I got 3 quotes, before Flatlanders Tree Service, on the job we needed done, in which all of those quotes were outlandishly unaffordable. Dennis and his crew were awesome. We had a HUGE pecan tree to cut. Initially the plan was to cut it all the way down and grind the stump. I told Dennis the tree had been in our backyard most of life, my dad planted it. I was a little sad seeing it go. Dennis told me he could cut it back to about 10' or so (all branches gone) and it would probably grow back, but not be a problem for our house. This was the route we took. It worked, we have some branches and leaves. Just enough shade and tree for the birds and squirrels. Our tree was very large, but I was never nervous about anything falling on our house, etc. Dennis is very knowledgeable on how to trim and remove trees, even very large ones. I told Dennis I would love to save pieces and have them carved. He cut pieces the right length for the carver to carve a bear or Raider reds. The carver picked them up and said the pieces were perfect for what I wanted. Dennis didn't have to do this for us, but he did and not extra charge. I would highly recommend Flatlanders for any tree trimming or removal you might need. read more

Dennis does great work at a great price. He's a really nice guy and easy to get along with. I really like Dennis and his work. The problem is, he scheduled a job and I never heard from him again. I called dozens of times and left a bunch of voicemails and never got a call back. Then he showed up at my house with a legitimate reason for leaving me out to dry. He rescheduled for the next week. Again he no showed, and again I haven't heard from him. I've called and left voicemails and agin he is not calling me back. If you can get him, I highly recommend hiring him. Dennis the owner is very knowledgeable about trees and removal of trees. I watched him amazingly taking down our lighting-struck big red oak, about 50 years old tree. He is very professional, honest, friendly with very reasonable price without sacrificing quality of his work. I had called one of the big companies in town to give me an estimate and they asked for a fee just to come out to talk to me. I saw one 5 stars review of this company. Low number of reviews tends to be less reliable but I decided to call them anyway. Dennis came right out to meet me and explained to me what needed to be done. Gave me his quote. We arranged for a time for him to start working on it. I highly recommend his company to anyone. We do not have enough reviews on tree services in this city. read more

WOW!! These guys Rock!! They did an outstanding job removing my Sycamore out of the back yard. This tree was the biggest tree on the entire block and it was dying at a fast rate of speed. It looked like it was going to split in 1/3 rd's and take out the neighbors house, our house and the pool in one fell swoop. They came in first thing in the morning and by 9:20pm they were done. They have to come back tomorrow for about an hour to finish up. It got dark on them is why they had to quit. However the entire tree is down and removed from the yard except what I wanted to keep for firewood. They even brought rakes and raked everything up. If you need someone who you can trust to get the job done right this is your man! He is also insured so you can rest easy there. I would give more stars if the option was available. read more

My neighbor had a very large mulberry tree that he wanted removed. It was very close to my fence and a lot of the limbs hung over my yard. I didn't think anyone could remove the tree without damaging my fence or my house or the neighbors house. Dennis, the owner of Flatlanders, came by and took a look and gave my neighbor a quote. Dennis and his helper started work the next morning and worked all that day and the next day. They cut down that huge tree and hauled it all off. Then they cleaned up and put everything back in place. Nothing was damaged. I highly recommend Flatlanders Tree Service. Dennis and his crew know what they are doing and do a very good job. Just wanted to verify a previous review that did not post correctly, my fault I am sure. We had several trees cut down and they did a great job. They were there when they said they would be and stayed until the job was completed. I had a dead limb fall across the lines coming in from the alley and I called and Dennis and he came out and cut it off the lines. I have no complaints and would recommend them. I called several places to get a quote, and Flatlanders were on the ball. Everything about this company was prompt and professional. Flatlanders removed a 70 foot pine tree that was a couple of inches from the house and did an outstanding job.
