From my very first interview with Ana, I knew I had found the right trucking school. She was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and answered every question I had about the trucking industry. She also let me know she'd be the one handling my schedule, and she truly became my personal point of contact whenever I needed help or had questions throughout the process. Ana then introduced me to the CEO, Erma, who personally handled my enrollment. She gave me a great cash deal, shared valuable tips and advice before I left her office, and made me feel welcomed from day one. The office is clean, professional, and has a military, law enforcement, and family-oriented atmosphere. You can tell they take pride in what they do. Erma was gracious, patient, and made sure all my remaining questions were answered. She even gave me her business card and encouraged me to reach out if I ever needed anything regarding my education at Sillers. They even made a special time for me to come and train because they didn't have anymore slots available at the time I wanted to come due to my kids and family situations and timing!! On my first day, I walked in knowing absolutely nothing about trucking. By the time I left, I actually felt like a truck driver! I chose to learn on a manual transmission, which cost a little more but was worth every penny. Now I have no manual restriction on my CDL, giving me the flexibility to drive virtually anything. I also completed my endorsements through Sillers, including Doubles/Triples, Tanker, and Hazmat. The online training program was easy to follow and included everything I needed to succeed. If you put in the effort and study, you'll leave extremely well prepared. One of the biggest strengths of Sillers is the instructors. I had the opportunity to train with three experienced professionals, each bringing their own unique teaching style and years of real-world trucking experience. Alex was the first instructor to take me out on the freeway and helped me build confidence while learning to shift and master the fundamentals. Mike had excellent acronyms for the pre-trip inspection that made everything much easier to remember. His teaching style was different but incredibly effective, and it really helped everything click. Then there was Mr. Art. He was easily one of the calmest and most patient instructors I've ever worked with. His coaching style is relaxed, encouraging, and thorough. He'll spend as much time as needed helping you improve any skill you're struggling with. I'd honestly compare him to Phil Jackson--calm, strategic, and committed to helping every student succeed. Even Tracy, who primarily teaches automatic transmission students, came over to give me a few pointers on my offset backing. That's what impressed me the most about Sillers.....the instructors genuinely work together as a team to help every student succeed. They're like the Avengers of trucking instructors. after I completed my class A with all endorsements Manual, I also could not pass up the chance to get my passengers endorsement on the big bus just to have on my resume and open up more employment opportunities With such a great school as this. idk if I mentioned that the school actively supports and looks for opportunities for students to work and they have relationships with so many that, it won't be to hard for them to match your skill with a job placement that's tailored to you!! No matter what you want to do in this industry, you can get it all in 1 place!! I recommend Sillers 100 out of 10. I've taken dozens of classes with the student who complained about bullying (!!), and across all that time I've never observed bullying or instructors encouraging or tolerating that kind of behavior anywhere on the platform (I've been here for over 3 years). Byron i think that was his name gave me excellent instruction went out of his way to ensure that I had a instructor (David from Perris California) that matched my driving capabilities. Itinerary: -1h classroom safety/racing fundamentals (lots of good info for the road, too) -Emergency mid-corner braking from highway speeds--M4 xdrive -Last-minute lane change, followed by emergency braking, from highway speeds--M2 -Skidpad (controlled initiation and recovery of oversteer/drifting)--M5 sedan -Lead/follow track laps at The Thermal Club raceway (real race track, adjacent to BMW's lower-speed "training oriented" facility) -Lunch (really a highlight. 2 salads, chicken breast, homemade meatballs. The service was beautiful--lasted about 1.5 hours on a Sabbath morning. They asked visitors to introduce ourselves and when it came time for yahrzeits, they asked all who were honoring one to stand and say the name of the person. The melodies were fairly traditional and I could readily participate. Afterward, at the Kiddush, several people welcomed me and I felt very comfortable. Really a lovely synagogue to attend.
