The bartenders were welcoming and engaging, and we never felt uncomfortable despite being a group of gals in a new city where we spoke very little of the language. I asked for a nonalcoholic drink with a ginger beer base and I honestly don't quite know what I got but it was tasty and I enjoyed it. I'd say Hemingway is more of a relaxed upscale lounge vibe which is exactly what we wanted (not like a rager bar scene), and definitely worth a stop if you're in the area!

Husband had house red wine (3.50 euros) and I had sangria (4.50 euros). Good pours for both. We started with the red shrimp (gambillos) in a lemongrass sauce, about 6 shrimp for 15 euros. Then grilled octopus (which was very tender) over mash potatos and snap peas for 15 euros. We also had a side of grilled bread (4 pieces) for 3.5. We also ordered the Pepita beef with mash potato but took home for dinner as we were full (18 euros). We finished with the homemade corn ice cream with carmelized popcorn and raspberries, which was very unique at 6.5. We added our names to the wall to top off the meal. Service was quick and friendly. Total bill was 85 euros including 5 drinks. It was our best meal in Barcelona so far.

I first heard about the Dow Jones Bar from TikTok and thought the concept was fascinating. The drinks don't fluctuate much in price, but the drinks are relatively cheap during the stock market crash. This rooftop bar is in the hotel Victor, which also houses a phenomenal restaurant called Mr Porter. I have to say, it's kind of the trifecta. The hotel is nice. Mr Porter's is exquisite! Now back to the Rooftop it's also special and it is unique. The drinks are great. There's a wide selection including specialty drinks. They pour a good stiff drink. No short pours here. The bar has great views, and you can see a Gaudi building right across the street. You can also see Sagrada Família from there. Amazing server, raised in Mexico and worked for Disney in the USA, fabulously hospitable. We wanted a chill place to enjoy a very light dinner, and The Rooftop was perfect. We had non alcoholic ginger beer (Fever Tree label) and hot tea, hummus with beautiful baby carrots, olives, and a salad of diced cucumbers, tomatoes, and a pinch of fresh mint. When it started to rain the servers quickly belied us move to a table under the canopy. Space heaters were nice. We could see one of the Gaudi buildings from our lovely rooftop venue. After dinner we went to the bottom floor, which was full of folks enjoying themselves, playing pool, visiting. Great place.
