One truly remembers a place this wonderful. Located in beautiful quaint Jonesboro, there are many uniques shops and restaurants. Tennessee Hills offers tastings. The personnel are knowledgeable and friendly. We have had some of the best conversations with the staff and customers. This time we had lunch at the cafe next door. Fantastic food choices the Reuben and spicy chicken sandwiches get my highest recommendation. They offer a great number of mixed drinks made with their craft distilled spirits. Several Sunday football games were on the TVs in the cafe. The mood was festive in the cafe. Tennessee Hills has a new location in Bristol too! We will be back again and again!

From our parking spot, we spotted Tennessee Hills Distillery and knew we needed to check it out. The Tennessee Hills Distillery opened in the historic Salt House of Jonesborough in 2016. We were immediately impressed with the downtown area of Jonesborough and the salt house in which Tennessee Hills Distillery is located. The building itself is amazing and is something that we would love to have as our own. We are drawn to historic commercial buildings that are being preserved and renovated to house businesses and/or homes. After walking inside, we were even more impressed. They were offering complimentary tastings and we decided to participate. We thought the pineapple upside down cake rum was delicious. They have a wide selection of liquor ranging from whiskey, flavored whiskey, rum, flavored rum, gin and vodka. They also have some nice SWAG for purchase and unique gift items. We purchased a bottle of their Pineapple Upside Down Cake Rum to give to our good friends. Overall, this was a great visit and we highly recommend to others.

This place was really cool!…read more Super spacious and an open layout. There was a clever divide set up between the brewery side and the bar side to comply with liquor restrictions. I got a Moscow mule and it was wonderful. The bartender was friendly and fast. Half of my friend group got beers from one side of the bar while the rest of us got drinks from the bar on the other. We came together on the outdoor patio and were able to thoroughly enjoy the afternoon together.

Two other people did arrive just a minute after we started and they were able to get integrated into our group. Our guide gave us fantastic info and even let us smell what they were currently working on. He also answered my many, many questions about the complexities of working so close to the state boarder (I was so curious!). The people who were also on our tour really tried to stir the pot by asking questions about local brewery drama. However, our guide was incredibly gracious and spoke kindly about all his local competitors. I could definitiely see the grit it takes to be a small local producer. We got to see the barrel room and the amount of work it takes to produce and manage all that inventory seems like a lot. After we took our tour, we sampled some of the offerings. They had whiskey, gin, vodka, rum, brandy, and perhaps something else. Much of what they had was quite strong, and really nice quality. I ended up getting some of the golden rum and a couple of other smaller things. This is definitely worth a stop in. The tour and tasting was free and family owners/operators were really nice.

Located 20 minutes outside Asheville,we decided to stop on our way back to Charlotte…read more Very small locally sourced distillery located in a small industrial area . They are a 100 % grain to glass small batch gin and whiskey distillery. They do tastings for only 1.00 each,flights as well as hand crafted cocktails. We tried their Barrel Reserve Gin matured in casks for at least 1 yr,Single Malt Whiskey and their Rye Whiskey. They do sell bottles to go but we're out of the Rye since it is a limited release only available at the distillery. Their spirits are good in taste and are worth a visit.

We were on our way from Columbus, OH to Asheville, NC when we stopped in Johnson City, TN for the…read morenight. My wife saw some information on the historic Town of Jonesborough, TN and we made a last-minute, spur of the moment decsion to take a quick detour to Jonesborough and "just drive through to see it". We ended up stopped at the visitor's center and then spent about 2 hours doing a walking tour of the town. The Town of Jonesborough dates to 1779 and it is the oldest town in the State of Tennesse. The town is a well-deserved but still functioning piece of history. Walking down the main street and reading the history of the town was very interesting and informative. This is one of the best "spur of the moment" side trips we've ever made.

We also grabbed some Cuve this time, along with the spiced old fashioned mix, yum! We're so happy the distillery escaped damage from the recent hurricane remnants, and it was well worth the 30-plus mile detour, just saying! What a beautiful setting they have there. There's a fire pit out back, with woodland views, and Scott's even got some stogies to enjoy with the whiskey. We wish there were more stars to give! and if one has a pet, there's plenty of area to walk and play between sips.

The tasting area is small but we were the only ones there so that was nice. The lady who did the tasting was very nice and did a good job explaining the differences between the products. If you've ever watched the moonshiners on the discovery channel, you've heard of Tim Smith. They carry his products as well. For the tasting, you get 5 they pick (Tim smith bourbon, rye bourbon( snarly yow), 314, peach, and salted Carmel, They let you pick the 6th. I had the apple, husband had the peanut butter. Both were delicious, and you tasted just as described! We also purchased the Old Fashioned pre-made they offer as well as the salted Carmel whiskey! Absolutely fantastic place, make sure you stop by!

Moonshine prepared the old school way with business savvy. Says they sold their first batch and are growing based on demand. Main room has three pot stills with thumpers, they're working on a fourth still. HM is "proof" that with determination and know how, it's possible to make a go of it. Love the spirit - and the spirits! Good luck. PS wasn't sure what what a rating would mean. Mine is for hosting me at their digs.

There is signage to show…read moreyou are going the right way because you feel like you are going in someone's driveway, but follow the signs, and you arrive at the distillery. They do tours and tastings and we arrived just in time to take the tour. The distiller gave lots of information but made sure to explain the process in a way that those of us who just enjoy the drinking part can understand. We had 4 products during the tasting and all were fantastic! My husband loved the smoky one, and the rye was mine. They do offer some cocktails but we unfortunately had to get back on the road. We will be back when in the area. It is out of the way, but 100% worth it.

This is a true small batch distillery and they're making great craft whiskey. Everyone there (three employees) were super friendly and knowledgeable. They only make 2 products, and both are exceptional. It's worth the drive and their whiskey is worth the price. I'll be back next year.
