The initial exam was efficient and clear, the cleaning was also great. I have a fear of the dentist and of needles in general, but the team there was patient, efficient, explained enough to put me at ease, and checked in with me regularly. I really appreciate the approach to care they took. The only reason for 4 vs. 5 stars is that it does seem like they are training a new front desk personnel (which will help in the long run!) but does seem to create a short backup in the front and require some reconfirmation of care with the team and me a few times before finalizing the next appointments. The team (including all the front desk team members) are really patient and helpful though!

When I first went here I was advised thay I should replace two older metal fillings that I had done many years ago. Was told they would only do one filling that day and not two. Not sure why, but okay. Filling done and scheduled for second filling. Show up and told that another doctor will be doing the filling. Not over thrilled with having multiple doctors as they each have their own way of doing things. Second filling done and its poor quality work. Sharp edge left, and not properly grinded down for bite. Cant feel that though since my mouth is numb. Had to reschedule to have that fixed. Went back in months later for a cleaning and again have a different doctor who does my care. I prefer to have the same doctor all the time, but having a different doctor each visit left me disappointed. To make matters worse, I write this a couple years after getting the fillings. The filling from the second doctor cracked and pieces broke off while eating. Went to a different dentists office who fixed the cracked filling and made mention that the other filling which wad done here was done poorly and re-filled that knew. No problems with that procedure at all.

Sure, some work will be expensive and it's to be expected but why do other dentists hand you a bill before work is even done? 10 out of 10 with Dr. Kint. My family has been going to this dentist for about four years, and until now, we have always paid…read morethe patient portion we were told was due at every visit. Out of the blue, we received a call from the office telling us that we owe approximately $4,800. We were told that since 2022, insurance apparently has not been paying for or has been denying certain services. The most frustrating part is that no one brought this to our attention for years. There were no warnings, no courtesy calls, no statements explaining there was an ongoing issue, and no indication that our balance was accumulating. When I asked why we had never been notified, I was told they didn't want to simply call us and say we owed almost $5,000. Excuse me, what? Wanting to make that call and needing to make that call are two completely different things. If there is an insurance or billing problem causing a patient's balance to grow into thousands of dollars, they absolutely need to communicate that. Instead, we were suddenly told about this massive balance and that payment was needed immediately or it could be sent to collections. Even a simple heads-up earlier, an explanation of what was happening, or an option to make payments while they continued working with the insurance company would have been far more reasonable. If insurance eventually paid, the account could have been credited appropriately. The staff has generally been friendly, and the dental work has been okay. We have had fillings fall out, but to their credit, they were always willing to fix them. However, business and billing practices matter, and after this experience, I no longer trust this office with my family's finances. I feel we were treated unfairly and put in an extremely stressful financial situation because of a problem that apparently went uncommunicated for years. Four years of being loyal patients and paying what we were told we owed should have earned us better communication and basic courtesy. I strongly encourage anyone considering this office to closely monitor their insurance claims and account balance. Don't assume that because you're paying what they tell you at each visit, there won't be a large surprise balance waiting years down the road.

I am writing this review to warn others about the predatory and unethical practices at Palomar Dental Care. My senior citizen mother, whose first language is not English, went in by herself for a simple filling on May 6, 2025, and was subjected to exaggerated dental cost experience. Instead of addressing just the filling she requested, they pressured her into an extensive and expensive treatment plan that she explicitly stated she couldn't afford. She felt rushed through out the process, from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM, without giving her a day to consider or seek a second opinion. Thus, she end up signing the contract without even knowing full details of the contract specially about the cancellation clause. They completed "Visit 1" and "Visit 2" in one visit without proper explanation or consent known to her. Their clause stating "If treatment commences and is cancelled after commencement, a nonrefundable minimum of 50% charge will be applied" is outrageous and, frankly, doesn't seem legal under California law. My mom stressed out that she could NOT pay the full patient cost. She also told me that she didn't know about this 50% clause when she signed it. She also said Steven even told her that the contract will be finalized on her next visit, supposedly yesterday, May 8. California Civil Code § 1689.3 provides a clear three-business-day right to rescind dental services contracts. Their attempt to enforce this "non-refundable minimum of 50% charge" clause and their refusal to immediately cancel after receiving our formal letter Wednesday, May 7 is a blatant disregard for patient rights under California Civil Code § 1689.3. Despite our legal right to cancel within three business days (which my mom exercised), they are still harassing my mother by calling and trying to schedule a meeting to "talk it over." She received a call yesterday (May 8) and today (May 9). This is unacceptable and shows their intent to bully vulnerable patients! This dental office preys on vulnerable individuals, uses high-pressure sales tactics, and attempts to enforce outrageous contract clauses to trap patients. This dentist office is negligent. This idiot put implants in with glue but refused, no matter how…read moremany times it came out, to put in permanent glue. He gave us glue to take home and then yelled at me for gluing it. The worst part, I bit into a soft tortilla and swallowed the bridge. Implants are supposed to be screwed in and he used non permanent glue. He should be sued because now I have to pay thousands for another bridge. At first he comes off nice and than watch your back! He's rude and incompetent. I'm calling his board as well as the BBB.
