While I can't say my visit was anything approaching enjoyable, it was exactly what I needed. I'm from out of town and while I called from the road late in the day with a back in serious distress, they found a way to fit me in at 5PM. Michelle diagnosed and went right to work on the problem, and wasn't afraid to inflict pain to end it. Her treatment set me on a better path, and over the course of several days my back improved dramatically. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this practice for helping me in my time of need. I travel to the Gaithersburg area regularly, and will try to go see my new friends when I do! read more

Amazing reflexology. I got the 90 minute reflexology session and it was fantastic! Judy is very knowledgeable and did a great job at keeping me informed with what was going on with my body. Her energy work is top tier and after my session I felt relief and a release. I will definitely be coming back to try their massage therapy! read more

Horribly uncomfortable situation!! I scheduled a 90 minute massage a week in advance. A few days before my appt I was called by the receptionist to push my appt back 30 minutes...which was fine by me. On the day of my massage appt I show up and check in. I was asked to fill out a simple form. While doing so my massage therapist walks up to the receptionist counter and says "I didn't know I had a 90 minute massage. Well, this changes my whole day" then walks off in a huff. This takes place 3 feet from where I am sitting. Yikes, how uncomfortable. The massage was just okay. Don't think I will be going back. read more

I've been a customer here for about 6 or 7 years now and really appreciate the staff and the quality of service. Sandra is a great esthetician, and Christie is a wonderful massage therapist. The only reason I hesitate to write about them is I don't want it to be harder to get an appt. I need my Sandra and Christie time!! But I'm sharing them anyway. Michelle, Judy and Sarah are also great massage therapists. Each of them is different, but they are all really good. Love this place and all the people here!!! read more

When searching for vendors for a telecommunication company's corporate "WELLNESS" event I reached out to several companies that offer reflexology services. I left several messages and many companies just wouldn't respond. When I reached out to Relaxing Alternatives Wellness Center, the manager, Randy returned my call right away and was able to schedule 2 therapists to come to the office and perform amazing foot reflexology massages on many of the employees. The co-owner/therapist Judy, did an amazing job of demonstrating the pressure points in the feet and expressing the importance of staying balanced. I got so much positive feedback from the employees that the team leader says she will be contacting them again for future wellness events. I didn't get to experience the massage that day but will definitely be contacting them for many of the other services they offer. Keep up the AMAZING wellness work Relaxing Alternatives, you are doing great things for this community!! read more

If you are nervous about seeing a chiropractor, yet you're feeling out of balance, check out Dr. Karen DiBlasio. Her technique is amazingly gentle yet effective. Dr. Karen is one of the most well-educated and sensitive chiropractors I've met -- and I've been getting chiropractic treatments since the 80s. read more

I have been going here for over a year. I go to Sandra for facials. She is wonderful. She gives a great facial massage. And the products she uses are all natural and wonderful for all skin types. Sandra is super friendly and listens to all your facial needs and concerns. If you want a great facial and facial massage, I would suggest you make an appointment with Sandra. The center does offer all types of services, but I have not tried them. read more

So good! I had a prenatal massage and loved every minute of it. Highly recommend this place. It's modest, clean, and the staff is lovely. I am going back for another prenatal massage in two weeks and I can't wait. read more

MICHELLE is a FANTASTIC experienced therapist! I went in this week while visiting from out of town, with neck and hip pain. She brought me such RELIEF! She is strong but very good at varying the pressure. She seemed to know instinctively where my pain was and exactly how to work i it out.. Only an experienced and well trained therapist knows how to do this. I have been getting massages for 15 years in cities all around the country due to travel. I also have a regular therapist back home, who I have gone to for many years. Michelle is definitely one of the best therapists I have ever had. The center is clean and quiet, located in an office building with easy parking. A true gem! read more

I had an awesome massage here today; it was my first visit. The manager, Randy, was very accommodating with scheduling. Michelle is a terrific massage therapist. I definitely will return. read more

I get massages and flexology done by Michelle regularly for several years now. She was able to get a knot out of my back from an accident in 2009 and helps with my foot and ankle issues. They also offer essential oils among various other services, but i have not used those. If you need a massage to relax, check them out. read more

Since I've been cleaning up my eating habits and trying to get healthy, I decided to follow a friend's advice about colon hydrotherapy and give it a try. I found Relaxing Alternatives via Google search and made an appointment. Their website features a first-time client coupon for $15.00 off of your first service. Deborah is an extremely competent, sweet, and professional lady who walked this slightly nervous first-timer through the colon hydrotherapy process. It had the potential to make me feel squeamish, embarrassed, and uncomfortable, but Deborah's friendly and efficient manner made it a much more comfortable process. Their facilities are very clean and pleasant. Not many frills, but it doesn't need them. For the colon hydrotherapy services I've been receiving, they make every possible consideration for the client's comfort and relaxation. I have been back several times since to repeat the service and always leave feeling better, healthier, and more energetic than when I went in. read more

THANK YOU YELP! I came here for my first bikini wax ever in my life (and I made it a brazillian!) you guys were spot on about the tips about Sandra. I was so terrified in the waiting room that I was actually shaking. Sandra is so sweet and she put me at ease right away. She explained the whole process and made the whole thing seem very ordinary and non frightening. She stepped outside while I undressed and was very careful to keep me covered when not working. Very clean. She used honey wax and strips and still somehow made the whole thing so relatively painless, and this being my first time I was very pleased. She worked quickly and in no time it was over! :) She also gave me some tips on my skin and made product suggestions without attempting to sell them to me as she didn't carry them which was nice. Total price was $65 which is comparable to everywhere else except this experience was amazing and will definitely be going back! read more

The Rocks n' Raindrop massage from Marcie Miller = Heaven on Earth. I have had my fair share of massages in my lifetime, and this was the most relaxing one I've ever had. Thank you so much! read more

I have been going to have for almost 10 years. They quite recently moved to Frederick road in Gaithersburg, you will have to call and get the new address. Sandra is God sent. The prices are reasonable, but Sandra works with me, and she knows the skin so well, she will tell you exactly what your skin needs, and will give you samples if needed. Sandra will spend time with you and when she's done, you will not want to leave. Puts me to sleep many times. I had such problem skin, and uneven skin tone, and about 10 years ago, I decided I needed regular facials. Well, I am so glad I found relaxing alternative. My skin gets many and many compliments now, and I feel so much better now because I look better and am comfortable now that the uneven tone has disapeared. They use all natural products, and it is amazing what nature iand Sandra are able to do for your skin. read more

I've been to Sandra for Brazilian waxes and facials. She's amazing. The only reason my rating is 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the price. read more

Looking for a great Brazilian? It's your first time getting a Brazilian? Ask for Sandra! I had been looking into getting a Brazilian for a while but always chickened out due to the horror stories and movies. I did a lot of research and saw Sandra got great reviews on Yelp. Me being a dedicated Yelper and believer I made an appointment with Sandra. I insisted my boyfriend come with me to me some moral support and so it wouldn't be awkward in case it did get awkward. When I first went in it was very clean and relaxing, Sandra introduced herself and as soon as I started talking to her I loved her personality. She made it very easy for me to relax and communicated with me about everything that I needed to do, what she was going to do, and her techniques as well as making sure I was breathing. Sandra said she would do some test strips, if it was too much she wouldn't proceed. She had me lay down on a table/bed put two lights over my hoo-hah, took a towel and covered below so nothing was exposed as well as using the towel as a guideline. When she did the first two test strips, I did not feel anything so it made her go on to proceed to other parts and asked if it hurt. Once she had done my right side, I asked her if the test was done and the three of us began to laugh which made me relax even more. I was also glad to have my boyfriend with me to help keep the conversation going when I became tense. She told me she would make it look very pretty (lol) and she even told me she does her own Brazilians so she knows how she feels when she does it (impressive.) It was all done withing a matter of 30 minutes. I will need to come back sooner than a month since my hair will grow back faster but after the second and third time it won't be as soon. I highly, highly, recommend Sandra. She is professional, knows her stuff, and glad she made my first experience an awesome one. There's nothing like having a bad experience and remembering it forever. The Brazilian came to $60....this is a great price from other places I have seen like $85 at Red Door Salon. Sandra also does facials and will have to look into that some other time. read more

I've only had a few massages but the one Marcy gave me today far exceeded all others! Very professional and relaxing. Can't wait for the next one! She focused on my entire body and spent time on trouble spots. read more

I had to reschedule me appointment twice due to work. The second time I called the front desk person seemed like she was annoyed that I was calling to yet again...reschedule. Anyway, when I arrived I was greeted and asked to sign some new patient paperwork (1 page) very short. I got a deep tissue massage from Michelle & it was wonderful. By the way this was my first time in life getting a professional massage. She made me feel comfortable and welcome. I left the wellness center feeling soo relaxed & asking myself why I hadn't done this sooner. I give it 4 stars. Highly recommended! read more

I purchased a Groupon for a year of Brazilian waxes here. It was a risk, I know, but the Groupon ended up averaging out to just over $20/wax, which I couldn't argue. I wanted to wait before I wrote the review because...sometimes you discover a couple weeks after a wax that it wasn't as good as you thought. Well, that's not the case here. Sandra is absolutely divine. She makes sure she gets every last hair. TMI, but here goes, if you have issues with ingrown hairs she'll get them and discuss ways in which to decrease, etc. I enjoyed my waxes so much that when I started having issues with acne I started going to her for facials. They were wonderful! Unfortunately they can no longer be a part of my budget, but I wish they could. I would leave the appointment smelling my upper lip because it smelled like smoothie. My skin was so smooth and soft. I need to allocate money in my budget towards another facial soon! read more

This was my first visit here and my first session of hydrotherapy. Denese is amazing! She is incredibly knowledgeable and makes you feel very at ease. She made sure I was comfortable during my session and was very attentive. The office isn't as modern as it could be, but the service surpasses far what I'd expected based initially on looks! I would return and would recommend. read more

I came here for Brazilian waxing a couple times (I had a coupon). I'm not a huge fan of the location, but it's close to where I live. Very nice customer service, but my waxing was okay. Sandra is EXTREMELY friendly, but is a little chatty for me. My waxes weren't very consistent either. I've been there maybe 3 or 4 times, but only once did I notice she took EXTRA care of my lady region... I would have appreciated that care if it were consistent! read more

This is simply the best place to go for any of your relaxative options. I do my facials, massage, reflexology here and I have never had any reason to go elsewhere. I have been going here for close to 7 years now. I have a bad adult acne issue and since going here, I have had the best result for my face. The determination of Noya to resolve my acne issues has been profound. She works with me to find the next treatment for my face and she sure writes everything dow so she can track the treatment process. This is just the best place to be for real. Try it out and you will never be disappointed. Just ask for Noya. You know a good facial when the person giving the facial is always fully booked. read more

I've been coming here for about 4 years for hydrotherapy. Karen is the best. Not only does she do an excellent job at explaining the process, she also has amazing charts that explain exactly what a colonic does, the benefits of them and the importance of regular cleansing to your overall well-being. I always feel 100 percent better after having a series. I would highly recommend her if you are having any digestive disorders (constipation, bloating, stomach cramping, etc.) There is a reason behind it!! You will be amazed at what a little water will do! read more

I've had massages from Michelle for a few years, she really is terrific. She has an intuitive & firm touch. She is a true professional.

Wonderful facility. The staff is knowledgeable, professional and very caring. Relaxing Alternatives offers many services.

Great friendly staff. Massage therapy was one of the best ever had. Will be coming back for facial.

Just had my first appointment for Acupuncture with Amy. She is incredibly knowledgeable and highly professional. Her assessment is thorough and I found the treatment to be effective. I've only been here for massage, but Marcie does amazing work. I'll be returning.

I have been using massage therapy for 28 years, and have become quite picky in my therapists, and I have extremely high expectations! I have been coming to Relaxing Alternatives for about 10 years after I moved to the area from Silver Spring. I fretted about finding a good therapist who truly understood therapeutic massage. I found a variety of great therapist who had specialties in many areas. I finally found a therapist that met my style and have been with Christie for about 7 years. I have recommended her to several friends who also have become faithful followers. The Wellness Center is an inviting, professional atmosphere offering an array of holistic treatments. There is truly something for everyone! read more

Sandra for waxing --I had my first ever brazilian wax with her. She was wonderful. Made me feel normal (not awkward) She talked to me about regular things the entire time so it helped take my mind off the pain. The room is small but relaxing. I love the smell. Wash your hands first because she has you rub oil/lotion (whatever you need) all over the area waxed afterwards to soothe. She spoke to me about skin care regimen I should follow and about other svcs. she provides but she wasn't pushy. I have already went back to her after my first time 3 weeks ago. The price for brazilian is $60 but if you buy a pack of 6, its only $210. Bikini wax is only $25. She is a licensed aesthetician!!!! That is what I value. Sure I could pay less some places for a brazilian, but not by someone who is licensed! People who do that in my opinion are risking way too much. I will definitely keep going back to Sandra. She rocks! read more

I been going to relaxing Alternatives for years. Michelle is very professional, she is the best. Judy is the best reflexology.

I have been going to Sandra for several years now for her amazing, all natural, custom facials. She is very skilled but just as important she is very in tuned with your entire body and what it is saying (or screaming)! I went to her recently for a 90 minute facial and it was amazing. It was a combo deep cleansing and facial massage. I was very tense so she loosened me up some first to get me ready for my facial. She is amazing and Randy, one of the owners (don't know the other one) is always nice and accommodating. I wish I could afford to come more often tor their services;. Highly recommend. read more
