Firstly, the smell of the flowers was amazing and this was aided by the simplistic, warming exterior that brought a sparkle of colour to an otherwise dull part of Ormiston Terrace. Upon entering the shop, you find yourself travelling down a channel of pristinely arranged bouquets leading down to the service counter. The staff are extremely helpful and responded to all my queries with a cheerful mannerism and without any hesitation. The range of services available is vast, as mentioned in the previous review, and the staff are more than happy to give you advice on what would be most appropriate for your intended purpose. Unfortunately due to my budget constraints, I left with the smallest rose available... but a pleasant experience nonetheless.

They do beautiful displays of flowers immediately outside the shop, and in the windows. For me, the reason to go here. Chocolate! Harvest Garden is the only Scottish, if not UK stockist of Laura Secord. These are gorgeous chocolates that I first had in Canada. Beware, these are not cheap! In season, they sell chocolate figs. These are handmade in someone's house in Spain. Basically, it is a fresh fig that has chocolate fondant in the middle, then they are foil wrapped. That description could never do them justice though. I am always guaranteed to find what I want here for birthdays, christmas etc. There is a good range of chocolate stocked, and a price to suit all pockets. I haven't made it to the handmade chocolate counter yet though.....

Prices too were to my liking, with plants beginning at £1.99, climbing to £16.99; not bad at all considering the variety and range. Inside was a similar story, but most of these displats were examples of made to order displays, also reasonable priced. The staff were helpful and friendly and made decding on a style in my price range easy as pie! In addition to the bouquets and and plants, Williamson's also sells beautiful garden ornaments, mirrors, hanging baskets as well as a multitude of other items to fulfill your every gardening whim!

Buyer be ware. Bought my friend roses for her birthday and sent them via interFlora. She received…read morethem and two days later they were dead. She contacted Williamsons in Corstorphine who apologised and said they would replace the flowers. The following morning a new hand tie arrived only to find three of the roses were dead. My friend contacted Williamsons once again who sent three roses and left them on her doorstep. Very angry she called them again and they apologised and said they would replace the hand tie bouquet. For the third time a new hand tied bouquet arrived and again the roses were soft and lasted two days. She called the chief executive of Williamsons who give her all this rubbish about plunging roses into hot water daily for 10 minutes and cutting two inches of the stem every day because roses of the hardest flower to manage. Having owned my own florist this is nonsense the flowers are not fresh and had not been conditioned properly. Do not touch this rogue florist you'll waste your money. My other friend had a bad experience With her fathers funeral flowers which were just as mentioned above dead on arrival at the crematorium. I am going through Chemo at the moment and they wanted to be sure that I had a beautiful bouquet from them. Anyway, it was delivered one day late and half dead - I called to complain saying that it would be going in the bin on the Thursday and the lovely lady on the phone arranged a "like for like" pick up and drop off for the next day. Well the delivery was dully made and this bouquet was a 1/3 of the size of the original - again, I'm not happy. I call again to explain the situation and another helpful lady promised me a call from the MD of the company the following day, saying that if he didn't call, then she certainly would. No call from either of them. I have also emailed (no response). Very shoddy service.

I've always found her pricing reasonable and if you want something to match a hat or handbag for a wedding she can be very creative. Her winter sale is good, this a great opportunity to get things like headresses and tiaras. My sister even bought a few for her daughter to dress up with as they were so reasonable. This shop even runs flower arranging classes which sound fun, but I never have the time.
