From what I read, it signifies renewal and cleansing. The colors are so vibrant through out the grounds. It's definitely beautiful throughout the temple. There are a ton of people for this event. We waited in line for food for an hour. But I'm glad I did with my friend who was all about this with me. Traditionally, they have water guns to wash away misfortunes and usher in Prosperity. I didn't get to stay for this and I wished I did. I wish I knew bc I def would have brought a huge water gun. This is a great experience to see their festivities for New Years. They have a mountain of sand to make sand castles, music, small parade, elaborate detailed alter to visit for your New Years wishes, and food and other items to purchase. The parking was on the grounds as well as across the street. It's very dog friendly walking around except for where the food is, & it's a great view as always by the water.

I let Doug know he could give me a little less on the samples, and he made sure I was comfortable the rest of the tour. He never teased or made fun of it. He even kept it light-hearted, saying he didn't want to have to roll me out to the car in a chair. That kind of easy, respectful humor is a big part of why the tour felt so good. The wine variety was excellent, and the samples were just the right amount and enough to get a real sense of each wine without overdoing it. The charcuterie board options tasted great with the wines and were a nice part of the VIP experience. Gift bags were a thoughtful add-on, and the shop pricing was reasonable. You won't break the bank here, and even if you spend a bit more, it feels worth it. The person who checked us out after we picked our favorite bottles was friendly and sweet too. Parking was easy, free, and conveniently located to all the festivities which is a huge plus. This is also one of the few local markets where I've actually seen a large selection of fresh produce and and farm goods available. It was refreshing to see so many people bring their market bags on wheels, wagons, etc. ready to purchase fresh fruits & veggies and support our local farmers. Beautiful watermelons, tomatoes, papaya, lettuces, corn, peppers, zucchini, and more. There's a good mix of vendors ranging from jewelry and handcrafted goods to food trucks and specialty food items. We got mango coladas, mango flower with tajin, breakfast tacos, and of course, kettle corn. Huge plus that there is the downtown splash pad for all the kids to play right in the middle of all the action. It was a HOT one and this was a great way for my little guy to cool off and burn some energy while we sat and enjoyed our food. If you have kids, I highly suggest they wear their swimsuits and bring some towels to dry off.
