I found this salon through a Groupon, and bought a Mani/Pedi for myself. I usually only treat myself to Pedi, but the deal was for both, and the price was reasonable, being a Groupon for $20. But just before the expiration date, I made an appointment, then I was bit in the leg by a spider just a week prior to my appt. I called ahead to cancel my appt. and they were very kind and said that it was no problem and to come back after my leg was better and they would still honor the Groupon although it was expired. It turned out that my bug bite became infected and it was more than 3 months on antibiotics and further problems resulted in several months before it healed. I called FLOW Salon and told them what had happened and that I would like to make an appt. to use my mani/pedi Groupon that was expired due to such & such, and that they told me I could come back whenever and they would still honor it., etc. so without hesitation they gave me an appointment.
I show up for the appointment and hand them my Groupon for the Mani/Pedi and sent me to the back for the Pedicure first, then the Manicure. The girl who did my Pedi was very nice but didn't speak ANY English, so I sat there quietly after having asked her a few questions and she just shook her head, because she didn't understand a word I said. So, I enjoyed the nice massage chair, but it punches the bottom of your butt. Strangest massage chair ever!?? I have sat in many, but never felt that one. The girl did a nice job on my pedicure, nothing fancy, very basic. No hot towels on your legs, no rub or massage of your lower leg or feet, no lotion. But that was fine, I would at least have my toes and fingers painted.
Same with the manicure. nice job but very basic, basic. For the money I paid, it was fine. So, my nails looked nice. I figured, "so I didn't get a nice chat while I relaxed, I didn't get the warm towels or legs massaged with lotion" but it wasn't my technician's fault. So I tipped her nicely, $14.00 and said thank you. Then I was ready to leave and the woman at the front desk told me that my Groupon was only for $20, so I would need to pay the additional $29. I said, "$29?!" I re-told them how this who thing took place and that they had told me they would honor my Groupon WHENEVER I felt better, and now they tell me I owe $29 in addition to the $20 I paid for the Groupon. I saw a stand up advertisement in front of their door for a Mani/Pedi for $39 walk-in. I told them that since they are changing the rules on accepting my Groupon, then they should AT LEAST give me the $39 dealt they have posted outside! The guy owner didn't want to do that but finally agreed to allow me to pay $14 more and I agreed to that and left. I WON'T BE BACK. The way they handled that was certainly not worth the basic-basic service they provided. They should have told me that they wouldn't honor the price I paid for the Groupon BEFORE I sat down, not after I was there over an hour and leaving! I would have walked out and gotten my money back. I didn't plan to spend $28 that day after I had already paid $20 for the Groupon to begin with. read more
