I've had a real hit-or-miss relationship with the Sherwin Williams in Durango so I didn't have high expectations walking into the store. A woman approached me to take my order and I showed her a picture of my paint can and asked for a quart to do some touch up work. This is the point where the Durango store always takes me on a roller coaster, telling me they can match the paint color, can't match it, and on and on. The woman in the Farmington store was incredibly helpful and pulled her colleague when she had some questions. When the colleague came by, she showed incredible customer service. So warm and friendly and she offered me the pro discount even though I'm no where near a pro or even a contractor. I got a gallon of paint for an absolute steal. Honestly I have a hard time thinking of a place with better customer service than this store. From now on, I'll place all of my paint orders at this Sherwin Williams.

I feel I was a little rough on Sherwin -Williams after considering that they are a chain store…read more--corporate owned or franchised -- that depends on corporate HQ for product and supplies. The information that oil based exterior stains are illegal undoubtedly came from corporate and not from local employees -- even though it is in error according to contractors I've spoken with. Same for the information that proper touch up paint could only be had in gallons -- not quarts.Their lack of paint stirs was probably due to corporates failure to supply. So I now apply a five star rating for the employees on the grounds that they were only hampered by corporate, Otherwise, their survicie was excellent. The three star rating remains for corporate.
