We were referred to Running Wild in Davenport, IA by some of her classmates and the other parents...and I am SO GLAD that we were! Upon entering Running Wild, we were immediately and warmly welcomed, accompanied by a "how can we help you today?". My daughter described what she was looking for, and the salesman went to the back & brought out 3 boxes of shoes. My daughter tried on all 3 and fell in love with running shoe pair #2! This has NEVER happened in the history of our family! I was thrilled not to be "running wild" around the QCA for an entire weekend, looking for "the perfect pair of running shoes"! I was also pleasantly surprised to learn that Running Wild gives a portion of the sales back to the area high schools as well! Needless to say, a few weeks later, we were looking for a Garmin Forerunner 55 in black...and after calling at least a dozen stores in the area to no avail, Running Wild had them on the shelf...at the same price as AMAZON.COM! You can shop for running supplies for days in the QCA, only to come up empty-handed and frustrated...or you can drive straight to Running Wild for great selection, great prices, and great people that give back to the community! We couldn't be happier, and the customer experience was second to none. Thank you Running Wild...we'll definitely be back!

Then - the cashier! The queen of eye rolls! She asked me a question that sounded like a mumble - I literally had zero idea what she asked. So, she said it louder, after rolling her eyes, but in the same mumbling voice. We asked if we got the BOGO special, and she said "I guess, you got some discount" - then she simply walked away. I mean, sorry you hate your job! I can't imagine acting that way at work. Nobody here seemed happy. I was glad they had the shoes we wanted, but left feeling like we had been a massive inconvenience to the employees.

Not only was the staff rude, but the management staff was disrespectful. I did not get loud or disrespectful with any of the staff, yet they treated me as though I were an insane woman. I asked a few questions. After several rude comments, I finally said "It is fine. I just won't come back." The manager then said "Well what did you expect? We don't give away items for free." It always amazes me the way these employees talk to customers. If it were not for us, none of you would even have a job. There are too many shoe stores in the area for me to worry about this place!

We're alright. You don't have to spend a lot to look good, but a little extra never hurt. Shirts, suits, and ties at The Gentry Shop may cost a little more, but you get what you pay for. This is a haberdashery, not the denim and gun aisle at Walmart. Gentlemen of height greater than average will appreciate the fine tailoring done here, particularly with respect to neckties. For those 6'2" and above--not an insignificant percentage of modern American males--standard length ties will simply not do the job. Starting a unicorn ranch is easier than finding handsome, quality extra long ties. But there's hope. The Gentry Shop (although they do have a few good long ties) will expertly lengthen a regular tie and ship it to you.
