We came here to wait out the rain and have a drink. This restaurant is located steps away from the arc de triumphe. There is an inside area, but also a lot of outside seating space. We were quickly seated outside. It was perfect for people watching and taking in the heart of Paris. Flora Danica serves danish food. There was a lot of herring in the menu. I ordered a glass of wine and my husband had a couple cocktails. We shared the smoked salmon rillettes... it was like a salmon dip with dill and served with grilled bread. Prices are a little on the high end, but it's expected given the area. I thought the cocktails were worth the price too. And the food was good. The servers were nice and attentive. They probably would have let us hang out there all afternoon, but we wanted to walk around once the rain stopped. We saw one waiter tell a couple that they couldn't eat their McDonald's meal while seated in the Flora Danica area. We came from another country trying to have a good time .....and was the worst experience that we had in Paris going to this restaurant. The lady in the entrance was sweet and amigable but the waiter Po and the manager were the rudest ! I ask for something simple ...could you cook a little more the salmon, he reacted soooo bad ....!!!! Rude rude in top of that he waited my food to get cold to bring back it to the table ....!!! My family and I sat outside. The view was nice, but the service wasn't great. The guy that served us was too rushed and was not polite maybe because we were Asians. The wait was long to order and to receive the food. The food was not bad, but the pasta was too plain. I ate too much raw salmon which gave me stomach pain. My wife says the matcha latte is amazing. We came here for a sit down special lunch and received exceptional table service. Our server was extremely attentive to our needs. We tried various entrees on the menu and each one was served well. The hot-smoked salmon was definitely smoked and full of flavor but not overpowering. The chicken had a very nice rhubarb compote accompaniment, with nice mini potatoes as a side. The fillet of beef was a nice cut of meat and cooked as ordered, served on buttery mashed potatoes that the table fought over. Finally, the Flora Dansk platter had a lovely assortment of herring and salmon. The server took the time to go over each sample with a suggested order for tasting from sweet to salty. Located on Champ de Élysées, steps away from the arc, hence my nervousness that this place would have mediocre food and service because it's located in prime tourist heaven. However, it was cold and I needed a place to keep warm, thus I stopped here for dinner and coffee before my 9pm show at Lido Paris and found myself to be very please. Food: fresh and well seasoned. Never had a Danish food before, but I'm a big fan now! Such a delicious seafood and excellent wine! As for a drink, I'd recommend you to try Akvavit (Dennis spirits), you can drink as much or as little from frozen chilled bottle, they will measure afterwards so you don't have to order a whole bottle. With our hotel nearby and only a couple of days to tour, my friend and I needed to feast because we were hoping to cover Champs Élysées, Arc de Triomphe, Musée du Louvre, and more! She chuckled at my - poor - attempt to order in French. I ordered the smoked salmon blinis and a bottle of rhubarb juice. The juice was brought out first and holy cow was it the best juice I've ever sipped in my life. Aside from the fact that the cold drink was refreshing, it was very calm and not too sweet. I wish I found it in the states! After a while, my brunch arrived. They serve brunch on weekdays, what?!?!?! Best idea ever! The smoked salmon was BRIGHT orange, like the ideal orange. I attached a picture to this review, which has no filter! It was so fresh and seasoned with a bit of olive oil and dil. Without a doubt the best smoked salmon ever! The Jew in me wanted to pair it with a bagel and cream cheese. Instead, I had the blinis. Growing up in a Georgian household, I thought that was their spelling of blintzes (crepes). Instead it was this thick pancake that engulfed much of a small plate. When I cut inside, it was soft and the dough poured out like a cream puff or stuffed pancake. It was the batter, actually. 2 months later and I can still taste it - soft like a warn pancake with a smooth inside. I was hit with a sweet-ish taste. Paired with the smoked salmon and honey mustard sauce that accompanied the dish sent me straight to cloud 9. My friend was in awe at how amazing the dish was and wished she ordered the same. A wonderful experience, particularly the seafood dishes! I came here with my mom and my sister. We chanced upon the restaurant while walking down Champs Elysees. RESTAURANT: The front outdoor seating area blends with the other Parisian cafes lining the street; it had outdoor heating lamps and a casual style. However, once we walked past the bar, we were guided to an elegant, dimly-lit restaurant located in the back. It's styled in the beautiful, minimalist Nordic design with natural elements. Having recently been on a trip to Copenhagen, we joked that we felt that we were back in Denmark. SERVICE: We got there just as it opened for dinner, so we were seated quickly. Our waiter was excellent, and very attentive. He was very charming, and his fluent English was especially helpful when we were making our dinner choices. DRINKS: Upon request, our waiter recommended a light, fruity white wine to go with our seafood entrees. It was very good, indeed! A fresh bottle was opened for us, and he even poured a sample tasting for my mom who hadn't ordered a glass. So kind! FOOD: My three-person group ordered a la carte: one of the Grilled Salmon (27.50€) and two of the Roasted Cod (25.00€). For dessert, we split a Mille-Feuille (11.00€). I had the salmon, which was only grilled on one side. The skin was seasoned perfectly, and was wonderfully crisp. It contrasted nicely with the salmon, which was an excellent cut with just enough fat without being too rich. The meat was a gradient from grilled to semi-sashimi, since it was only grilled on one side. The grilled side allowed the meat to separate into nice pieces, while the softness of the semi-sashimi just helped the meat all the more MELT in your mouth. SO GOOD. Even better, it was complimented by roasted beets -- which I am already infatuated with on their own. The earthiness of the beets helped ground the fattiness of the salmon. It was really refreshing to go between the two. While the salmon and beets were plated together, the potatoes with cream were served in a separate bowl. This, too, was so delicious; so much so, I used my slices of complimentary bread** to soak up EVERY drop of the creamy sauce. While I can't speak as much in detail about the roasted cod with cauliflower which both of the people I ate with had, I can assure you they also throughly enjoyed the meal and finished every bite. As for the mille-feuille, I think it was a good dessert, but definitely not mindblowing as the main entrees were. But I might've just been stuffed by the time we got to the dessert. ** [[ small, but worth noting! ]] I really appreciated how our waiter kept on refilling our complimentary bread. Usually high-end restaurants like these only bring out their delicious, fluffy bread once (probs b/c it's so good), but Flora Danica was generous with their baguette slices! IN SUM: Highly recommend this place! It is pricey, but despite the average dessert, I do think the entrees were worth the price. Especially if you get the seafood -- the dishes we ordered were also coincidentally the same dishes that our waiter preferred, so I think its plausible that they're just amazing at making fish dishes, as most Nordic restaurants are. read more

I went to Flora Danica for lunch. I stood there a while not really knowing if someone is supposed to seat me or if I'm supposed to go in to order, and then sit with it. A waiter walked pass me TWICE, didn't say hello, or be with you in a moment, sit anywhere, he just IGNORED me completely. I waited a minute for the waiter to IGNORE ME AGAIN, and decided to walk in. I manage to communicate with a woman behind the counter who took my order... a sandwich, strawberry tart, and a cola. She said "for here or to go". I said "For here, but wrap the sandwich, I know I won't eat it all," and when she started to pour my drink in a glass, I said "I will just take the soda unopened." I paid for my items, I walk out, and pick a shady chair to sit and eat the sandwich I just bought inside. Well the waiter didn't take long to ignore me at this point, right away he walks over and says, "You cannot sit here. Sorry." I look at him and just gesture of the things I just bought inside. He says, "You got it 'to go,' ..so you cannot sit. Sorry." I was standing there waiting a few minutes to be seated and if you remember, the waiter completely IGNORED me. I just paid for food inside your store. Its too much sandwich for me to eat it all at once, so I had her just wrap it so I could sit and eat a little of it and then a little bit later eat the rest. If someone buys food at your shop they should be allowed to sit outside on your patio and eat it. I thought this was just BAD policy. He could have let it go especially after he did ignore me and missed the opportunity to seat me and get tipped. I would have loved to sit with a menu and properly dine and enjoy your French cuisine, but no one offered a menu to me, I had the impression I was to just point to the sandwich that was displayed, and ordered from the counter. Delicious Scandinavian restaurant, just nearby the Arc de Triomphe. They have different "atmospheres": you can either sit on the terrasse by the Champs Elysées, inside the main room, or in the inside garden which is super cozy and extremely quiet. I had diner there, and I did not felt like in town at all. As in most restaurants of this kind, service is impeccable and very attentive. And food... tasty, nicely presented: it was delicious! The only thing I'd recommend is that if you have huge appetite, it's not the most cost-effective place in Paris to satisfy your hunger ;) read more

TL:DR Not quite Danish food, and French "service". I am a Dane living in Paris, and I sometimes pine for food from home. So I have gone here a few times. While it's nice to get some regional specialities like the "frikadeller" (meatballs) and "marineret sild" (pickled herring), they don't get it quite right (no sourdough black rye bread), and too often the service is... pretty French. By "pretty French" - especially on Champs Elysee - I mean, spotty English, odd hours and service, and sometimes plain rudeness. Other times you can get lucky and everything is great, but it's really pretty random. The French it seems always have a system that they expect you to both know and respect, but it's never the same system in two places, and often seems like it's not even the same system in the same place twice :D After the last visit earlier today, I have to say that even though I miss my ancestral foods terribly, I don't think I will be coming back. read more

Not a cheap place, but it's very relaxing and great for people watching. It's selection of wine and beer is not big but they are all decent choices. Their steak tartare alone would have earned 4 stars. The meat was fresh and coarsely chopped. Personally I prefer the texture of coarsely chopped tartare way more than the minced kind. There were also shiso, cranberries, some crispy black looking thing (not sure if it's seaweed), small potato chips, mustard, etc. mixed with the beef, which created a very unique experience for the dish. Another pleasant surprise is the butter lettuce that came with the tartare. It was so fresh and tender, seasoned with a bit of olive oil. Love it! I'm taking a star off because we got charged 20% more for the steak tartare than it said on the menu. We asked our server, he apologized, but we still got charged more. I'm fine with the price but find this practice very shady. We can't be the only one ordering steak tartare. The fact that they kept the menu at a lower price to attract people and charge them higher is not appreciated. read more

I went to meet my parents because they were drinking coffee here and before I even sat down, this man asks what I would like to order. I said I just wanted to talk to my parents but he said that I couldn't sit there unless I ordered something. Because I didn't want to argue any longer with their rules I ordered an ice cream with a tart, which is a combination item. Just this simple item took them ages to prepare and at the time there were only about two other tables who were just there for drinks. I didn't understand what was taking so long because I already saw the tart in the frigde and the ice cream just needed to be scooped. So then I asked for it to-go because we were in a hurry to leave. The man then comes back with a bag that just had my tart in it. When I asked where my ice cream was he said that because I asked for it to-go, it no longer comes with ice cream.....A;LSDKHFADSJF What kind of BS is that?? By then I was FURIOUS because we had already paid for the bill and this ice cream tart combination was 12 Euros which didn't even come with the ice cream!!! I don't understand what's so hard about putting ice cream in a box because the tart came in a box. I kept arguing with him and he just continued to give me attitude back. WHAT KIND OF CRAPPY SERVICE IS THAT?? So then I went inside to look for their manager and spoke to another guy about my situation and he replied that they can't serve the ice cream. It eventually turned into we don't have ice cream and all this other BS. All the staff that I talked to just kept giving me attitude and didn't do anything about my paid for inexistent ice cream. My family was in a hurry so we just had to leave or else I would've given them a piece of my mind.
