As I walked around this store, no employee greeted me. I thought that the selection of merchandise was a high quality and had some high prices. I chose one food item, a pantry item, to purchase. I stood in line for a cashier for a little while, and then a second employee opened a second cash register. She correctly rang up my purchase, and she asked me to donate money to St. Jude's Foundation, which I did. I have not yet use the pantry item in my kitchen. So, I bought the items and called customer service who cancelled the order. The sales associates seemed overwhelmed with the 2:00 pm crowd. I received help and suggestions in a timely fashion. The staff appear to be knowledgeable. Snarky customers heckling the sales associates didn't help. Christmas/Hannukah/etc comes at the same time every year. Your lack of planning shouldn't be taken out on the associates. Be nice.

As we had 5 people we were able to have a private event and we could choose what we wanted to cook from his options. We chose the pasta and ravioli making class. I wasn't sure what to expect, and thought maybe we'd be watching the Chef cook and maybe we'd be following along but nope, he had us dive right in and follow the recipes he provided using ingredients he had at the ready. Since there were 5 of us, we worked in groups of two each working on different recipes and all along Chef was right there watching us and helping us and giving us pointers (3 of us were pretty seasoned cooks and knew a lot about cooking but we still learned a lot!!) Chef was very patient even when mistakes were made or something didn't turn out right he told us how to fix it. In 3 hours we made homemade focaccia bread, fettuccine, fresh basil angel hair pasta as well as sausage and cheese stuffed ravioli along with 3 types of sauces- Alfredo, marinara, and vodka. And then while we were eating this delicious food he began to show us how to prepare our dessert of bananas foster allowing the birthday girl to do the honors of igniting the rum by just the tip of the pan. Wow! What an amazing fun evening! The kitchen was huge, well appointed and clean and Chef was amazing to work with every step of the way from the planning to the execution. He offers date night menus for couples as well as many other menus. I highly recommend an evening cooking with Chef Chris. This was definitely one of the highlights of our birthday weekend/family get together.

I signed up a friend and I for a class at Board & Brush. There is a calendar of events and for open project nights you can pick from any of the selections on their website to craft. Each project is priced differently depending on what you choose to do, and after seeing the quality of the pieces I think well worth the cost. Upon arrival, we had aprons and supplies waiting for us. You're encouraged to bring your own snacks and drinks. The staff was super helpful explaining the process for each piece you worked on and came around to help and keep things moving. The stencil part was a little hard but they were there to help and make sure your project came out as expected. There was a wide variety of stains you could choose from for your project and on the walls examples of every color. It was a really fun night and activity. Can't wait to come back and get started on the next one!
