We went here for the first time last night and had a wonderful experience! The man at the front hut was so friendly and welcoming and made our night! It was extremely busy and crowded, which is to be expected during the summer. However, even with many groups it moved pretty quickly! All of the holes had cute obstacles and were fun to play. At the end they give everyone lollipops - which was a great addition! The atmosphere is one of the best in LBI in my opinion. They even gave an award for best dressed at the end of the round. This mini golf course is so fun and at $6 a person, it's a place you can't miss in Surf City. My boyfriend and I decided to stop by Flamingo around 9pm on a Saturday night and came with the expectation that it would be busy. We weren't wrong! But this didn't seem to hinder play and it was fun to watch the others in front of you attempt the hole first so you would have an idea of where to hit the ball and where not to. It took us around 45 minutes to complete our full round of 18 holes. Each hole was very unique and some had fun moving elements to make the course more challenging. Flamingo is where LBI plays mini golf. Contrary to other places i've mini golfed (outside LBI, of course) you are free to choose your length of putter, but one does not simply choose a ball - the "correct ball" is bestowed upon you. I don't know what the secret formula or complicated algorithm is, but everyone in my group always ends up with something they like. While out on the course, keep your ears open, as you may very well hear something along the lines of "mbmbmrkjg the person with mbmbirk the baseball mbmrlgh mini golf ball come to the [inaudible] for _____." I've never been called. I don't know what they win. I will find out at some point. ...someday. As implied above, the audio system is likely a relic from the day the place opened so unlike the boarding announcements at EWR you're going to have to pay pretty close attention. The course has its ups and downs in terms of difficulty - each hole commands a certain respect in order to achieve that magical hole in one. Time it right, read the breaks, and choke up on the putter. Even on those short putts...don't assume it's a gimme. At the same time, know when you're defeated. I don't remember what number it is, but the hole where the cup is literally two feet from the start but situated atop a 360-degree hill is either a grand slam or a hole max, and can make or break your game. At the end, you'll have the opportunity to hit your ball into an impossibly small hole for some free games (or a trophy, always take the trophy) and if you miss that, some less difficult but still challenging alternate holes for some coupons. Most times you'll end up missing all of them, however you'll always leave with a dum dum of your choice, easing the pain of your poor performance on 18. Go to Flamingo. Play mini golf. Set records. If you win, get ice cream after. If you lose, get ice cream after. read more

A definite MUST do if you're on LBI !!!! Exactly as I remember it from my youth living on the island. Brings back SOOOOOOO many fond childhood memories. Course is very very well kept for the amount of players it sees. Not one rip/tear in any of the astroturf on any of the 18 holes. Painted obstacles were in very good shape, no peeling or fading. Very challenging too. Just a great time!!! And only $5.00 per person, honestly how can you go wrong to play THE LBI staple of mini golf??!! read more

This is one of the best kept mini golf places we have been to. We go all over playing mini golf. Everything from the 2 gentlemen running the front until we finished our round of golf was great! Flamingo Golf is amazing! I visited recently during a trip to Long Beach Island and had an incredible time playing mini-golf under the sun. There are 17 holes and each one has a fun little spin/trick to it. There are rotating windmills, bridges, lighthouses, bowling balls, etc. And the last hole (which looks like a giant pinball machine) is extra special, since you get a trophy if you make it in. It's incredibly difficult and people who've been visiting this place for years say they've never gotten it in. I tried my best (but alas, it's really just luck, mostly), and did not make it in, but it was still fun to try. Oh, and though I failed quite miserably (it was my second time ever playing mini-golf), I got a "best dressed certificate." I found that hilarious :D read more

The greatest miniature golf course on the planet. My father has been playing since he was five years old. I have been playing since around that age as well. The course is bar none the most unique, consistent, and exciting miniature golf course in the world. I have played it every day I have ever been on the island, and will continue to until I die. Can't wait to take my kids here. One day I will finally get the hole in one on Hole #18. Until then, it's a fight to get on the "Under 33 Club" leaderboard every summer in addition to the Thursday morning tournaments, that people take very seriously. There is no miniature golf course on the island that is even a quarter as good as this one. So don't waste your time trying out others. read more

This is the BEST place for mini-golf on the island! The staff is SO friendly, the place is clean, and the course is fun! It is also VERY family friendly. There are lots of benches for sitting, everyone "wins" a lollipop... even the adults, and many of the holes have moving obstacles! Don't let the wait scare you away. I'd suggest going on a weekday if you are concern about waiting in line. Flamingo Golf is awesome!! The other half & I played through this past Sunday and we had a great time! Everything was so clean and very well maintained. I was glad to see they had their own little parking lot so I didn't have to fight for street parking. I also love that you get a little lollipop at the end, a pleasant surprise! It's pretty good mini golf. Each hole has a nice twist, but it's not too much out of the ordinary. It's a very safe, fun, quick, and fairly easy mini golf course. Reasonably priced at $5 per game. Cash only. No parking lot; you'll have to park on the street. Be careful when parking on the Boulevard. Staff are very friendly, and they hand out free games often. read more

I would strongly recommend this place for young elementary aged kids or those kids that never played mini golf. Great first course!! Challenging but not overly so. Kids can get a hole in one with some luck, even it there is no skill what so ever. Kids loved the moving obstacles and the furniture in the dollhouse. They wanted to take a break and play dollhouse..LOL. Owner is a terrific personality as well. At the end the last hole, you can win a lolly pop or coupon for the next visit. All holes were in working order and place was kept nicely. Its not a lush or fancy as the others on the LBI but it is sure fun to play. Lastly, priced fairly, IMO. read more

This miniature golf course is very unusual for Long Beach Island. This is because all the obstacles on the holes are working properly and nothing is in disrepair or broken. It is not the most challenging course but it is not too easy either. This makes it great for younger players and fun for the family. read more

Best mini golf on LBI. We have been going here for decades. The owner is very friendly and so helpful. The course is spotless.

We played mini golf every day here and this is one of two (Hartland being the other) that we went back to for a 2nd game. It's a nice blench of hard putting holes and gimmicks like windmills and tunnels. There's a few spots on the course that don't dry well after a rain. But they keep the place clean. The 18th hole is one that you putt into a contraption to win free games and stuff. I don't usually like it when the "prize" at the end counts in the game, but it works. My son got the top hole, which counts as a hole in one, and the prize is either 5 free games or a trophy. He choose the trophy and got to put his name in the book. read more

Super fun little course on the island. One of the best, in my opinion! Especially if you're looking for that old-school campy kind of feel. I've been to a few places that have basically just the same hole/layout over and over again with different adornments to make you think it's different than the last hole but really isn't.
