My original review (9/26/16):…read more I'm so pleased to have found a solid, reliable home cleaning company. The owner, Kat, cleans my house bi-weekly and has a very positive and professional demeanor. She uses non-toxic cleaners in my home and is very sensitive to my needs around chemicals. I love that she aims to please and always wants to do a great job. I've referred her to others, and will continue to do so. Her rates are reasonable and the results speak for themselves. I can't think of a single flaw. She's great and I wish her tremendous success in her new venture. My updated review (11/7/16): I noticed a steadily declining quality of work in and around my house since my review was posted. She spent less and less time at my house and I feel she skipped a lot, though it did look OK. The deeper cleaning seemed to go away. When hired, I requested that the services be cleaned (spray, wipe), and instead they were dusted and then "spot cleaned." Also, having a regular Monday service proved to be very challenging to get her to commit to a regular consistent arrival time (she has a child, to be fair). Finally, I specifically requested non-toxic cleaner agents in my home, and I found that the consistent use of such products were phased out in favor of harsh chemicals, including on my wood floors where I specifically requested no caustic agents. I can't say that Kat is a bad cleaner - she's a decent cleaner and she's very nice. But the issues at hand lead me to be disappointed. I was hoping to discuss this with her today, but after requesting to know what time she'd be arriving (I wasn't home and needed to meet her there to let her in), she fired me as a client. I sincerely have no idea why (and yes, I asked - she refused to respond). I couldn't have been nicer to her throughout the relationship, and referred her as well. I really wanted to help her get clients and grow her business. One other thing to note: she left my house two weeks ago and then posted on Facebook complaining about her day. I asked if it was me, and she claimed "anxiety." Not sure if I believe her now. I did then. Anyway, all very odd, and leaves me feeling content that the relationship has been severed. In conclusion: Kat is very nice and wants to do a good job and support her family. She's eager to please, but has never run a business before (which is totally ok!). She has some lessons to learn, and professional communication is one of them. Would I give her another shot? Sure, but not without a sincere conversation around expectations and communication. Would I recommend her? I would, actually, but I would advise clients to express some leadership with her and create clarity around process, procedure, arrival times, rates and clear deliverables - up front. Had I been able to talk with her today, I would have done that precise thing, after I discovered it was needed. Frankly, it could have changed the outcome. I still wish her tremendous success in her venture. I'm confident she'll figure it out soon.
