o Stars, took advantage of my son buying his first rifle. Sold him a refurbished rifle, told him if they had a firing range he could test it (They don't). Took over 300.00 dollars and sold him a broken gun. When he called they basically said your bad luck. He went after Christmas to buy a new rifle, went to pick it up when home from school and they had sold it out from under him. Read all the great reviews you want, but take this seriously, if they do this to one person they have done it in the past and will do it again. read more

They have a great selection of guns,ammo,and accessories. However, are severely lacking in personalized customer service. They would be so much better if they addressed this concern, but it is as if they don't care. My advice would be to slow down, reach out to their customers and smile. One irritating example is when dealing with the counter sales person and the phone rings, instead of putting the caller on hold, and finishing with the customer at hand, the caller gets immediate attention. I have walked away without making a buy because of this procedure. read more

As newbies and first time patrons to this or any gun store, we were so relieved and happy to meet their sales representative Bobby! We tag teamed him with novice questions and he patiently answered everything without hurrying or making us feel uncomfortable. Very soon he informed me how to get involved in classes to maintain and use a firearm. Soon my boyfriend wanted to join me in the classes and was also interested in purchasing a gun. There was never any pressure. Never a moment of intimidation. And oh so many choices! The only thing we wish is they had a shooting range. I called in asking if they had the Glock 19 Gen 5 and was told yes. Then I asked about shipping to my city to save me the drive and then the guy asked for the model number. I stated it was the base Glock 19 gen 5, but that wasn't good enough and was told that he needed the exact model number because they had "too many". On top of that he was kind of rude and impatient. Anyhow, found a Gen 5 at The Armories and got it cheaper than the $539 that I was quoted at Fl Gun Exchange...seems he quoted the right gun, but played games. read more

Zero Stars! After being a LONG time customer and spending a lot of hard earned money with these people, I was treated like shit by them. They think because they purchased a fancy building and usually have a large inventory that the customer needs them more than they need their customers! Well I wouldn't shop there again if they were giving away guns, BTW others in town will match their prices even sale prices. No loyalty to customers gets you no loyalty for your business! Entire operation needs a class in customer service, loyalty, & common sense. It's a management problem as far as I can tell. I can go to Academy if I want to be just another number... Try Volusia Top Gun Instead. FGE lost a good customer unnecessarily but I don't think they really even care! DON'T SHOP HERE! You mean NOTHING to this business. read more

We were recommended this store by our firearms instructor. My wife and I purchased a firearm from here not but 2 weeks prior to this event and had a great experience with Darren. We were approached by a portly Caucasian gentleman(by the by, I am Native American, my wife is Caucasian) to help me with some decisions about my purchase. My style of dress is very "hard" and I wear a biker's vest even though I am not affiliated with any biker gangs, nor do I even own a motorcycle. I simply like the vest. Ever since my wife and I were married about 2 years ago, everything we own has been in her name. I showed interest in a gun and my wife didn't really. The "ex-marine" asked who was purchasing it and my wife said she was. Then he said he had a "feeling" and began drilling me about why I wasn't going to purchase it. Essentially, I was racially profiled and was judged by this guy. We just moved here so our licenses were from a previous state and since everything is in my wife's name(including my car title) she would have to be the one to purchase it if we didn't want it mailed to our old apartment(which burned down, so doesn't exist). He gave me a bunch of legal mumbo jumbo, talking about liability- between the lines- saying that he thought I was a criminal and was going to do something bad with it and didn't want to be liable. He refused to sell us the firearm. I could feel the white supremacy oozing off of him and told him that I thought he was a bad word. He then became "hurt" by this and demanded that I leave. And we did, with a storm of curse words, which is my first amendment right. If you are not Caucasian, be prepared to be profiled and judged by the 90% Caucasian staff! Talk about a HUGE selection. They pretty much had every type of weapon in stock. I was actually shocked by their inventory. What I didn't care for were how all the accessories were behind the counters so you couldn't just browse through the gear without assistance. I also picked up a couple of boxes of 22 LR ammo since I haven't seen any in Central Illinois for the past couple months. I bought the 325 count boxes and was SHOCKED by the price tag: $41 per box. Good Grief! Just before dickhead caused the huge panic buy, I picked up two boxes of 500 rounds $20 each. Talk about price gouging! Anyway, I needed ammo for my son's rifle so I took it in the pants and bought the ammo. read more

No inventory, they are always selling the last one they have. 4 Not enough staffing. 5. Little no organization, with staff. 6. No organization with placement of firearms, most of the time it looks like a millennium placement of merchandise 7. If they do not have it they refer you to there web site, proving again they do not have the supply on hand(they also kick you with the jab "you will have to pay transfer fees") 8. I had heard good things about this store from a friend so I took a drive out there from Deltona to see if they had a Kel Tec 9 that I was interested in since they had several advertised on their website. Well I get out there, walk in and all the racks are empty. I thought they might've been robbed but one of the guys told me most of their guns were at a gun show. Sure there were shotties, rifles and some pistols but everything I was considering wasn't there at all. They told me to come back another day. Well, I bought my Kel Tec 9, but from another gun shop cause they had one in stock for me when I went in to check it out. I might make another trip out there; their website sure gets you excited on what should be in the store, but I'd advise giving a call first if you're coming a longer distance to see if their daily stock is not full. read more

The new location is absolutely beautiful and the inside is HUGE! Its almost as if once you walk in, you're in paradise. Another reviewer wrote that the location has been moved to Deland, which is incorrect, Florida Gun Exchange is located north of Daytona, in Ormond Beach. They have also reopened the store in Port Orange off US1. I've been a fan of Florida Gun Exchange for years (since they were originally in Port Orange). FGE is where I purchased my first firearm. The staff was knowledgeable and I didn't feel like I was being pushed towards something that I wouldn't be able to handle (larger caliber or larger size).
