Went for the first time with a friend and we really enjoyed ourselves. We had lots of fun and plan to return on a busier night to have even more fun! The staff were friendly and helpful. My only complaint is some of the showers ran cold. read more

This place was great and I can't imagine how fun it will be, especially when it is a Friday or Saturday and it has many people. There are several saunas the best thing was the sex dungeon as I like to call it. Everything you could ever think of in your wildest fantasy. They've got it. Condoms are tossed around like peanuts. I stopped by Flex on my way home from Cleveland to Cincinnati area. I had heard that the place was run down and "seedy". I wanted to see if I would ever use FLEX for a hotel for future travel. I was pleasantly surprised as to how welcoming the staff was and how clean everything I saw seemed to be. I loved the huge jacuzzi which was so relaxing. The pool was cooler but felt great after overheating in the jacuzzi. I wandered the hallways and rooms on the 2nd floor and discovered different play areas and video theatres. Overall I enjoyed my visit of four hours and I really didn't want to leave to start my journey back to Cincinnati. I am satisfied that I would stay at FLEX in a future trip through Cleveland. The hotel rooms are on the second level with all the other rooms. They are just bigger rooms with larger beds with toilet & shower in some. read more

I visited Flex again recently, and while I am still a fan, I'm going to dock it a star -- This place has so much potential -- because they offer hotel rooms, it could truly be a Palm Springs style resort in the midwest -- a mini vacation for travelers and locals alike. But it falls short in a couple of areas: Since the last time I visited, they seem to have lost their liquor license. Their bar/lounge area used to serve food and drinks and they seemed to have stopped both. It's unfortunate as that was such a wonderful feature to this place. In addition, the hotel rooms are so oddly placed in the establishment -- I stayed for two nights and had a very hard time sleeping -- I could hear the thumping club-style music in my room all night. Even ear plugs didn't help. I noted this in my previous review, but it feels like the music has gotten considerably louder (or perhaps I've just gotten older). I was also disappointed that they do not seem to clean the rooms during your stay. They do have a quiet section on the first floor -- where one can't hear the music -- but those rooms are not hotel rooms -- and as I understand it, one must rent them out in 8 hour chunks -- not really practical if you are coming from out of town and want to stay for a few nights. But I am still a fan -- the staff is mostly cordial and polite (there was an exception to this, but it seemed jut to be him). And this is still a spectacular facility with a great gym, steam, sauna, indoor and outdoor pools, an outdoor 'beach', Jacuzzi, and several play areas and corners to get lost in and get better acquainted with a new friend. Atmosphere is fun and lively. Friday nights are black out nights, so you walk into a very upbeat and euphoric scene where all the normal warm whites are traded in for UV/Black lights and party strobe lighting - safe spaces remain lit with normal lighting to provide people with a little peace of mind if the whole blackout thing overwhelms you. As far as service goes, the staff does very well to make everyone feel safe and tries to help as much as they can. You just have to keep in mind that when you're in a place like this, well, any bathhouse, you need to listen to the directions that the staff give you, and utilize things such as the false bottoms, lockers, putting valuables in your car ... It's for your own protection and your own good! It's not their responsibility to find your phone if someone steals it - because if someone DID manage to steal it, 99% of the time, it's because the rules were not followed as shown and explained and that's NOT on Flex, all in all - had a fun few nights that I will definitely never forget! So go check it out! Highly recommended to bring a street smart gay friend with you if common sense isn't your strong suit! read more

Today June 24th, I went to the front desk to report that someone tried to steal a guy's phone. Both he and I were there to witness it...That's not even the troubling park. I reported it to front desk and the manager practically harassed me for making them aware of the situation. His frustration with me makes me questions the ethical behavior of the staff. He treated me poorly for doing the right thing. What example are they setting. Everyone is a paying customer and we almost were robbed and he focused his hostility towards me. There's something wrong going on in there. I hope this review will shed some light for you guys and help with some accountability. These guys can't go to the bathhouse and tell their friends to join for the purpose of stealing when people literally have their pants down. Be alert when here and report it to authorities not for the sake of yourself but the people after you who face the same ordeal However, the venue itself is nice and big and clean so I raised it from a 1 star to 2 star. However when you have paying customers, you need to protect them and their privacy to the best of your ability. The staff as well as some of the guests might be there to loot your stuff and belongings. And a lawsuit could be in order if there is proof of misconduct. Total crap hole! Compared to what it was when humans ran it. When the boys are done chatting with their coworkers, they might check you in, of course they have to find out what's available first-take a sack lunch while you wait! Hotel room over $150.00 on a weeknight! No A/C TV doesn't work, Pool is very murky (Illegal to have open if you can't see the bottom drain) Bar closed for good (turned into a stage) Kitchen closed, Sling support beam hanging in GH room, Half the video screens show "Error" messages, double sheets on a queen bed, shredded mattress protector and, with no shower drain cover, don't catch your heal, fall and die from a concussion! Staff doesn't want to be bothered with anything, period! You're on your own. This place, and their customer service, makes Akron Sauna feel like the Hyatt! Lockers, for a very short visit, seem to be the only worth this place has anymore. Such a shame...when it opened it was as nice as the staff and everything worked with constant upgrades. A great place to spend a cold winter night! The facility is clean and well kept. The hotel rooms although remodeled are a bit pricy , unless you can catch a mid-week half price special rate. With a club this large ,it always feels empty even when there are a lot of people here. I highly recommend the whole flex experience. read more

The facilities are very impressive. The entire complex is an immense labyrinth the goes on and on. The outdoor pool is heated, the roof top beach has a nice skyline view of Cleveland, and all the inside facilities feel clean, not spotless but definitely very clean. The attached gym has a great selection of current equipment in good working condition. I did not have a drink at the bar but it looked okay though the bartender was not friendly. The pricing is very reasonable for what you get. My one day membership and standard room was $32.00 all together. I did not see any of the hotel parts but heard good things about them from a regular. The indoor attractions such as the pools, saunas, lounges and movie room well exceeded my expectations. The dungeons and glory hole areas were nice but more standard fair. The steam room was huge and had a primal cave man design, which i liked. However the steam room did have puddles. The standard rooms on the second floor were good, but they did not have lockers in them you instead use a locker at the front desk. The also had a large wooden bench with a pillow and sheets but not a mattress or cushion. The first floor upgraded rooms had nice beds with real sheets and duvets with a bedside stand and chair. There was plenty of room for 4-6 people if you do not mind being close. The crowd was the typical for most bathhouses that I have been to: about 10% of the guys were college age, 25% were very attractive, 40% were good looking or better and the remaining 60% were older, not in shape and less than okay looking. I had a pushiness/trailing problem with a very small portion of the older guys (2 in my case), which has never happened to me before before at other bathhouses, as soon as I was vocally loud about it in a crowded area it stopped though. A couple local regulars I talked to said Saturday nights and the Monday specials are the busiest times. I was there on a Friday night and there were probably 60-75 guys there. The location is 2600 Hamilton Ave, Yelp had another address listed that I went to first. It is in a sketchy part of the city so walk swiftly. The path was mainly just abandoned roads when I was walking there at 11:00pm. Note that you must go through the parking lot entrance to get to the entrance to the spa I walked around the building for a while trying to figure out how to get in worried that it was closed. The staff, aside from the cleaning staff who were very congenial, were not rude but they were not polite either. They were just monotonous and not well trained. No greetings when I came in or left for the night and the minor difference between not asking "How may I help you?" or "Would you like...?" and asking "What do you want?" instead. My only complaints would be that there are no complimentary lube or condom offerings, which I think of as standard at bathhouses, especially condoms. There is also a limited porn selection on the TV's and some of it is straight. read more

Nice place, just don't expect the staff to be anything approaching polite. If you aske questions at check in be fully prepared to be yelled at. Overall the facility is very nice. By far the nicest one I've been to. Pool, sauna, and huge open shower area are very nice. Puddles of water in the steam maze is a bit gros though. read more

I had another "first" today (7/13/18). I was planning on meeting friends today at Flex for a day of relaxation. Upon checkin I was notified that I have been placed on a "banned list" from Flex by the manager. I hadn't attended Flex since last fall but have been a long-time supporter of the facility for over a decade. I was told that I was banned because of an "incident" in the fall. The only incident that happened I the fall was that I had completed an online Yelp review after my visit in the summer of '17. At the time of that visit I was shocked at the lack of cleanliness of the facility (towels scattered in the hallway, pool area, video rooms, etc.), used condoms on the floor, and showers, commodes, and urinals that were broken and not working. It was also a day that Flex was promoting a free noon barbecue meal for all (if memory serves me right it was Independence Day weekend). The individual on duty that day only grilled 6 burgers and 1 package of hot dogs and there were many more men there than that would adequately feed. When the cook was asked if he would be grilling more his answer was "no" and once these were gone they were gone. The reason I had even considered doing the review was that I had been told that Flex had recently been purchased and was under managememt. These conditions were so far removed from the Flex that I had visited numerous times each year during the last decade or so. I would have thought the new ownership would have appreciated an honest review of their facility and maybe all of these things I had experienced were an anomaly. In fact i sent a separate courtesy email to the manager to make him aware i had made that review on Yelp. I did eventually receive a follow-up email from the manager where he essentially told me he would be checking into my concerns and asked me to provide him with my name and contact information so he could do a followup. Apparently my providing him with that information is what was needed for his banning me. At no time was I told or notified by him that I was now banned from Flex. I spent an entire career working with the public and I understand that sometimes that can be challenging. If the new owners only want "positive" reviews then they are selling their business and employees short. Constructive criticism, in my opinion, is invaluable. It's often those "wake up calls" that lead us to reevaluate the way we are doing business. I was disappointed that I wasn't able to go to Flex today. I had heard things had gotten better and I was willing to again spend my hard-earned money and see for myself. Unfortunately, the management apparently didn't see fit for that to happen and my only recourse is to talk with him when he comes back to work on Monday. I live 4 1/2 hours away from Cleveland and am only here for the weekend so meeting him is not a possibility. read more

Visited Flex on a Tuesday evening in December around 11. I arrived and was able to check in pretty smoothly. Grabbed a Quiet Cabana on the first floor because the attendant told me the beds were better than the flat mats in the standard Cabanas upstairs. Quiet Cabanas are cool if you want to lounge around or sleep. I like the freedom of nudity, so it was cool to chill in the buff for a moment alone before checking out the place. The bed was really comfortable. The place is huge. There were a number of people wading and relaxing in the nice sized whirlpool. There was no fuss and everyone was friendly and cool. The water temperature could have been 5 to 10 degrees warmer for me to really enjoy a good soak. The dry sauna on the first floor was also not as warm, so I gave up on it. I really enjoyed exploring and sweating in the cave-like sauna with its many dark mysterious areas. The floor attendant who kept walking through was cool and looked like he wanted to stop working and hang out with me, but he kept it professional; maybe another time. The second floor was much busier than the first with lots of TVs and motivational movies for anyone looking for some inspiration. The room with the bar was great. No drinks were served, but the pool table, comfy sofas and all were great. Upstairs showers were not working, but the dry sauna was hotter than downstairs. Stretched out on my towel to enjoy the heat and a good sweat. In no time at all, I had attracted a fair amount of attention. No one spoke, but soon the sauna started filling up. With my bare ass kissing soaking up the heat, a couple of brothers came over and showed me some deep, penetrating love. One gave me a deep, penetrating rubdown while the other got down to business with a large tool that I could handle initially. But after a few tries, he got right in there and did some work. The entire room really filled up as the three of us went at it, and everyone seemed to enjoy the action. I certainly had a great time. I was all sorts of wobbly when I finally called uncle! Overall, I would give Flex an 8 on a 10 scale. More heat in the whirlpool and dry saunas would have put it over the top. People were cool. Will definitely visit again. It was totally worth it! Must be a lot of fun on nights with more than 15 - 20 guys in the entire place. Looking forward to coming back! read more

I have now visited all Flex locations across the nation and by far, this one is the worst. Although facilities are nice and kept clean, the staff is horrendous; totally disrespectful of patrons. On the evening of my visit, I was one of perhaps five customers; the only one checking in. After entering the lobby, I waited 15 minutes while the queen working the counter, spoke loudly on her cell phone, laughing and obviously having a great time, while I stood there. When she finally checked me in, still while on her phone, the only thing she said to me was that they were out of towels and sheets and that she would bring them to my room once available. Seeing no one in the halls or anywhere else in the facility, since I took the time to tour while awaiting my towel and sheets, I went to my room and waited. Some 30 - 45 minutes later nothing had arrived so I returned to the front counter where she was still on her phone and asked about towels and sheets. She threw them at me! Unable to catch them all, the pillow case landed on the floor so I asked for a replacement. She told me there would be a $10 charge to replace linens!! Honestly!!?? I paid the $10, returned to my room and tried to enjoy the evening. In total, I saw four other gentlemen at the facility, saw zero action and after about an hour decided to leave. As I left, there was a new person working the front counter and although he wasn't on the phone, he in no way displayed excellent customer service, just glared at me as I deposited my sheet, pillowcase and towel. Flex is the only bath house in Cleveland now and it still not very busy. You would wonder were all the guys are going. I think Craig's list has taken alot away from going out and finding guys on there own. It's easier to stay home and have them come to you. Right??? But they are missing a good time...Just being there is a turn on walking around naked with other guys is fun. There is always somthing for somebody walking around. We decided to spend part of our extended July 4th holiday at Flex in Cleveland. We've been there many times over the past 6-8 years making the 4+ hour drive one-way to get there. When we attended on Sun. July 2, 2017, we were shocked and disappointed at several things. First off we noticed that there were bins of towels and dirty linens sitting around throughout the facility. I can't ever remember seeing that in the past but my first thought was, "OK, it's been a busy weekend and maybe they are short staffed and haven't been able to keep up". It didn't take long to see that dirty linens were the least of the problems this establishment is now having. Upon going to use the 2nd floor restroom nearly all of the urinals and commodes had signs indicating they were out of order. I can understand one or two but that many? The same thing happened with the adjoining showers. On one wall all but one shower was inoperable and and two showers on the opposite wall had signs indicating they didn't work either. The "beach deck" had obviously not been cleaned in awhile. There were several paper cups sitting around containing "who knows what". Many cigarette butts were in the sand even though there were numerous signs indicating no smoking was permitted in that area. Since heavy rains had hit the area the night before someone on staff should have raked the sand (yes, there was a rake nearby but it had not been used) to make it look more attractive. Flex was touting a free Sunday BBQ for all paid attendees that day at 2pm. What a joke!!! The staff member who made the "meal" (believe me, it was far from a meal) made only 6 burgers and a package of hot dogs for the entire group that was attending that day. There was a half-filled bowl of chips and a half-filled bowl of potato salad. Many men were in line waiting to get food when the last burger and hot dog were taken off the serving platter. Rather than the staffer apologizing or making more, he simply took his nose out of his smart phone long enough to say that's all he was making. So much for a BBQ for ALL paid attendees. By the way, a sign clearly reads that cell phones are strictly forbidden inside the facility. Someone needs to tell the staff about this as this "grill meister" was constantly on his. The weather was beautiful on this Sunday so we decided to take a dip in the outside pool. Another disaster!!! The pool had obviously not been cleaned out in quite some time. There were cigarette butts and filters in the bottom of the pool and dead insects floating all around. Dirt and other items were on the bottom and gathered in the corners of the pool. (Maybe the grill cook could clean the pool since he obviously didn't spend much time grilling for the gathering. He seemed to have lots of free time to spend on his phone.) As stated earlier, we've spent many days/nights/weekends at Flex and the hotel rooms over the years. I'm not sure what the issues are that they are currently having but I seriously doubt that I'll ever return to the facility again unless many of these shortcomings are corrected. I need to spend my money and time wisely and the $26 dollars I spent for a day pass on this day was a complete and total waste. read more

AWFUL, dangerous, and dirty/..what a mess! I had been there 3 yrs ago, and maybe its under new management? When I got there, 2 cars in the parking lot on a Friday afternoon. That should have sent me scramming. When I paid the membership and for a room, I asked for a lock box, they don't have any he said, we are not responsible for theft/...and then I got to the room, dirty and wrappers on the floor from prior use and not thorough cleaning/ so I guess I wanted to touch nothing in the room/...and no remote for the tv, guy at desk said I had to punch the buttons on the top of the tv, 2 were missing and it was very high up./ the place is huge, and seems to be nice, until you look closer./ rust on the railings to the downstairs, and no urinals , just 3 toilets downstairs The upstairs baths were roped off/ and then the shower upstairs had a 3 inch gap with no protection to get into the shower, very dangerous. The pool had red mold all around the edges, (doesn't the health dept come in here?) and numerous dead plants around it/ ...yes dead . The whirlpool was going but it smelled of rotten scum. It was HOT, and they had large fans running- but no air conditioning/ (prolly why all of the metal railings had rust all along them).. upstairs was slightly cooler, but clearly not ran very cold to help from germs multiplying in my mind. There was dirt and things all in the upstairs tv room, which is a sex den of some kind/ ...no one had cleaned it recently. Really dirty place, and of course, they had copy paper stapled signs all over "no refunds". this place has truly gone down the tubes/..I will not be back. oh and it never did pick up in the 2 hrs I was there/ and again, the whole time I worried about scraping myself or sitting on any surfaces, just disgusting . read more

Very very poorly paid staff for what they are required to do. Management seems poorly trained in customer service and relies on kickbacks. Jim needs to be fired as he fails to protect his customers. Potentially a lovely and friendly place that could be a true value to the community if only the staff was changed and given decent working wages. Enjoy the pool and the hot and cold water tubs, quiet rooms are a great idea also. The owners are negligent and lots of the stuff there is peeling. At least your feet don't stick to the floor. Reasonably priced if not on the weekend. I was looking forward to it as an occasional spa day because of the pool but the gay bashing and theft wrecked it for me. Also, how many slings do you really need? How much do they pay the police off, just out of curiousity. Snack machines need to be more thoughtfully and healthfully stocked. Music sucks because it is so repetitive. Tons of code violations could shut it down so the owners better invest a bit more. Good luck. It deserves five stars if only judging by size, but by overall experience, definitely 3 stars. The management seems to have a problem with maintenance, of showers and sauna. Crowds have been thin on weekends, despite promotions to beef up the traffic. Mostly older men, especially less attractive ones. The bathhouse scene in Cleveland has declined in recent years. The other baths in town- Club Cleveland- closed recently. Flex is the only game in town, and not busy most of the town. One would expect Saturday night to be jumping, but often the hot guys are few and far between. The size has its disadvantages too. So many hallways and rooms that it can be very easy to miss the man youre looking for. Also the neighborhood is sketchy- mostly day laborers and homeless wandering back streets near the railroad tracks. Two gay bars, though, are close by, Mean Bull on Hamilton Ave and Leather Stallion on St Clair. read more

Outstanding facility. This is a spa retreat location in the heart of Cleveland Ohio. This has a state of the art wet area, full gym, steam and sauna and luxury hotel rooms-the presidential suite has piano in it as well. Every Monday ( not on holidays) the rate for a standard locker is $1.00. The place is packed with good looking guys that want to play. A good mix of all age groups, nationalities, and demographics. Saturday night is very busy for out of town gentlemen and they have special theme parties such as Claw (a leather event) which are really spectacular. This venue has a full service bar attached-The Mean Bull, as well as a club bar in the Flex complex next to the outdoor swimming pool. In the summer they have a real sand upper sun deck and they host outdoor patio parties that draw quite a crowd for a nice tea dance on Sunday. The facility also as free internet wi-fi and offer four personal PC to use in the lounge area. The lounge has a separate room that features a full service professional massage therapist for after your work out massage or just a day at the spa. Book early for hotel rooms on major event days since they sell out early. Off street parking that is will lit and secure gated by brick concrete walls for privacy while at the club. Live DJ's spin on the weekends that are broadcasted live online as well. A quite sections of the venue offers patrons an area to relax without music for an extended stay, some rooms even have personal and private bathrooms and large flat screens for the pleasure of the executive quest. ok, i should preface this, yes, i know what a bath house is and i know what a hotel is and yes, i have experienced bath house/ hotels in other countries and some have been 1'sand some have been 4's. 1. great place if you're looking to hook up. the vast pools and steam rooms were clean, but definitely could have been cleaner. 2.not a great place to sleep if you're looking for 'hotel accommodations', but will do in a pinch. food at he bar was typical bar food from a frozen bag. beware in winter, they do not offer heat in the 'hotel' rooms or if they do it is minimal. i requested a space heater..after searching for 45 minutes, they found one ...it did not quite help. the interior of the building, the temperature seemed fine. bed had seen it's day. 3. staff was involved in their own little groups of friends so trying to get something without interrupting a conversation was a bit 'gannoying'. like i said, great for a hook up, probably a better hotel if you need to stay in Cleveland for a night or two. read more
