There's a cafe where the culinary students cook and sell meals. Today it was lunch only from 11:30-12:00. A bowl of veggies mixed in rice looked yummy but had sausage so I declined. With a drink it was like $4 Lots of courses offered from writing, drafting, computers, Surgery technician to cosmetology, and even Veterinary assistant. This is summer so the classes are limited. This is also a part of Collier county schools. Classes offered are for degrees as well as just fun adult improvement courses. Everyone must check in at the receptionist desk by the media center right in the lobby. What's weird is I couldn't find Building 2. Only saw signs for 1 and 3. Told I was to walk past the lobby to the next building which was 3, go thru a hallway to take an elevator up to second floor where my classroom was in building 2. Hmmmmm ... someone messed up. How bout some signage? At the end of the campus are alternative schools. Not the best places to hang, but hopefully kids can turn their lives around there with a more stricter, disciplined setting. There is a covered walkway connecting the buildings and plenty of parking.

**WARNING TO PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS**…read more I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel a MORAL obligation to warn other estheticians about my experience. I enrolled in the Advanced Esthetics course expecting quality, hands-on education. Before class even started, I questioned how four advanced modalities could realistically be taught in a single day (10-5 pm). I even tried to cancel before the class began, but I was told I couldn't because I had signed a contract. Including credit card fees, I paid $1,552.50 which I was told was the discounted price from the regular $2,500. Another student said she paid a different amount. It's A LOT of money for me right now, but I was trying to be hopeful. For that price, I expected extensive hands-on training. Instead, we WATCHED a TCA peel, WATCHED a Hydrafacial on live models. The teacher did demo a microneedling and dermaplane. Our only practice was some microneedling on a model that I shared with another student, and the "hands on" dermaplaning portion consisted of practicing on our own ankles for about 15-20 minutes. Yes...our ANKLES. I could have done that at home. I even came to class without makeup because I was led to believe we would be practicing these procedures on one another. That never happened. My biggest disappointment wasn't just the class itself--it was the gap between what I was led to expect during the enrollment process and what was actually delivered. Had I known the true amount of hands on training I would receive, I never would have enrolled. No student should have to pay twice for the education they believed they were buying the first time. To be fair, after I repeatedly expressed my dissatisfaction, I was invited back for additional training with Natalie in her med spa. That day was genuinely excellent. She provided valuable education, introduced me to additional modalities, and gave me what felt like a one day internship in a med spa setting. I am truly grateful for that experience, and it was a very good day, which is why it was such a difficult decision to leave this review. I am grateful to Natalie, but I still believe I significantly overpaid for the original class because the amount of hands on instruction simply did not justify the price. I literally could have watched these for free on YouTube. Future students should not have to repeatedly complain before receiving the level of education they paid for. I also want to issue another warning: be careful paying for OTHER courses that we, as estheticians, legally cannot perform. Please review Florida's scope of practice before enrolling in any advanced course. If you still choose to continue, just know you will most likely be watching a live demonstration rather than actually using the equipment. It's the equivalent of signing up for driver's education and only watching the instructor drive. A course that only allows you to watch is not an advanced training, it's an expensive demonstration.

The other problem is they pay a lot of security people to stand around but they're clueless about the facility. The can't answer a single question about seating. They're getting paid. Let's start with how everything is practically still brand new. As a relatively young college all the buildings and classrooms are top notch and new. As someone who went to a college that has been around much longer, FGCU has the nicest facilities I've seen. And that's not just for the student athletes or the privileged, that is for everyone. You also have a private beach on campus with a boat for rent. Once again something that is almost unparalleled with other college campuses. Next you have the unique location of being sandwiched between two amazing cities, Forty Myers and Naples. The amount of money has such an impact on the surrounding areas it's amazing. Everywhere you go you have the best shopping and dining anyone could possibly ask for. All within 15 minutes of campus and everywhere is pretty much a friendly neighborhood. Lastly the academics here are getting better and will continue to improve. FGCU is still young and relatively easy compared to other big schools but I'm sure this will change in the coming years. This is a unique college with a pretty awesome experience waiting for someone to come give it a whirl.

Brooke at the Naples Motorcycle Riding School is nothing short of awesome. The course is all about being safe and avoiding being in an accident. Anyone can hop on a motorcycle and go at high speeds in a straight line, but how many know what to do and what not to do when someone pulls out in front of you? The difference can life or death. The first night of class Brooke explains the rules. If you do a wheelie it will be your first and last one, as you will be asked to leave. If you show off in any way, you are gone. It's all about riding safely. Then he goes through the course handbook materials teaching the course. Day 2 and 3 are spent on riding technique. How to properly perform a high speed stop, a high speed weave, slow speed turns in a tight radius and combinations of all of the above. Brooke demonstrates the proper technique before you try it. Some riders had never been on a motorcycle before. Brooke gives them the special instruction they need while the rest of us continue practicing until my the afternoon of the last class we are all ready to do our riding test so Brooke and his assistant can score our skill level. I highly recommend that anyone currently riding a motorcycle or thinking of riding a motorcycle take this class. It is well worth the $250 and the time spent. Once I get my motorcycle and refine the skills that were taught I will return for his advanced classes. What you learn may just save your life!
