DON'T USE THIS COMPANY - We ordered two dumpsters, second dumpster was dropped off Saturday, the 15th of last month. They couldn't pick up at the end of the day but told me they would get it Monday at 1pm. We went out Monday morning to the job site to take off the tarps (due to nonstop rain) off. They didn't show up until Wednesday - This was for my home that burned down. The dumpster was full of insulation and burnt coals and wood. Needless to say they soaked up the rain! When I called to pay the additional invoice, I asked that they take off some weight due to their delay (not mine). They refused! So unless you want to throw away money - fine. But in my situation, I was shocked and horrified that they would take advantage of people in desperate situations! read more

I ordered a dumpster and said I'd like it picked up after two days (which is what Robbie said was standard). I said I wanted to avoid people rummaging in it or dumping extra things that were not mine. They assured me it would be picked up promptly. But in fact, despite repeated requests I made after day three, the dumpster remained 14 days! During this time people rummaged in it and left trash on street, and dumped more stuff including tires and a TV which Flannner'ys charged me an extra $256 for. read more

I am a contractor and use Flannery's often. Never had a problem. Sometimes they don't pickup boxes when they say they will but not a huge deal for me. Drivers are kind and call me when on their way so I can meet them at jobsite and situate Dropbox where needed. read more

Flannery's Drop Box Service - This is what flannery's did and left it like that. Worst customer service. - Fences & Gates Near Me - Troutdale, Oregon

We used their service in July 2016 through a contractor and paid ourselves. I personally gave two checks and they had my visa # on record. We had two boxes and I called them after the 2nd box was taken - to make sure we were all even. Apparently the overage charge from the 2nd box was never applied, no one called me - nobody billed me - for 6 months when I got a call in Jan 2017. Once I reviewed my records and talked with them again, I sent them a check in February 2017, which they cashed few days later. Now it's April 2017 and I have been turned into collections for something I paid back in February and it would have been paid in July if their record keepers would have just called me. Its getting fixed, but if you don't want to be turned into a collection agency unwarranted, beware! read more

Flannery's "profit above all else" company dropped a box in the driveway between my neighbor and I yesterday. In doing so, they drove back and forth multiple times over our bushes and ripped up the turf on our grass. When calling them to inquire what they would do about it, no apology was offered, and now after 24 hours, we have not heard back from them. At a family meeting last night with our son, we decided that next week we'll meet downtown with my wonderful sister-in-law, a partner in one of PDX's largest law firms, to see how we can proceed in suing them for damages done plus attorney's fees. They could have made this better so easily and cheaply, but instead they are now going to reap a ton of lousy publicity and have to pay 5 times what it would have cost to do the ethical thing. Caveat Emptor - Buyer Beware! I work with contractors, and subcontractors throughout the State of Oregon. After researching local drop box companies, we decided to call Flannery's due to the clear pricing on your website, and the conversation we had with Tom. Tom was very courteous, helpful, and answered our questions re: possible charges, etc. We were very specific with him in our discussion ensuring we were crystal clear on all aspects of working with your company. Tom clearly stated the following: 1 - "With the 30 yard box you have 5,000 lbs. limit." (On the ticket/invoice that was mailed to me #564991, the actual rate is blocked out - what are you hiding?) Why are you gouging the customer? 2 - Tom also stated that as long as there are no "hazardous materials/chemicals, no appliances, or electronics there would be no additional costs. He also stated that the fee's quoted included drop off, and dumping. There would be no additional fees if we had the boxes only for the duration specified. (From your web site "There Is a $5.00 - $10.00 Charge for Each Additional Day or $25.00 - $50.00 Charge per Week".) We never went over on the additional day charge. 3 - From your web site: Dumpster Prices: 10-Yard Container (2,000 Pounds) - $245.00 20-Yard Container (4,000 Pounds) - $345.00 30-Yard Container (5,000 Pounds) - $395.00 40-Yard Container (6,000 Pounds) - $445.00 There is NOTHING here that indicates there will be hundreds of dollars in additional fees! On the web site it states "prices are subject to change." (This is why we spent the time we did on the phone with Tom, so we would have a clear understanding.) After receiving your invoices recently, I feel that there is a serious problem. We were under the distinct impression that when we paid these deposits/fees, there were no additional fees due, because we did not have "hazardous materials, appliances or electronics." We have already paid a total of: $1,480.00 dollars in fees, for (1) 40yd. box, (2) 30 yd. boxes, and (1) 10 yd. box. We feel that based on a lack of disclosure, and misleading representation, the additional fees of: $521.45 are unfounded, and bordering on the unethical, bait & switch laws prohibited in the State of Oregon. NOTE: Adding insult to injury - I was forced to deal with Robby for scheduling and payment processing. Sadly, Robby's bad attitude toward myself, made the entire process feel very discriminatory, as I am a woman business owner. Right away, it was obvious that Robby is not a person you want answering your phones, or someone who should deal with customers, period! If you are a woman, you can feel the hate in his voice. Robby was rude and was caught lying by his drivers and my Project Manager. When I called to inquire about a pick up/delivery he stated "his guy was stuck in traffic on I-84.'" His own delivery driver threw him under the bus saying Robby is an "a - hole, and that Robby forgot to send him out." Wow! I guess you don't have to take my word for it, you can speak to your own employees. My Project Manager, stated the drivers were good guys, and he did not have issues with them. We hope that this posting may help the public make a more informed decision in deciding to use your services and look forward to a remedy to this situation ASAP! We rented a dumpster for a clean up project. I was told I could call for pick up when we were done. Three days later, at 7:00 AM, Flannerys came and took the dumpster with no warning or notice. We weren't anywhere near finished with our project! When I called to see what was going on, they said I should have called to let them know we weren't done with the box..... Really? They wouldn't send the driver back with it, no matter what. Also, they tried to tell me that they had to sneak it out quickly because they had left it in a "franchised area" (Waste Management). While my billing address was in the city of Troutdale, the dumpster was outside of the area. The real reason they came to pick it up was so that it would be gone before the Waste Management trucks came through on garbage day. Bad business. Boo! read more

I love Yelp, but it really wasn't all the helpful when researching dumpster companies (probably because reviewing restaurants is far more fun!). Luckily, though, we subscribe to a pay-to-read-reviews site, where I found wonderful reviews for Flannery's Drop Box Service. I totally see why. We called on a Monday, and the gentleman who answered the phone was able to help us figure out how much dumpster capacity we would need. We spent the next four days filling our new orange friend to the brim. On the alloted day, Flannery's didn't pick up the dumpster, so I gave them a call (after hours). A nice gentleman picked up and said he would have someone out first thing, and that we would not be billed for the extra day. Sure enough, the dumpster was gone by 7:30am the next day and we weren't billed any extra. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. And now, some dumpster tips: --At least at Flannery's, you can mix yard waste, outright trash, and demolition debris in the same dumpster. Sweet! --A 20 yard dumpster is huge. We could not believe how much we were able to fit in ours. And it cost a mere $295. --Having a dumpster means you will have people going through it at all hours. Most of them are nice and leave it in a tidy condition. But some of them, alas, are jerks. So if you're planning to rent a dumpster, plan to fill it as quickly as possible and get rid of it STAT. read more

We sold a house in Portland and the charge for the dropbox from Flannery's was missed as we thought it was included in the closing but in fact it wasn't. A year later we are finding out that it's in collections, along with a hefty late charge.I called Flannery's and explained the misunderstanding and that I was very concerned about a collections problem on our credit report. The owner was very accommodating. She called the collection agency and had the charges removed and I was able to just pay the basic price of what it cost us to have the collection box at our house that we were selling. I felt that they went over the top to be helpful and understanding and I would recommend them to anyone who needed a dropbox. read more

Well honestly after reading some of the mixed reviews I was very tentative about using this company. After a brief conversation with a young gentleman named Scott, who was extremely professional and knowledgeable, I decided to go ahead with the 20 yard dumpster. It arrived exactly on time, and the driver "Brian" even helped me get the doors just right and showed me how to use the t bar thing. The box was a little beat up, and they were a couple days late on picking it up, but they waived the additional charges. All in all these guys are great, at least my experience was. Terrible experience with this company. I'm a general contractor in PDX. They don't bring the drop box on-schdele and I have to send back my worker to the home. And trying to schedule to pick up the box.They are 3 days late. I called them every time, They response "we will pick it up soon" They never showed up on time. And spoke to the owner about this issues, he told me " F word " on the phone and hung up my phone. Really??? I don't think they are not allowed to run the business to client that way. Flannery's has good prices, is helpful on the phone, and delivers/picks up on time. Not sure why all the online review hate but maybe consider they are a dumpster company, not the Ritz Carlton..... They have nevertheless always been happy to answer my questions or give me advice on how to reduce cost on my load, divide a load for better recyclability, etc. For example, it's usually much cheaper to divide a big load so that rocks, dirt, and rubble (which are quite heavy) are dumped separately, rather than mixing them with a load of random items. It's easy to end up over the weight limit and spend way more than you had planned! Ask the dispatcher for advice and you'll be able to better plan for the best options. read more

This company is so unprofessional. First time we used them they brought the 20 yard dumpster as ordered LATE and with a dozen bricks in it!! We insisted they take it dump the bricks for fear they would charge us later for that weight. Fast forward 2 hours they returned 'empty' but now we were 4 hours late into our project. Fine, we improvised. Loaded it up all weekend and called them Monday to pick up. They said they may not make it until the following day but we wouldn't be charged for that. Okay. It remained in our driveway for an additional 3 days because they were 'busy'. Fine. Done. 4 weeks later we are doing additional work, order another dumpster of same size. We call and find out they've raised the price for the same box by $100! Still we need it so we ask if they're available the following week for Mon-Wed. Rob says "yes, we can have it dropped Monday between 9-10 am" Great. I confirm "as long as it is there before 11 am that's fine, we have movers coming to load it at noon" He says again "yes, between 9-10 am" Monday moring 11:15 am ...NO DUMPSTER. We call and are told they are still dumping the items but be there soon... 1 pm NO DUMPSTER. We call again, and are told it's 'on the way'. Meanwhile, the movers have moved everything to the driveway and load as much as they can in our personal trailer that we were reserving for recycling debris. By 2:30 pm...still NO DUMPSTER, we called very upset and called to cancel it. We received NO apology and just a simple "ok, it's cancelled" Wish I had read the reviews on this company the first time, would have saved us a lot of headache and wasted time. I'd give zero stars if I could. Shame on them. read more

Liars and cheaters. In brief, here was my scenario. Call and set up drop and get a price. They said they would email an invoice and did not. Supposed to drop off an invoice when the box was dropped and did not. Call to arrange for pick up and price is $100 more than two different people quoted. Last guy insisted that I did not describe the contents of my box accurately and that was the reason for the discrepancy. Absolutely false. When I began debating the issue (I was frustrated but not being mean) he very quickly went to threats. We had barely got into the conversation when he threatened to dump the contents of the box on site. Scumbag losers. read more

Perhaps the worst run company ever. Wanted to support this guy as we have extended family ties, but Flannery is a downright asshat. Was over four hours late to drop off the box, and DAYS LATE to pick up. I had to extend my excavator and postpone my gravel delivery (costing me $$$). He even had the nerve to yell at me for calling every two hours asking for my box to be dropped off and even hung up on me when I asked if I could at least get a ball park time frame for pick up. Mind you, I made my reservation three weeks in advanced and was nothing but polite on the phone. I'll never use their services again. read more

Flannery's is less than genuine. I ordered two boxes for a quoted price of $600. When the bill came it was $1100. They claimed weight overage and extra days on the site. We had the boxes for about a week each. They did not mention any of the extra charges to us on the phone. When I questioned them, they said that it is printed on their contract. I reminded them that they had dropped the boxes off when I was not present. I had asked for an 11:00 AM drop off time they apparently arrived early so they just left it. How they almost doubled the price is beyond me as we did not fill the boxes to capacity. Pay a little more up front and save the hassles with very rude people. Lesson learned. Go look at city search reviews and you'll find a similar pattern. read more
