The bunches you can buy are simple, but if you want to make up something for that special someone the staff are super helpful to combine some options for you (to suit your budget). Most importantly the flora lasts for at least 2 weeks and bunches come in brown paper packages tied up with string (these are a few of my favourite things). You can also get cute little starter gardens of lettuce and herbs here for a longer lasting present and cacti which only yours truly could kill for less than $20. They sell very beautiful flowers in the most amazing colours. I'm not a big fan or connoisseur of flowers but I can still tell when I see perfect roses or orchids. The selection is not immense as the shop is quite small, but if you're after a bouquet for a special occasion, you'll definitely find something here. There is a touch of kitsch, or should I say romance, to their shop that is reflected in the wrapping papers used for the flowers (pink, red, purple etc.) but when you look at each bouquet individually it isn't as bad. Prices start at around $30 and most bouquets costs between 50 and 100 bucks. I don't think that's cheap at all but I really don't have a clue about the cost of flowers.

The shop assistants are incredibly friendly, and very helpful with making difficult choices. When I came here with my girlfriend to buy flowers for a friend, we didn't bring too many ideas with us. The girl behind the counter gave us lots of different ideas for both the plants and their wrapping, and informed us of each kind of flower's longevity. I'll definitely be returning here to pick up something for those special occasions, and highly recommend others to do the same.

A florist just fits in so well here. My eye was caught by a set up in the middle of the Arcade. Some beautiful live plants, terrariums, moth orchids and wood. I feel like this style is very much in fashion at the moment. Kind of that earthy green forest feel. Very fresh looking. The set up in the store is simple and clean. Each species is presented in beautiful displays in large metal pales. The colour scheme and flowers chosen here are of the more classy varieties. White roses, black roses, and green foliage. This isn't a rainbow flower kind of store. Unfortunately I caught her low on stock on my visit, so I could not see the whole store full. But, if what she had in the store was what was left, well.... I love this florist! Louise is just absolutely lovely and is obviously amazing at what she does. She spent time talking about her business and why she loves it. So let's talk about how I love this place so much. The shop is always so lovely with all the fresh flowers, well, needless to say haha. And Louise always arrange them in such a lovely way and it's such an enjoyment walking into the shop, just bloomy, colourful, fresh and stylish!!! Their flowers are really high quality and long lasting. They have the best long stem roses and so many kinds! Louise and her assistants:) are very experienced and they listen to the customer on their budgets, occasion, and give advice on what kind of flowers to use. I trust Louise and her shop. She always works her magic in making WOW flowers for me within seconds!! My home has been colourful and classy since I visit this shopLOVE! If it is still the same as before... They have new flowers coming in every Wednesday and Thursday. I always try to visit on Thursdays:) or just wander past the shop to enjoy the beautiful "garden"!

I remember going to florists with my mother to be treated to one of the most beautiful smells as the fragrances of the blooms mingle to create a heady whole. I got just this sensation when walking into Flowers Due North, a new florist on O'Connell Street, on the city end just near the Cibo. The interior is painted dark and there is a slightly moody feel, but to me this really made the colours of the flowers really pop out. They stocked an interesting array of flowers, and the staff are friendly. I had a good chat to the lady behind the counter who was very helpful in getting together the type of arrangement I needed. I get the impression that whatever your needs are they are willing to work with you to get a bespoke outcome, which is great in this day and age of cookie-cutter flower arrangements. The store sells the traditional bouquets and boxed flowers and all are prepared in front of your eyes in the beautiful white and airy shop. The best thing about Flower Folly is that delivery is available and FREE if the flowers are being sent to the Women's and Children's Hospital. Sending flowers to someone in hospital may be a traumatic time for some people and this great service really helps out the customers and sets them apart from other florists. The prices are reasonable and although there are big displays available, there is something in everybody's price range. If you head to the store in Longwood as well you can get farm gate fresh flora at farm gate discount prices!

I loved the more earthy, green style of this store's bouquets. That may be a seasonal thing that I saw. But it seems that she does not stock as much bold colours and cheaper species of flowers. More of the softer tones of flowers that work well together. She also sells a range of potted plants and shrubs. After looking through the store, I noticed a line of gorgeous terrariums in large jars. They featured three types of succulents, rocks and moss. They also came with some instructions for care. I thought this was perfect for a present. Something that will continue to grow and decorate my firends home. It was well priced and the owner walked me through how to look after it. I look forward to return and arrange one of the lovely bunches of flowers I was admiring in the store.

As there was little stock left already made into bouquets we enquired if more available. She said no even though plenty of loose flowers in stock and could have made one for us. She also said 'what did we expect at this time of the day' .. never come here again.
