We came to find this place due to its excellent reviews. When we drove by we weren't that impressed at the glimpse we got - it looked like a tiny butcher or cheese counter with a couple of bar seats and nothing else. We both said "oh no!" and my dining partner asked if we should look for somewhere else. There was street parking available the next block over so I parked and we went to check it out.
As soon we walked in the door we noticed the space opened up inside, and that walking past the long counter led to another larger seating space in the back. With the help of an English speaking person behind the counter, we decided to try the meal of the day, which was curried squash and rice, a veggie burger, a cheesecake, a chocolate passion fruit cake, some lentil salad, and a lemonade.
It was all delicious. We ate the lentil salad with the squash curry and it worked perfectly. The veggie burger had a slight barbecue flavor and was surprisingly good. It was so good, in fact, that we ordered another to go for a snack tomorrow. When we were leaving and thanking them for the wonderful meal, they shared that everything is homemade.
We're so glad we stopped and didn't just drive on by. The only thing we're sad about is that we're only here overnight and don't have the opportunity to try more dishes tomorrow. read more
