Along with dinner they delivered breakfast for the next morning and boxed lunches for the boat. First night: Chicken Alfredo Pasta, Caesar Salad, Asparagus, crackers an salmon dip, with fresh Marion berry pie and Tillamook Ice cream. Breakfast: Assorted pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt and granola, orange juice. Boxed Lunches: Fresh made sandwiches, apples, assorted chip variety, homemade cookies. Second night dinner: Fresh salmon, twice baked potatoes, mixed grilled veggies, caprese skewers, homemade cookies, cheesecake. Kate's arrived at our rental on time both nights as scheduled and setup everything. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious. I can't stress enough how excellent the food was. Every member in our party liked it all. The salmon was amazing. It was so nice not to worry about food after long days on the river. Thanks to Kate's for helping make this an excellent trip.

It is very accessible from Portland and the drive there is beautiful, and when you arrive at your destination you immediately feel at peace. Brian and Linda do a great job of making you feel welcome. We brought our own snacks and had a picnic in the gazebo and enjoyed the view of the river, which is so wide at that point that it almost gives the visual of being at the ocean as ships rolled by. We stayed in the Hummingbird Room which has a very comfortable bed and a wonderful view out of the window. The rates are very affordable and include breakfast - Brian is a great cook and they offer several meal options. We added the firewood package and were so glad we did, as I type this I wish I could be back there next to the fire while looking at the river. They only have two rooms so if you went with some friends you would have the whole place to yourselves. This really is a hidden gem and I highly recommend making the trip while you can.

This is what you get when you visit Grandview B & B. Funky, old, and in those two things - charm. Sharlene is someone who has lived a nice long life and probably has many stories to tell. She is usually the woman who greets you when you arrive. Be patient, as it takes her a bit to get to the front door. Also, if you come down to the lobby area after you have checked in and try to talk to Sharlene, make sure she can see who you are. I watched a few times as guests came down the stairs to call out to her about a question and she can't move her neck as easily to know who she is talking to. :) Be kind and patient with this wonderful lady. We stayed in the Treetops Room which has a balcony where you can look out over the river and see the old Flavel home. And you can even spy the Goonies house in the far off distance. Breakfast is served at 7:30, 8:30 or 9:30 and you get to choose which one works best for you. Bagels, smoked salmon and chocolate muffins! YUM! The sweet chef was wonderfully sweet and we felt very special eating in the closed off room. If you want 1000 thread count sheets or modern amenities, this is not where you will find them. Jeff is always accommodating and is just the nicest dude you could meet. There are beach chairs to borrow, WiFi, DVD/VHS movies to watch (we never have, too much to do!) and some really nice Weber grills shared amongst the cabins. The interiors are small, but it's called a "cottage" for a reason and that's part of the fun. Somehow we always show up with way too much stuff, making it a little cramped, but that's on us. The kitchen works, but don't plan to do much serious cooking in it. There are some useable tools, pots and pans, plates, silverware. Don't plan on cooking a Thanksgiving turkey or anything like that, though. Plan on doing some grilling on the Webers.
