Shell - My pearl white Lexus ES 350 Luxury Edition parked next to the gas pump #3 at this Shell Service Station.

Shell

As I was driving down Franklin Road the other day, I noticed that my Lexus was low on gas, so I…read morestarted looking for a gas station where to fill it with gas. But not just any gas. One that I had filled it with before, and I had noticed the energy and power it had given my Lexus when I pushed the pedal. Shell gas. And so I stopped at the first Shell gas station I happened to run into. After being awarded the NC Triad Yelp Squad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, celebrating their contributions and accomplishments throughout the year, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and businesses, and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And this Shell Service Station located at 3630 Franklin Road in Southwest, Roanoke, Virginia, is a perfect example. Just the other day I had downloaded the Shell app, and had not yet used it before. The Shell app provides benefits like saving money on fuel and in-store purchases through the Fuel Rewards Program. Pay for fuel directly from your cellphone via in-app payments. Find nearby Shell stations and access promotional offers, track your savings, and view digital receipts for all transactions. Monitor your progress in the Fuel Rewards Program. And achieve different status levels like Silver, Gold, or Platinum, which offer varying cents-per-gallon savings. This particular service station has a variety of fuel products including Shell V-Power NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline, Shell Midgrade Gasoline and Shell Regular Gasoline. This station also includes a Convenience Store, Mobile Payments, and an ATM machine. The Convenience Store is named Duck In Market #3. I went inside and it was very clean and organized with many essential products as well as curiosity items such as Troll Dolls. These tiny dolls with long colorful hair were very popular years ago and still retain its nostalgic popularity. They were originally created in 1959 by a Danish woodcutter named Thomas Dam and became a major toy fad in the United States during the early 1960s, with resurgences in popularity throughout the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. They are recognizable by their distinct, somewhat unique look and their signature upright, vibrant hair, which was originally made from sheep's wool.  The app was so convenient and easy to use. Once you connected a credit card to it and are standing next to the Gasoline pump you will be using, it asks you to put in the number of your pump and then this activates the pump so you can pump your gas into your car, and when you finish, you will receive a digital receipt. I also wanted a paper receipt so by going inside the convenience store, the friendly attendant was able to print me one. The reason for the paper receipt is that I have another free rewards app called Fetch where I can earn points on everyday purchases by snapping pictures of my receipts. These points can then be redeemed for gift cards or cash back rewards from various retailers and restaurants. In conclusion I highly recommend this conveniently located gas station for the aforementioned reasons, and plan to continue using it myself in the near future.

Shell

I first found out above it while using my Upside app which offered 18 cents a gallon cash back on Shell Regular gas by purchasing your gas there. If you also have the Shell app you can also take advantage of other features such as In-app payments, where you can make contactless payments at the pump and in the convenience store with Shell Easy Pay, using your app in your cellphone (Mobile Payments), earning and redeeming loyalty awards through the Shell Go+ program, monitoring your points balance, and getting directions to your chosen station, with a list of amenities available at each location. This particular Shell Service Station has the amenities of a Convenience Store, ATM, a Car Wash, Restrooms, Mobile Payments at the Pump, Virginia Lottery, and Loyalty Program. After seeing the offer in the Upside app from this Shell Service Station, I drove up to the pump, and using the Shell app I used the Pay at the Pump feature by setting the pump number I would be using, in the Shell app , and paying with my credit card that I had already saved in the app. While I was doing this, I met the young gentleman in charge of the Car Wash and he seemed very responsible, walking around seeing that cars were washed appropriately. Even though I would receive a paperless receipt of my gas transaction, I went up to the Convenience Store of the Service Station to ask the attendant for a paper receipt. The friendly lady in back of the counter promptly printed me one. I was amazed at how in a very small space this Convenience Store carried so many products. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and the variety of the products sold there. In conclusion, this is the gas service station I currently use the most and highly recommend for the above mentioned reasons, and because I can feel the difference in how my Lexus handles with more energy, when filled with Shell brand gas.

Starting from the replacement of the old Campbell Court bus station to the the award winning Third Street Station, and its replacement by The Bower, a large mixed-use development featuring apartments, retail, dining, and office space, with its new transit hub (Third Street Station) relocated a few blocks away for better integration, and allowing for a vibrant community hub. A young gentleman in his early 30's, graduate of Roanoke Catholic High School, and with an Accounting degree from a major college, and a steady job at a Law Firm downtown, saw the need for a convenience store in the area and when a key location store space became available, he immediately seized the moment, and took the opportunity to open a convenience store which he named The Blue Ridge Bodega. A bodega is more than just a convenience store, it's a place you can go to connect with your neighborhood. And if you live or work in downtown Roanoke, or even if you are a tourist visiting, for that moment in time, it is your neighborhood. And that is precisely why he named it Bodega. He wanted it to be inclusive and welcoming. As a matter of fact one of the things he and his staff do when a new customer enters his store is to ask them what items they think he should carry in the store and he will either provide it to that particular customer in a couple of weeks, or if there a common need, make sure he carries it as a regular store merchandise. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to see for yourselves the enormous variety of products it already stocks after having been opened for only a few months. It also has a second floor with some tables and chairs where customers can stay to enjoy drinking their coffee or eating their hot dog or soup, for a more affordable price than in other more expensive establishments. We welcome this Bodega with open arms because there really was a need for a locally owned and operated store of this nature in this area of the city. And I urge you to give it your total support.
