Suffice to say, I now have very bad and severe lower back pain now and my back never really gave me an issue until I went her a few times. My wife also went in once, she had to have surgery on her neck because of what this "Doctor" did to her. This "doctor" doesn't "know what he is doing, sorry to say. I've tried pain management doctors, physical therapists, orthopedic specialists, massage therapists & acupuncturists all over the country- to no avail... That is, until I discovered Dr. Gatlin. First, she really listens to you. Instead of doing the same treatment each time, she checks out your whole spine on every visit to determine what needs to be adjusted that day, using the highly effective Gonstead Method . She was the only doctor among dozens nationwide & in New Bern who detected my hip was out of line where the car struck me, & began to fix my gait, letting me start walking pain-free for the first time in years. Finally, she doesn't add on unnecessary (& costly) treatments, has Friday hours, short wait times, & keeps you laughing. I've had to move away for work, but plan to visit her each time I'm back near New Bern, MCAS Cherry Point or Havelock NC. My advice? Run, don't limp to see her... After having to pay privately for xrays and an exam (they said it wasn't covered by Medicare or Champ VA), I was wrestled (his words) by Dr. Smith. Being 63 years old, he treated my body like I was a teenage boy with his disregard for my discomfort and age. At the end of his manipulation, I complained of a severe headache. They had me sit down and Dr. Smith saw me after a while. Because 20 minutes had passed, I told him that the headache wasn't as severe, however, the headache continued for 5 days and I let the office know of this debilitating problem. Not once did the doctor contact me to follow up on this problem. I feel like they simply wanted to profit from my pain with no concern for my complaint. I won't be returning to this practice.
