I've purchased a lot of MINIs, like six, and each one of them came from Flow. Sure you can look around all you want here but in my dealings with the Flow team, they've always done right by me. My recent purchase of a 2025 MINI had some issues with the head unit and they worked extremely hard to make it right. The General Manager told me that if the head unit couldn't fix the problem, he'd make sure to put me in a new car, same payments, to ensure I was satisfied. They've fixed my problem. Patrick is always great to work with in finding what I want. I'd recommend going in to see him. Financing is fast, easy and I've never had any issues. I can always trust that when I pull my Pepa up under the Flow Mini Winston Salem service center awning he is going to be ok. I walk in and I am greeted by Ryan who was pleasant for an early morning serving. Ryan pulled up my reservation and confirmed my requested service and happily added an additional requests for me. Ryan gave me the anticipated total and I was off to the waiting area. The seating is actually pretty comfortable which helps when you have to hunker down and spend a couple to a few hours with them. There is a TV and a beverage bar, but I am usually super happy looking at the newer MINIs or sitting down rocking out to the iHeart radio playlist. Mixture of 80s 90s with a sprinkle of current. I pretty much know every song that comes through. lol The customer service team comes in and most speak when passing by the waiting area. Not offended, but it would be nice for everyone to at least acknowledge. They KNOW we are spending a pretty penny here (thanks BMW ). Aaaannnnnyyyyway!!!! I have zero grievances with my service. I trust that the technicians know the vehicle and will do what is best. Which leads to a very nice touch which is the technician's personal video uploaded to you via text----introducing themselves to you as the one who has serviced your vehicle and they begin to show you recommended areas for repair opportunity . They take the time to actually show you and explain the issue telling you whether it is urgent or can wait until next service. To me, that service is invaluably top notch. I've never encountered a run around with my service, never had to return the vehicle because something was not done properly. He took my information over the phone got all the other information I needed through an email, and I received my key within a week, he was fantastic. Ok so it's known I've had issues in the past with Flow MINI of Winston Salem service dept. before. So fast forward 6 months since the last. So my wife's 2015 Countryman had the oil consumption leak down performed right after purchasing it. 96 days and less than a 1000 miles driven and it was 3.5 quarts low on oil. Last week he turbo started going out. So i was having it replaced and the car has still been using oil. So i purchased a valve cover to put on while it was there. When the valve cover was removed. We found the upper chain guide in pieces chewed up and laying in the head. Upon further inspection we realized the 2 bolts that hold it on were missing and not in the head. He inspected the screw holes and the threads were still intact. With no signs of stripping or metal shavings. So i called Ryan Simmons Flow Mini of Winston Salem service and told him what we found. He immediately said we haven't done the timing chain on her car. I reminded Ryan Simmons about the oil consumption repair. Which requires removal of the cylinder head. Which in turn means the timing chain had to be removed or disassembled. He then instructed me to send him photos. So I sent several photos. It was late so I said I'll get with you Thursday. So I messaged Ryan Simmons Thursday morning and asked if he'd gotten the pictures and what I needed to do. So since there had been previous issues. Ryan Simmons told me to call and we could work on a solution with help on our Mini's. Well that's where this comes in. Ryan Simmons sent me back a text. (See below) I was told to buy a timing chain kit from ECS Tuning and put it on her car. Then remove the oil pan and clean it out. I hope the 2 screws are in the oil pan. That not the answer I expected to get from someone who talked with me and the last issue and said just call me and we'll work through things. I had offered to bring the car there for inspection but I was given a 180°answer. Buy the parts from ECS Tuning not minipartsdirect.com and no offer given to take a look at it. I'd really like to know what Don or Eric Flow would have to say about this. I've had multiple issues with Flow MINI of Winston Salem service dept on multiple cars. So make sure if they do engine work. That they will back it up. Bolts don't just unscrew themselves. Thats not the service i was promised in the future. SO ONCE AGAIN I'M HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED WITH FLOW MINI OF WINSTON SALEM SERVICE DEPT. and Ryan Simmons. Do what you tell people and be straight with them. Went in with a trade and were arbitrarily offered $12,000 below KBB trade in value, which is insultingly low especially in today's market. I provided them with objective factual evidence as to where I came up with my asking price, but after waiting to hear back they only increased their offer to $8,000 below KBB. They told us to compare their trade-in price to places like Carmax and Carvana, which I thought was interesting considering that Carmax and Carvana are typically known for offering lower wholesale/trade values, because they offer the most straightforward and easy process, as well as offering discounted vehicles for sale. On a different occasion, our salesperson tried to convince us that interest rates were better on used/CPO cars than new cars, which may sometimes be true under certain circumstances, but extremely rare when directly comparing cars of a similar value for similar loan terms. I will say that overall our salesperson was friendly and professional, and I understand that they are just doing their job as their managers instruct them. After my original review, I was contacted by Billy, the manager at Flow Mini. Unfortunately, this phone call has soured my feelings towards Flow Mini even further, as the phone call felt very confrontational, and Billy only seemed to want to explain to me why I was wrong on all counts and was not open to hearing my perspective. All that being said, I still doubt I would ever consider Flow Mini again, and I certainly wouldn't recommend them to anyone else. read more

I took my 2012 Mini Countryman in to Flow Mini Winston Salem for an oil change. The service technician was thorough and discovered coolant leaking from my water pump. Glad they caught it before we started our long trek to the west coast (it's a 48-hour venture, including stops). No, I didn't like the expense, but glad it was identified and fixed the same day. They put me in a cool loaner so I could run a few errands while I waited for the repair. Thanks, Ryan & team. I'll come again...but next time I really hope it's just an oil change. ;) read more

When, however, you agree to buy at said price, they add an "additional dealer markup (ADM)" to their no-haggle price. Even the sales manager won't waive it to close a sale. Stay away. I live near Flow Mini and have a 2008 Mini Cooper. I service it here, in Seattle WA and in San Antonio TX. Flow is dreadful. I'm not sure if they don't like old people, fat people or women, but something causes this service department to forget their manners when I come in. I am happy I won't have to bring it in again and I would recommend using any other place and buying a mini from anywhere else but here. They have charged me to fix the car and it was still not running when I picked it up and they are condescending when explaining repairs. They recommend tires when none are needed. I can only imagine what repairs they suggest and charge for that aren't needed. Avoid, avoid avoid!!! I seriously think the other reviews have been paid to write positives or work there. read more

I have bought a few cars from Flow and had them serviced at Flow. This particular dealership is HORRIBLE! I took my Buick to Flow Buick earlier this week and had a wonderful experience! I'll be back there. I brought my Mini to be serviced at Flow Mini this morning. I was not greeted as I was at the Buick dealer. When I walked in the building no Hello just shoved a piece of paper at me to sign. When I asked where to wait, a mumbled response in some general direction. The Buick dealer customer service was above board with constant updates etc. The Flow mini dealer no updates. I was treated as if I was pond scum. Yes my cat may be 8 years old and I'm not buying from you BUT I'm still her getting service. I will never come back here again nor will I recommend Flow Mini. BUY YOUR CAR FROM THIS PLACE!! I spent a few years in car sales and am extremely picky about what I look for in a dealership. Price is obviously the leading factor, but honest dealing is a close second. My years in the business taught me that there are very few honest, straightforward dealerships and salespeople. Well Flow is that one-in-a-million place. First off, they offer great deals on their cars right out of the gate, but in addition, they are just good folks. I live in Maryland and went to every dealership in a 75 mile radius with only one that showed promise. When it came down to the wire though, they tried to pull one on me at the last minute. That's when I started looking further out and found Flow online. Not only did they keep their word and deliver on their promises, they were very flexible with me during the decision making process. They just made it as easy as it could possibly be; and let me make a plug for my salesperson, Patrick Simpson, who really made this all happen. I only wish they weren't so far away, but of course - they made that part easy too by driving my car to me and delivering it to my doorstep! I signed the paperwork in my dining room! To put the icing on the cake, they threw in a few items that I didn't know about until I received the car - pretty cool. Lets cut to the heart of it: there's a good reason why Flow owns a dealership for every possible make of car you can imagine in Winston-Salem, it's because the franchise is built around overcharging customers. Every car on the lot is overpriced by about 15-20% compared to the fair market value...I'm talking dealership estimates too, not comparing vs. private sellers. Worse still, when you ask for some wiggle room on the sticker price they say that it is a 'no haggle' price. Whoever heard of such a pile of crap? Especially if you are trading in a vehicle you can be damn sure they will haggle you down on your trade-in value and nickle and dime you to death on every possible defect so why the double standard? Simple, it allows them to bend their customers over the barrel and maximize their profits. Be aware, do your own research on Kelly Blue Book or any of the good estimate sites so you know the real value of the car you are looking at. The best advice I can give you if you are in the market for a Mini is to take your business elsewhere but if you prefer to make up your own mind, be armed with the following information going into Flow Mini, here are their tactics (note: we were shopping for used cars only, I can't speak to new vehicles): 1)They'll show you a big list of all the repairs made to the vehicle in their shop since they acquired it. Pay special attention to the numbers. The first thing to note is that it's about 60/40 split between labor/parts...remember they have a full garage on site and a team of mechanics to maintain their vehicles, they aren't paying labor at anything approaching the $100/hr they are claiming on this sheet. Also they round everything up...an oil change takes 10 mins, not an hour but that's what they'll put down for the labor. They'll also list several bullshit line items specifically to inflate the price, like 'detailing' for $100...but when you look at the car there are still scuffs and scratches in the paint and the interior/dash is grubby...so what exactly did they do for detailing? Nothing. Maybe a vaccuum and a wash but that's about it. There will be some valid repairs on there for sure, but the majority are grossly exagerated. 2)They charge a $600 'documentation fee' with every purchase. North Carolina has no law to cap how much dealers can charge for this fee and Flow Mini takes full advantage as that $600 is among the highest charged in the nation! What is a 'doc fee' exactly? If you've ever sold a car privately you know how simple it is, you sign the title on the back, give the buyer a bill of sale, take your tags and that's basically it. It's up to the buyer to comlete the requisite paperwork with the DMV to register the vehicle, etc. Flow Mini likes to pretend that they're doing you a huge favor by handling these simple tasks by tacking on $600 onto your bill. Sure, the DMV is not fun but is it worth $600 to you? It's a perfect example of a sleazy tactic to exploit the consumer. For example, they would list it as having the "sports package" when all it had was the stripes and maybe the special headlights but it wouldn't have anything else (e.g. 17 inch wheels, stability control, etc). Or it would list it as having heated seats or the premium sound or the panoramic roof and it would simply not have these features at all. One or even two mistakes I could write it off as basic human error, but we saw it with every single vehicle we looked at. That's intentionally deceptive and calculated, and not the kind of people I want to do business with. 4)My bullshit alarm started clanging like mad when their 'sales manager' started touting their 2 yr warranty and how it was absolutely necessary that the vehicle always be serviced at the dealsership because the engines were 'special' and had a 'special computer' that controls everything (he said that repeatedly), that they take 'special oil' that requires an expert to change or you'll ruin the engine. Really buddy? A quick search online shows that Minis take 5W30 synthetic, which is very common (second in popularity only to 10w30 in the country)...and computers? this isn't the 70s, all cars made in the last 25-30 years have custom computers, ask any mechanic. This is about the point where we got sick of having smoke blown up our asses and decided to leave before we found their hands going thru our pockets. Overall just a very unpleasant experience for us, we were treated like idiots and any points we made about the actual value of the vehciles were treated with contempt, as though we should trust their valuation over that of an impartial 3rd party (like KBB)...absolutely ridiculous. read more

Live in Greensboro. Went to Flow to have a recall concerning the passenger seat fixed. After I picked up my car I noticed the sewing joining two parts of the seat had come undone. I brought it back and showed it to the customer service person. The tech that had worked on my car came up front to talk with me. He did not SAY that it was already like that but implied it. (It was not). Tech said that seats came apart often with the "older cars". Ours is a 2006. I didn't think that showed much faith in his product. Customer service guy agreed to get it fixed and gave me a loaner car. Came back to Flow from Greensboro to pick up car and the workmanship was so shoddy I could put my pinky in between the stitches. The customer service guy wanted me to take it until I asked him "if this was YOUR car, would you be happy?" and he said "no". Gave me another loaner car. Back to Greensboro. When I finally picked up my car for the last time, it looked fine. I'd made four 80 mile round trips to Flow, put 40 dollars of gas into the loaners cars that came out of my pocket. I sent an online message to Flow letting them know about my experience, no follow up on their part. I felt like I was a pain in the butt to them for wanting my vehicle returned to me in the condition that I brought it in. They got two stars because the Customer Service people were very good. Especially Mr. Quakenbush. They need to keep him. Greensboro does not have a mini dealership but I'll go to Raleigh from now on. read more
