We scheduled an estimate with Ashley 3 different times. Jon was a no call/no show each time. We should have moved on after the 1st no show.

I had the Naam Lum Yai (Longan Juice) to drink, which was a sweet fruit juice that I would compare to lychee. It was delicious, and definitely something to try if you like a sweet, non-alcoholic drink. The two special menu items that I tried were the Moo Ping (Grilled Pork Skewers) and Thai Boat Noodle Soup with pork. The grilled pork skewers were simple but tasted great. They came three to an order and were a great, protein forward appetizer to the meal. I also tried their vegan wings, which is a unique dish I haven't seen anywhere else in the area. My favorite dish was their Thai Boat Noodle Soup. I find it hard to discover delicious soups that are filling and deliver in strong flavors, but this one absolutely hits those marks. It had a great combination of savory and sweet, which was totally unexpected but worked together beautifully. The broth alone was so delicious, and the sliced pork really elevated the dish. I also enjoyed the noodle choice. The chef did a great job with this one. The meal as a whole was well balanced, and I left feeling with my tummy feeling satisfied. This special menu will return on Saturday, April 11th and Sunday, April 12th, and I highly recommend you stop in for that amazing soup!!! Although I did not get a chance to try a cocktail, their menu was extremely creative, and from what I saw on their account, each drink is presented in a really fun display. The owner, Noom, was so sweet to everyone in the establishment and will welcome you in with open arms!

My…read morecredit card was charged $140.00 per month June 1 and each month following through November 1 for a total of $840. What did I receive for that service? According to the service technician Tim who arrived on Friday, November 1, that day was the first time he (or anyone from Pinch A Penny) had been able to physically access the pool area because the screen door had been locked for the entire five month period. Tim said he had no idea where the key was, even though, according to Gail Seavor, the store manager, instructions on how access the pool with the key were available to every technician assigned to our pool. Our home watchers, throughout the summer, advised us that the pool was not being cleaned and it appeared that no one had been inside our locked pool area. I called Gail several times throughout the summer months and was told that "our policy is to vacuum the pool as needed." Never once did she mention that no one was gaining access to the pool area to clean, rather she stated "if I don't hear from the field technicians that there's a problem I assume that everything is fine." My home watchers sent me a picture of my pool which had turned emerald green due to lack of maintenance by Pinch A Penny. I called Gail once again and was told that the technician who had been assigned to service our pool had turned in his resignation several weeks prior to this and that she would find another technician to attempt to clean up the pool. Tim, the new technician couldn't gain access but shocked the pool through the exterior pump equipment. However, no one physically cleaned the pool until November 1 when we were greeted by Tim whose first words were "Great! Your door is finally unlocked." Tim told us that he was unable to access the lock on the screen door because he didn't know where to find the key. He stated that he sent a weekly email but had no idea where it went. We never received an email or phone call regarding the status of our pool throughout the entire summer. When I spoke to Gail after my return, I was told she didn't have any email address for me. My question is, where were those weekly emails going with the report of the water sample and which chemicals were used each week, and why was I not notified by phone that no one could gain access to the pool to accomplish the task (actually, performing the job they were hired to do.) After inquiring of Gail several times about how this matter might be resolved and her excuse after excuse about how she needs more time to review her records, she is so busy and she is only in the store a few days a week, I will be filing a claim in small claims court seeking to have the $840 returned to me for Pinch A Penny's failure to provide the service that they were hired to do.

The staff is really amazing, very friendly and professional. They really set the tone for our stay. Afternoon treats in the lobby are a very nice touch as are the doughnuts in the morning. The rooms have just been updated and are terrific! Several reviews mentioned outdated rooms, well, no more! The bed was new and fantastic. The bath is nicely appointed with a good shower. All rooms open up to the pool and ocean with nice breezes and views. You may want to consider a room on an upper floor as the socializing outside is easily heard on the second floor and tends to go on after midnight. Speaking of the pool area, the expansive, terraced space contains several fire pits/ fireplaces and sitting areas. Rows and rows of lounges are terraced around the swimming pools. A hot tub and splash pool round out the waterworks. Well, the Atlantic Ocean is there, too. A nice poolside bar with seating and cabana service adds to the resort. On the property you will find several upscale shops and restaurants just a short walk or trolly ride from the hotel entrance. Everything you need or could want is in the resort grounds. We enjoyed the live music in the Surfcaster bar off of the lobby several nights. A fun, relaxed place to converse and imbibe with friends. The ladies in our group enjoyed a luxurious afternoon at the spa. They proclaimed the massages to be the best ever! We learned that because of the recent crackdown on immigration, that the process of approving international staff has caused the resort to be significantly understaffed. For the most part you would never know as the staff was very attentive and welcoming as I mentioned. The one place where we did notice a subpar performance was in the maid service which we did not receive two days on our visit. Given the circumstances, we just rolled with it. We will definitely be back!

I absolutely love this resort. I came during the off-season for a century ride (Breakthrough T1D's…read moreRide for a Cure) and it was the perfect place to unwind. We stayed in a villa with a beach view, which was ideal for my friend and our kids--spacious, quiet, and steps from the sand. The buffet-style food was consistently delicious, and the pool was a true highlight: luxurious, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. The gym was a bit tricky to get to, but once there, I had the place to myself every morning and the weight area was surprisingly well-equipped. One of my unexpected favorites was the specialty drink served in the lobby--this free Dubai-style hot chocolate was like no other: rich, decadent, and the perfect treat after a long day. Overall, an incredible off-season stay and a resort I'd happily return to.

The area is a bit small and there isn't really a lot of sun spots for you to chill at. It is cool to experience once but I think if you tube, you still will be able to get a swim in because parts of the river are pretty deep. After the swim area, we headed to the tubing section. It is a 15 minute drive from the main park entrance. The fee was 54 for two people that had an annual pass. Highly recommend bringing a small cooler with snacks and drinks and an extra tube for it. It took us about 2 hours to float back to our car and the river is very calm and relaxing. I've floated a river in San Antonio but wasn't as nice as Rainbow springs. Very clean and the water is sooo clear. Overall, really enjoyed our day visit to this state park!

We kept getting stuck in trees and bushes. The fun part was getting to swim in the clear water and passing off our tubes to a floating friend to hold onto. We also saw an otter. The lady at the rental station was very generous and let us borrow multiple pairs of goggles and masks. There were a bunch of motorboats passing by and blasting their music. They disturbed us with their waves and noise. It was around $27 per person in addition to $5 for one vehicle, and we paid all the fees upon entrance to the parking lot. They take you on a safari-like tram to get to the tubing entrance. I strongly recommend water shoes because my friends were suffering while barefoot on the hot ground. The walk was unexpectedly long and painful for my barefoot friends. They don't have showers or any sort of water spout/hose, so it was kind of gross to not be able to rinse the river gunk off then drive hours back to a major city. They have restrooms, but they were already closed when we walked from the river exit back to the tube station, even though the actual park wasn't closed yet, and there were still employees there. This was very inconvenient, and I wish they had at least told us in advance because we didn't have a place to change. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect the restrooms to stay open while the park is open. Also, they have you sign a waiver that says you must wear a lifejacket at all times. They didn't even offer us one, so I was baffled why they made us sign a waiver that said that. Can't they get into legal trouble if they don't actually provide lifejackets? I was troubled by the fact that we had to sign something that wasn't in the slightest bit enforced.
