I just wanted to give a BIG shoutout to the two amazing women working Tuesday evening! I wish I had…read morecaught their names because they absolutely deserve the recognition. I went into Sally's for something that's usually pretty routine for me, but I was also having some hair concerns and, if I'm being real, I was having a pretty crappy day and just feeling really low. Nothing makes that better quite like also hating your hair These two women were seriously incredible. I had never met either of them before, but they treated me like girlfriends helping me figure out what to do with my hair. They listened to all of my concerns, showed me their favorite products, gave me recommendations, answered all of my questions, and were just genuinely SO sweet to me. I'm a girl balling on a budget, so even spending a little extra money on myself right now was something I had to think about. But I went home, used everything they recommended, and I am SO much happier with my hair. It honestly made me feel so much better. What probably felt like a normal interaction to them genuinely turned my day around. I came in feeling crappy about myself and left feeling excited to go home and take care of myself. That kind of kindness and customer service deserves to be recognized. So if management knows which two kick ass women were working tonight (Tuesday) evening, PLEASE give them the recognition they deserve. And maybe a raise while you're at it. They were amazing at their jobs, but more importantly, they were just really kind humans when I needed a little kindness that day.

I am partial to keeping things simple with beauty products, so I use a serum (sea cell) combined with a facial moisturizer (normal skin). I have almost eliminated the use of soap on my face, and instead use their cleanser (gentle unscented----although I prefer the natural fragrance of the normal skin cleanser). I will never go back to any other "unnatural" facial product, thanks to what I know to be truly healthy plant-based Grateful Body.

Her products, which she develops and cooks up herself, are all organically and sustainably sourced, and she takes care with her packaging to ensure that everything is recyclable. Her entire business ethic is very conscious - that matters to me. My only issue is that her products are fragranced. Not overwhelmingly, but I've developed a sensitivity to fragrances; nothing in my house has a fragrance and I can only use skin care products that are fragrance-free. I know it's harder to develop unfragranced products, but as soon as she does, I'll be back. I really like the way my skin felt when I when I used them, but couldn't stand the weeping and sniffing. Her treatment table is the most comfortable I've ever experienced. She piles on silky duvets and you recline like a queen in nothing but softness. I highly recommend her services and her products, if you aren't fragrance-sensitive.

Zero wasters unite! This store is heaven for us…read more Selection: They have everything in bulk from personal hygiene to home care. In the personal hygiene section of the store you will find body wash, bubble bath, hand soap, and body scrubs. In the home care section you will find laundry detergent, and a soap for just about every surface in your home from floors to wood. Leave a Bottle - Take a Bottle: Just inside the front doors of the shop is a sweet wooden blue cabinet. Inside you will find all kinds of bottles, jars, and viles left by other customers for you to use. Bringing your own bottles is encouraged, but don't worry if you've forgotten them at home today. You can always borrow from the cabinet or purchase a bottle from their complete selection at the back of the store. Custom Essential Oil Scents: The knowledgeable staff at S.O.A.P. can help you fix up a custom scent from their selection of essential oils. The woman in the store when I was there was super patient and gracious in helping me select a new oil combo for my baths. Raw Ingredients: Not only do they sell completed products in bulk, they also sell the raw ingredients in bulk too. I'm not extremely knowledgeable with everything they had in this selection, but luckily they have a website where you can check what they typically have in stock before going in. (http://www.saveourailingplanet.com/) If you are unsure in this area of the store, ask the staff. They have all kinds of recipe cards to help guide you when making lotions, scrubs, etc. Overall: I am absolutely enchanted by this shop. I live in Reno, NV where we don't have anything even close to this available to us. I am so grateful that this resource is here to help support those of us on our zero waste journey. I don't care that I have to drive 2 hours to get there - you have a loyal customer for life.

One immediately rushed to tell me that samples are out but are not for touching. She then went back to the conversation she was having with another employee without asking if I could use some help. The other two employees were also buried in conversation, too busy to be bothered with a customer. One of the staff seemed to not understand how wearing a mask works, and had it sagging so low I could see her mouth and her entire nose was exposed. It's really sad that I walked in needing a ton of products, and will now take my business online instead. It's honestly no wonder brick and mortar stores are dropping like flies, when staff members aren't even trained to help customers. I've had great experiences in this Sephora in the past but today erased that unfortunately. :(

While browsing the store, I looked at some Olaplex No. 8, due to hair issues. I ended up getting a small bottle. When I used it, it made my normally straight hair extremely frizzy. I took it back to the store the next weekend (yesterday), but I didn't have the receipt. Since I'm part of their club, I figured they could look the transaction up and would do a store credit, at least. I asked the gal at the register and she rudely said no. If they don't do store credit, that's fine, but there's no need to be hostile about it. Total retail turn off. It's extremely rare for a chain store to not give store credit when returning a product without a receipt. So today I looked up Sephora's return policy. The site directed me to JCP's policy, since that's where it's located. JCP _does_ give store credit when there's no receipt. Heck, according to Sephora's own website, they'll even do store credit if you no longer have the receipt. What gives, GV Sephora?
