These shops can avert a potentially embarrassing situation which is you forgetting to bring something for the patient you're visiting. Case in point is Liza's Flowers at Manila Doctors Hospital. This small shop offers different types of flowers, balloons, and stuffed toys that can surely touch the heart of the person you're visiting. I bought a colorful bouquet of fresh flowers for my wife's relative who had just given birth at MaDocs. Initially, I wanted to bring food because, by tradition, that's what most Filipinos would expect. But since I didn't have the time to shop for the perfect food takeaway, I settled for flowers. My gesture was much appreciated by the recipient. But alas, I paid a lot for convenience! The shop also offers personalized t-shirt printing, if you can believe it! Although this service isn't necessarily intended for hospital patients, maybe someday it will become a popular souvenir for loved ones confined in the hospital.

The place is big and packed with a lot of toys for kids of all ages, cute costumes and paper decor and ornaments. The staff are also helpful but a little distracted (to be fair, there were a lot of customers when we went and it was October, considered a peak season because of Halloween), and in true Divisoria fashion, the prices are lower compared to mall price. However, I'm a quite stingy and I don't mind searching the streets of Divisoria to find the best bargains so I still found their prices too high at Divisoria level. Or maybe I was just to not easily impressed that day. I would rather go to Tabora for the costumes and decor, and find cheaper toys elsewhere. But to be fair (again), the quality of their toys are much better than the ones I saw in other stalls. So I still ended up buying a few toys and party decors there and continued my bargain-hunting somewhere else.
