I took a different cab downtown and it cost me $13.00 from my apartment to Navy Pier, so I would love to know how it can be that my same ride back home cost $23?!! I did not see any traffic and you took me to a part of the city I NEVER saw before, then got back on the highway the first guy took to get me downtown! He even had the nerve to get mad at me for paying with a credit card! I called flash cab before leaving to do groceries at walmart and they told me no problem. I called at checkout and was told 10-15 min wait. I called every half hour after that. I never got a cab and after 3.5 hours and half ruined groceries later walmart got me a cab with sure cab. It's really ZERO stars ! I reserved a Flash taxi 2 days in advance , because we needed wheelchair lift . I was told no problem, they'd be there , even pretty reasonable rates. At 8:20 I called again only to be told they had no idea if anybody was going to come. I took public transportation and missed my meeting. I booked a Flash cab on line (Chicagotaxiservice.com / taximagic.com) two hours before I needed to be picked up. I received a confirmation that it would arrive within a 15 minute time frame but it never did. I called and was informed that there was no cab available and they had no idea when there would be. They didn't call me ahead of time when they realized no cab would be able to pick me up so I could try another company or alternative arrangements. In addition, when I have used Flash, the drivers have to be told how to get me to my destination -- if I wasn't raised in Chicago, I wouldn't be able to give them any idea. DO NOT CALL THEM unless you are downtown and going somewhere else near downtown or well known, such as O'Hare. I placed an order for a Flash Cab this morning (April 9, 2014) to be picked up at 6:30 pm, rec'd confirmation that cab 16240 would arrive at 6:30 and have me at my destination at 6:45 pm. Around 6:15 pm someone called and said they would pick me up in about an hour. At 7:10 pm I called to see where the cab was and was told, no cab was available. - poor, poor service, none dependable. Absolutely horrible customer service. My wife left a suitcase in the cab and after 24 hours they are still telling us they cannot contact the driver. He has a radio and cell phone but no one is concerned that he is completely off the grid. He could be dead in an alley or chopping up a fare and no one cares. "Our drivers are independent and make their own hours, they don't have to respond to us" was the customer service response. Lost and found is a dead end voice mail box that apparently no one listens to since after a half dozen messages no one has contacted us. Will NEVER use this company again after terrifying ride with Flash cab #5827 driver Ahkim on July 4, 2015. This driver was verbally threatening and irrational, took us to wrong hotel, drove us around 46 minutes on and off of highways and closed ramps, would not listen to us. My daughter called their office twice while we were in the cab, but no one would help. We finally felt so threatened when he took off toward Indiana that we got out of cab, paid him almost 60.00, and called state police. We were still ten miles from our hotel and headed the wrong direction. The state police escorted us to our hotel. Have called company repeatedly, NO RESPONSE!! Worst CAB service ever. Booked a cab well in advance at 10:17pm for 10:50pm. At 1050 no cab and they're awful app is down again like it usually is. Get a call at 1052 that they're running a little late due to the weather and how many calls they've gotten but because I made a reservation I have priority and that he'll call me back with a time. NEVER GOT A CALL AGAIN. Got a notification a new cab was dispatched 6mi away and 12mins. Waited 10. Cabs still sitting at OHARE airport never moved. I called and said I want another cab immediately. They said 5-15minutes the cab should be there. The woman lies and says a cab was there and u missed it. No I didn't no one came the guy who called told me that. She says oh I'm sorry. Blatantly lying trying to make their failure to pick me up with a reservation MY FAULT. After waiting AGAIN I cancelled. Rebook 4mins and 0.9mi away. My area SWARMING with cabs. I think like 6 at least. I didn't get home until 11:45 nearly an hr after I had the cab originally scheduled for pickup and almosy 2hrs since reserving it. I shouldn't have even paid the driver I should have told him to call his boss and they can pay the bill. I use them all the time,between me and my bf almost daily. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. I could have walked and been home faster. Which I started to do and then they said the cab was dispatched that never left OHARE. I had been using Flash Cab for years. However, the last two years the service has gone down the drain. They boast their online cab ordering service for need it now or future cab rides. I travel often so I always call the night before to order a cab to take me to O'Hare. The last few years I have noticed service tanking. However, the last three times I ordered a cab they were no shows. You order your cab, they give you a confirmation number. The next morning, well before the cab is set to arrive, they will call and give you the cab number. Each time, its been already 20 minutes past the time I ordered the cab for when a dispatcher calls and says, "sorry we can't find a cab". WAIT... you just gave me a cab number last time you called!! So I got frustrated the last time this happened because it was becoming a regular happening. I didn't yell but vocally was upset. The woman I spoke to said, "well what happens is they are enroute to you and decide to pick someone up on the way or they ignore their monitors". I was ticked off with this excuse. So I ordered over 12 hours ago, they get assigned to my request, and on the way they say screw it... I am going to make a little extra dough.. or are they saying screw it I changed my mind and decided I don't want to drive to the airport?? What's with that? The woman says "well they need to make a living". I responded and said a long drive to the airport is going to yield them more cash on an early weekend morning than picking up someone doing the walk of shame on an early Saturday. ON top of that what's the point then of having a reservation system? She said well let me call you back and I will find someone ASAP. She calls back 15 minutes later and says, "hey I found you a cab and told him to go directly to your house but another dispacther says you aren't answering your phone and driver says he knocked on door". I finally said forget it I will walk about a mile to the Blue Line and maybe spot a cab on the way. As I walk out my front door and get 50 ft from my house a Flash Cab pulls up. The driver asks my name and he says, "I am the cab that first got assigned to you... sorry I am a little late". REALLY?? LOL. Dude you are almost an hour late. All three times flash cab said no problem, and all three times when the cab pulled up the driver refused my beagle and i. If i did'nt call back and notify FLASH CAB that i and the dog were refused by the driver,[for religious reasons] they would never know. My dog was very ill and suffering in pain. I have used flash cab a few times in the past. Sometimes flagging them down from the curb side no issues here. Once to the air port which they were late but I made my flight out of O'hare. Another time scheduling pickup the night before then the following day taking the metra train from downtown at 530pm and hoping for a pick up from train stop to home. But waited 30 min no flash cab. Called to see if cab was coming armed with my confirmation # to no avail. I was told by dispatcher that no one was sent and they were to busy to send anyone. That was when I was done with rude "flash cab". Until last night when I was coming back from a professional meeting waiting at a red light stopped and I was then hit from behind. I looked in the rear view mirror and who did I find the elusive "flash cab". I get out of my car and the driver gets out of cab #4898 taking headphones out of both ears and said what happened. I used to call a cab when I was running late for work and the red line was going through some really hectic construction. I tried Yellow Cab twice and ditched that idea after they just didn't show up two times in a row. Then I started trying Flash Cab. For a long time Flash Cab and I were really good friends. I'd make a reservation on the website for ass crack of dawn hours, I'd have a ride to work in the freezing cold and dark. Then things started to turn sour. They started to show up 15 min to a half hour late, if at all. The customer service reps seemed irritated when I would call looking for the cab I ordered 30 min ago. It seemed like every time I called, I was placed at the bottom of the list as a new order. I sat down one day and seriously did the math. A terrible company. Every time I need a cab and allow at least an hour or more (for immediate cabs) I get blown off. No cabs, or I get multiple updates of how they are getting ever and ever closer, but never showing up. Don't try reserving a cab a day in advance either. I'm writing this as I wait for my half hour late cab. I sopke to a customer service rep ten minutes ago, who claimed she would call me back in three minutes, and still nothing. These cab companies are something else. Unless they pick up a fare on the street, they don't come get you. This is not the first time. I've almost missed flights, bummed rides from family or friends, only to get my cab confirm call as I'm checking my bags with ten minutes to board. And I have never expected a cab immediately at my home. If I need a cab I expect an hour. But If I reserve a cab a day early, they better assign a cab to get the customer. Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! Because of Flash Cab I was LATE FOR A FLIGHT! The cab driver was 15 minutes late and I"m not going overboard when I say this guy was didn't know what he was doing. Every time I ordered a cab on-line from Flash they were always 10 to 20 minutes early so I wrongly figured I could cut it a little close since I'm only 10 minutes away from the airport. Boy, was I wrong. I got the text the driver was coming 20 minutes from when he was supposed to be there and I thought good, he will be 10 minutes early since he's only .9 miles away. So I waited and waited outside until I had to call about his tardiness. I got what I envisioned a bored-with-her-job, couldn't care less lady on the phone. She didn't want to hear my details or me venting and cut me off to tell me she'll call him. A lot of good that does me! Do I call a new cab? Do I walk? Do I hitchhike? Or do I wait like the schmuck they made me feel like? 5 minutes later I get a call from this guy and he's lost. He expected me to give directions when I didn't even know where was. Ever hear of GPS? He did say he was sorry and this could have been redeeming, but he ended up ruining that. He came and didn't know how to get to the airport so I had to wing directions again not knowing the driving conditions of the usual route (which was the route he came from) was clogged with construction and traffic. I'm having a heart attack in the backseat and he has the nerve to ask "are you late?" Duh! I only said that 20 times on the phone with him and that other girl! Then, asshole doesn't get my luggage out because he's fiddling with my credit when we finally do arrive and if enough, wasn't enough, he berates me, the scorned customer! He said I wasn't being realistic and I should have known traffic would make me late. What?!?! and the 20 minutes late he was didn't count. He exccpeted he wasn't getting a tip, but kept trashing me! It came to the point I told him to FUCK OFF and he was just tying me up more. Sure enough, I missed check-in by 5 minutes. Thanks asshole! And this little trip to the airport cost me an additional $105 to change flights! No you're not getting a tip and NO I don't feel empathy for him doing a bad job! I'm never doing business with Flash again. This bad apple spoiled the bunch and now I'm going to park and take a shuttle, because it's less of a headache. Their service sucks! So many times I thought I was going to die in a cab because they drive like they got their license yesterday! I'm afraid enough of them being on the road when I'm driving next to one. I'm DONE! Let this be a warning: DO NOT depend on Flash Cab if you really need to get somewhere on time. I needed to get to my destination at 5 PM when I was expected to arrive. I called at about 3:45 to request a cab show up around 4:45 since the destination is only about ten minutes away by cab. I was carrying with me seven heavy boxes so could not walk it. At 4:45 PM I'm standing outside my home and the phone rings and the guy from the cab company says "We haven't found a cab for you yet, we'll let you know when we do" and he hung up. Fifteen minutes later I call to find out what is going on and another guy tells me their cabs are "running about 15 to 20 minutes late" in my neighborhood. I ask, from when, from NOW, because you're already 15 minutes late and he tells me it could be another 15 to 20 minutes from now. After about 10 minutes a flash cab drives by and I wave at him and he just keeps on driving. I call the company and they tell me, "That wasn't your cab." I ask could they please call me in five minutes to let me know what's up because I'm already extremely late. They say they will but then they never do. Twenty minutes later I'm rushing around trying to call another taxi company and within minutes Checker cab says they have someone on the way but guess what, Flash Cab finally shows up an hour late so the poor Checker guy wasted his time too. Then the driver took the absolutely slowest route possible in order to jack up the fair. We sat at the corner of Augusta an Ashland for at least ten minutes waiting for our chance to make a left turn when the driver could have just taken Western to Division and then that would have been a straight shot. I do not know what is up with Flash Cab; they were completely apathetic to my plight and thought I should just understand that they were running late. If they were unable to pick me up on time why didn't they just tell me that at 3;45 so that I could have called someone else. I will NEVER call them EVER again. read more

On 11/29/16 I ordered a cab from your company #200687. The cab never came. I contacted the service number and the operator informed me that the driver "picked someone else up by accident" and ordered me another cab which was 5491. I got the call from your company that my cab was waiting outside. I go outside to a sitting cab that looks me right in the eyes and drives off. I even ran for the cab he slows down and continues to drive. I contact the number again FURIOUS by now because as you can see from you documentation I am an hour in and 2 cabs from getting home. The operator had NO REMORSE as she stated she was send another cab and to wait 10 more minutes. Only a fool would've done that. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Flash Cab used to be my go-to cab company. I see them everywhere all the time. Called them for a ride one morning, it was POURING rain. I called them at 6:00 a.m. - to make sure they could get me. No problem. Scheduled a pick up at 7:30. No problem. 7:30 rolls around -- NO CAB!!! BIG problem. So I called them back. Where's the cab? Oh, sorry - really busy - so much rain - don't know how long... blah, blah, blah. Might have been nice to get a text... call back... smoke signal... something. I figured, oh well, things happen. Couple of weeks go by... I have a ton of paperwork to haul into the office. Called them again - get the text that the cab's been dispatched. Get another text, then a call, cab has arrived. Haul all my stuff down stairs - no cab. BIG problem. So I called them again. Where's my cab? Oh sorry, driver picked up someone else at your building. Okay. Send another cab. 10 minutes later they show up. Fast forward to this morning. 7:00 a.m. I call for a 7:30 cab. Head downstairs at 7:20. Get my text - cab has been dispatched. Then wait. Nothing. 7:30. I call them. Where's my cab? It's been dispatched, any minute now. 7:35, 7:40.... WTF? I call again. Oh, so sorry, they picked up someone else at your building. This time I'll have them get your name. Sorry - this time I'm not biting. I've been standing here for 20 minutes. No cab has shown up. No one else got in it. I'm done. NO more flash cab for me. If they want to use an automated system that's fine. But when someone calls and schedules taxi service, they send a text that the cab's been dispatched, and the STILL don't show up. Nope. No more. Fairly prompt and pretty good service when they show up. Having said that, they don't usually show up. Here's the deal - when you "reserve" a taxi in advance for a certain time, that doesn't mean you're reserving a taxi in the traditional sense of the word. You need to speak "Flash CabSpeak" - So when they say "we have a taxi reserved for you at 9 am to go to O'Hare for an 11:00 flight," they actually mean "we will try to find you a cab starting at 8:45 am, but if none are available, you won't get your cab and, by the way, we won't call you to tell you it's not going to be on time, and when you call at 9:15 to ask where it is, we'll tell you we can't find a cab and ask if you still want us to try." Then you go on Uber and get one right away and, at 10:15 when they call to say 'hey, we're outside your house' and you're at your gate at O'Hare, you should tell them "no thanks, and sorry I didn't call to tell you I didn't need the cab, but I was under the impression you guys didn't like the concept of "calling with updates."" read more

I filed a complaint back in March about someone charging me a fuel surcharge and then when confronting the driver he ignored me and talked on his cell phone the rest of the trip to the airport. After filing my complaint, someone called me back and said that they would look into it and get back to me. Noone has it has been almost two months. I called the city and filed a complaint and they got back to me with a letter saying they put it on record with my driver that he was charging me a fuel surcharge which DOES NOT EXSIST anymore when you take a taxi in Chicago. Then on Saturday (May 12th) I ordered a cab at 6:03 PM for a 6:15 pick up, no cab ever came, and at 6:35 I was using the texting feature that they have, it kept saying another taxi was on the way, could they call me to take another order etc. and then 45 minutes went by and no one called me and no taxi EVER came by. I am going to call the city and make another complaint if I do not hear back from someone at this company with the complaint that I filed today, I feel like I am being discriminated against because I am young white female and that this company has something against young white females who need your services. Many times when I hail a cab and it is flash cab they treat me with disrespect, purposely take a longer route, drive extra slow to run up the meter etc. Which further makes me feel that the drivers, who have all been men, are discriminatory against white females like myself and they think we are stupid. read more

I was just going across town during my lunch hour to grab a Christmas gift. I hopped in cab number #5375 and was immediately concerned. The cab was an absolute mess and the driver did not even say hello. As he pulled away after I gave him my address he began taking his hands off the wheel to play with stuff on the passenger seat. He started swerving and I told him once to watch out. He continued to try to get something out of his coat pocket on the passenger seat and swerved into the other lane hitting a truck at a red light. Instead of stopping he sped after the truck (who did not stop either). I asked to be immediately let out. He said no, that he needed to get the licence number of the truck (which makes sense), but he did not need 5 blocks to do it. He was right behind the truck.
