they delivered.. they have delivery vans on the road so I fail to see why they can't deliver to me.. sadly lacking in not only fresh flowers but customer service also. read more

Just abysmal customer service! Front end person refused to accept responsibility for non-delivery of a dozen roses with "same-day service" I paid for, was argumentative, condescending and totally lacking in what should be for any small local business--a can-do, 'let's make it right' attitude. I'm a small business owner in La Crosse myself, and completely understand how mistakes occasionally happen. But this business apparently could care less when things go wrong. I'm just absolutely shocked at the response I got from the front t desk when I called to simply make a rescheduled delivery. Truly appalling. read more

They have a huge variety of products. There flowers also lastest a very long time! Ill definitely go back there and only there.

Hours on the door are merely a suggestion. Stopped by after 8:30 and the door was still locked. People inside could see me at the door and did nothing to unlock it and let me in. If that is how they treat people on the outside, it can't be much better on the inside. read more

I tried to order flowers today from Guenthers and I was less than satisfied! I spoke to the person (no name given) and was put on hold. I waited for what seemed an inappropriate length of time and decided to hang-up and call back later. When I did so and was able to speak to "someone", I gave them my information and when asked whether I wanted them delivered, I proceeded to give the name and address and was told it was too far out, I can understand that but where I wanted them delivered to was less than 5 mi. away! I understand Guenthers delivers to Mayo in the downtown area of La Crosse everyday. When I tried to tell this person my location again she didn't let me finish and hung up on me! I will never go to Guenthers again for my floral needs and I think some of their personal could use some training in Business Phone Service Ettiquette ! Very rude ! read more

Disappointed! Ordered flowers a month ago for a Wednesday, December 16th delivery for a surprise 70th birthday. Flowers never arrived.. Called the shop and the order wasn't even being worked on. Many excuses were made that it wasn't the shops fault. Never make excuses or blame others in your shop! Just apologize and make it right. The bouquet was delivered the next day but the day was over. read more

If there was a way to rate a 0, I would. I have never received such terrible customer service from any other business. I had talked with three separate people during three separate phone calls and got completely different answers from each person I talked with. The first I had talked to had said that my order was on the delivery truck, the second told me it had been delievered when, in fact, it had not. The third told me that the order never even went through online! Not only was I getting different answers from everyone I was getting ATTITUDE. I work in customer service. I can understand the frustration of an angry customer. BUT you do NOT treat a customer or SPEAK to a customer the way I was spoken to. Not to mention, I had to give my name and order information THREE separate times to the last girl I spoke with. And she kept calling me "Patricia"...not my name. Needless to say, I will not be doing any more business with this company, nor will I reccomend them to anyone. If you're planning on ordering from Flowers by Guenthers be prepared for a long ride. read more
