We ordered a matching garage door in February to replace a damaged door. After waiting 6 weeks( we were told 4) we called and found that only part of the order came in and it would be delayed. They didn't call to let us know. On the day the door was installed the technician said the sensor wasn't working but he would send out a salesperson to sell us a new sensor. Well there was nothing wrong with it - he had not pulled the chain to reset it. The worst experience. Purchased a $4,000 insulated door for a single family home. They removed two 2X4" boards as required for the new door, and replaced with 2X6". Slight damage to wall & baseboard. I asked if they were to paint the new boards, the installer said then the city inspector wouldn't be able to see it's the right one. Seriously? The office rudely said they aren't painters. They did not clean up at all and left plastic wrappings, scraps, etc. in a trashcan I had in garage for me to take care of. I am 85 years old. They left sawdust, screws, etc., trash on the floor for me to sweep. I called to speak to a manager and wound up with the office gal so rude she said "F U Marge" and hung up. I was told it would be completely sealed (for insulation.) It wasn't. The installer told me to putty where I saw light coming in. Seriously. A family owned business? Good Lord. Due to various reasons, I wanted to replace both of my garage doors. I contacted another garage door vendor who gave me an estimate for about $6K and told me it would take about 4 months to get the garage doors in!! So I contacted Florida Garage Door Pros in Dunnellon, Fl. and asked them for an estimate. Aleck came out (on time!) and gave me an estimate for about $5K and they could install them within a couple of weeks. (He was very friendly, knowledgeable and answered all my questions.) They always called or sent me text messages to keep me informed of when they were coming to do the work and on the day the garage doors were to be installed, Jerry showed up on time and did a great job on install, (even with me tagging along asking questions.) He ran into a problem installing the second door, (not his fault but a problem with my house), but Aleck came next day and fixed the problem. The only thing left is to put some trim pieces on that they are having trouble getting in due to the shipping problems going on, but once they get them in they will come by and install them. (This does not affect the performance of doors, it is just aesthetics.) Gotta say it is really nice dealing with a company that caters to it's customers. This company came to give us a price on the door and told us 3 to 6 weeks. At 11 weeks, they finally showed up. Due to unfortunate circumstances, we found ourselves down at the medical center in Hudson, so we were not here when the door was completed. I was given ultimatums and told that the door would be removed if I was not back within 15 minutes. Just so you know, I was due back in 20 minutes. I asked to be able to inspect the door just like others have done and I was told no. Brandy, lovely receptionist, actually told me "to go F myself" when I put up an argument about having to pay before I got to inspect the finished product. She told me that if I wanted to inspect it before paying the balance, I should've been there, and I told her if it had been installed at 3 to 6 weeks, as promised, I probably would have been there. My neighbors tell me that the installer, Jason, was yelling and screaming and carrying on in my driveway because he had to wait for me. He didn't wait. Whatever happened to treating your customers with respect and compassion? And Brandy, if you're reading this, you should be ashamed of yourself.
