Reserving the ride was seamless, I just called in my request from Atlantic City and was sent a text with the driver's name and phone number. Since we started parking a car at my parents' house near Englewood, we have been using Florida Sunshine Express to and from the airport. They have been great! Friendly drivers (I have had three different drivers), clean cars, an option for a minivan (which has been great when traveling with my kids). The rides are fixed rate depending on airport/destination, and Linda is always upfront about what it will cost. I always know a day ahead of time who my driver will be, and his mobile number. I have never had any issues. Also, once I had to make an emergency trip to Florida, and they were able to accommodate me on very short notice. I highly recommend Florida Sunshine Express for anyone needing airport transportation in this part of Florida. read more

We had the pleasure of using Linda and her crew at Fl Sunshine Express last week to take us roundtrip from Tampa Airport to Englewood and back and they couldn't have been more professional and accommodating. Larry was our driver on both legs and he was on time, quite the gentleman and just an overall gem of a person. On top of all this, I was surprised at how reasonable the rate was for such top notch service and newer model vehicles. This transport service discriminates against the elderly and disabled. My 74 yo mother has been using them since they opened (and spun off from DART) to be transported back and forth from doctors appts and the hair dresser. She has to use a walker (hense the reason she no longer drives). This week she booked transport for a doctors appt. When they arrived back at her home she paid her transport fee and pre-paid to be taken to the hair dressers on Friday. When she got back into her home the driver returned her money and told her he would no longer be driving her anywhere because "She was too much trouble". HIS EXACT WORDS!!! She called us in tears. She was so upset, not at the fact that she could not find another transport service but that the driver made her feel horrible that she was such a burden because she was "Too much trouble". SO much better than calling Uber or any other service where you have no idea who you may get behind the wheel. I have used Sunshine Express before and had a positive experience, which is why they were the first shuttle service I thought of when my plans of getting to the airport fell through last minute. I called the after hours reservation line--as instructed on the website--and after being pleasant and introducing myself I was curtly asked why I was calling. First I apologized for calling after hours--it was 9:30 PM--and then proceeded to ask if a last minute pick up would be possible for first thing the next morning. I was rudely told they were booked all day and the woman hung up on me. I am so disappointed by such disrespectful and rude customer service. Why would you direct customers to call an after hours phone number only to be rudely answered and hung up on my someone? I was treated like a prank caller and I was simply a polite customer in need of service. I'm so disturbed by how I was treated that I vow not to ever use their service again and I warn anyone who calls them after hours to watch out! read more

I saw the excellent reviews here and decided to call them because I suffer from terrible anxiety and didn't want to rent a car for $75.00 and drive myself the hour and a half in the dark from Englewood to the Fort Meyers airport. The staff booking me were very friendly. I had to leave at 4:30 in the morning to be at the airport by 6:00. The lady on the phone assured me that my driver would be there by 4:30. The day before, she texted me and gave me my driver's name and # and assured me he would be at my place by 4:30 a.m.... Well, by 4:35 I called him. No answer. Then I tried to call FSE, there was an option to leave an emergency message, no answer. Then Steve called me and said "I'm terribly sorry I over slept." I was livid. He wasn't even on the road when he called. He said he was 10 minutes away and "on his way." He arrived at 5:00... very apologetic... loaded our luggage and we were off. I assumed he was a teenager, but he was a very nice older gentleman... who drove safely and got us to the airport at 6:15. I am thankful we didn't miss our plane. He got my sister a wheel share when we pulled up and unloaded our luggage. I ended up tipping him, he graciously said, "No, by yourself a drink on me." I insisted he take the tip. I would have given them 3 stars but being late, no answer on the emergency... ugh... not acceptable. read more
