Copying my Google review from about a year ago here…read more. Great clean, well-maintained and friendly environment. Great play spaces. Heads up for TheClubs.com members... For some reason (buyout/takeover?) they are no longer associated with TheClubs.com, so a membership from one of the other Clubs is no longer honored here; a local daily pass or 6 month membership is required. The staff doesn't know why they are no longer affiliated. They just have a notice behind the desk telling them that none of the other Clubs' memberships are honored anymore. They did credit our daily pass fee toward a 6--month membership (4 visits gives you a full ROI). Curiously, their membership cards still use The Clubs logo and they still have TheClubs.com website on their homepage, even though they are no longer part of it. They are in need of some website cleanup.

This place does not even deserve a single star. Why? They keep your driver's license on your stay…read moreinside that "facility." Why not just take a look at it and return to the customer? There is a possibility that one of their employees could get any information on that piece of document. I already paid the entrance fee which is not refundable per their website. This is the only place in this country that I know would keep someone's driver's license, and I fully regret going there. Alert! They will keep your driver's license. And don't forget to get it back when you leave b/c you don't want to drive without license.

Had a membership when I first moved here about 15 years ago, back when it was known as…read more'Metromuscle.' Wound up canceling and moving on to other big box corporate gyms shortly before the previous owners closed with no notice. From what I understand, they had a couple of more owners after that.. both of which let the gym slide downhill a bit. However, decided to come back just over a year and a half ago as I had heard that they were under different owners, and they dropped a significant amount of money on brand new equipment and ,,,WOW am I impressed! 5 new Power-racks & deadlifting platforms, Cadillac weightlifting bar, specialized/color coded Power, Strength & Squat bars! Talking to one of the front desk employees, he said, "they Purchased over $60,000 of new equipment and kilogram/powerlifting weights." They also have hand sanitizing stations/towels to wipe down all the equipment after you're done using which is great! Especially post-pandemic I've made it a point to support LOCALLY owned businesses and this is def one of the best gyms in Otown! In addition as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community I can say they've always been welcoming to myself and any guests that I've brought with me for a day pass.

I had some mouth-breathing teenage employee come up to me, interrupt my workout, and loudly say…read more"you need to come with me right now because you have a balance and owe the gym money". I didn't even have a balance on my account either, their system didn't update and it was an error on their end. Super unprofessional atmosphere.

Although management spruced up the equipment, added new flooring and painted, the men's locker room…read moreis not great. Not sure if it's the carpet or the ventilation system, but it does have a smell in various areas. I believe some of the smell is due to lockers that do not appear to have been opened in months based on the dust on some of the locks. (See picture. In the past, I was told if members pay their monthly locker charge, there is nothing they can do to alleviate any odors coming from a locker.) The men's steam room had been closed for almost two years as they are "renovating" it. Earlier this year, a sign was posted stating a new boiler was needed and they were requesting donations. (Dues just went up $4/month.) In addition, there are no staff members walking around the Strength Circuit equipment area in the evenings and some members stay at one machine for 10 minutes or longer. They even scroll on their phones even though signs are posted to be "courteous" of others who may want to use the machine. (See picture.) These signs were smaller and posted on each machine, but they seemed to have "disappeared". I have had to repeatedly ask if I could "work in" as some members think they own the machine. Not sure why members have to constantly ask to "work in". Shouldn't the offending members have some responsibilities to follow the rules?!! This past week, I had enough. I addressed one member who constantly uses one machine and scrolls on his phone consistently. I asked if I could work in. He said he had one more rep and didn't realize I wanted in. (This is not the first time he's told me this.) I told him he had been on the machine over 10 minutes and saw me walk by numerous times. Also, I stated scrolling on the phone is not allowed given the signs in this area. I just walked away. Another member (who is a long-time member like me) was at the machine next to him, heard what I said and thanked me. She said he is one of the worst offenders, but there are others just like him. She noted the courtesy rule is 3 reps and move on, plus no scrolling on the phone. She added respect seems to be missing from this gym. Amen! Obviously, management needs to do a better job of handling this situation as a few small signs are not deterring the problem.
