I have to say, that Dan is just....one HECK of a guy. FIRST, our story: We used a particular bank (very well known) as our Merchant Services provider in our store. I won't specifically NAME the institution, but...It's a Bank. And it's here in America. They also provided us with the POS system as well. Their sales rep was VERY persuasive, and we signed a contract specifically stating how much we would be charged PER CREDIT CARD SWIPE on the POS. The Bank (the one here in America) honored that for the FIRST TWO months only. By the THIRD month, they MORE THAN TRIPLED the charges!! Let me repeat that...MORE THAN TRIPLED the charges. Phone calls ad infinitum to the rep who sold us on this idea proved pointless. After making ENOUGH calls, he got back to us. He looked over the monthly statements and AGREED... something WAS wrong. He just couldn't understand why we were being charged so much. After THAT call he couldn't be reached week after week. And the charges kept coming month after month. At one point, I calculated that this Bank (you know, the one here in America) owed us over $1,000 due to those TRIPLED RATE OVERCHARGES. We'd finally had enough and wanted to dump them as fast as we could because they were bleeding us monetarily ever single month. We reached out to other small business owners we knew. Ed Bernstein, owner of 25Score in Santa Clarita, referred us to Dan. (FYI: This is where Dan comes in. :) Dan came to our store, looked over all the monthly statements as well as our contract with the bank. Unfortunately, for US, the contract stated we had to continue with our POS and this Bank (the one here in America) and could not be released from either one. However.....Dan ALSO found ADDITIONAL CHARGES on the monthly statements that we were completely unaware of! MORE money being picked from our pockets every month. In fact, the rep for this Bank (the one here in America)...when HE looked over the statements, he only referred to the items I pointed OUT to him; BUT HE DID NOT ALLUDE TO THE ADDITIONAL OVER-CHARGES THAT DAN HAD JUST FOUND!! He HAD to see them! They're right THERE on the statements. BTW...those monthly statements are VERY complicated to read, and probably intentionally so. But DAN could read them easily and HE pointed out that yes, MY assumption was correct. The Bank (the one here in America) WAS overcharging us monthly THREE+ times what was originally contracted. And as I said, in addition, Dan found a number of other financial discrepancies that were costing my wife and I unnecessary dollars every single month. BUT, the contract was in place, and in the end we weren't able to sign with Dan due TO that contract with that Bank (the one here in America). However...that didn't stop DAN! Since it's obvious I had NO idea what I was reading on the monthly statements, DAN offered, gratis, to kind of 'represent' us on the phone with the Bank (the one here in America) or in person!!...because they couldn't BS him like they were doing to US. And THAT told my wife and I all we really needed to know about Dan and the way he conducted his business. He was, as we say back in New York, a stand-up guy. Even though there was a solid reason (the contract) we couldn't do business with him at THAT particular time, what was happening to us was SO egregious to him that he offered to go head-to-head with the bank reps in arguing their blatant mis-use and overcharges on our statements. Dan took an admirable, moral position, and offered to help two people who were being cheated in ways we did't even know. THANK YOU, SIR! You're a Mensch! PS: Unfortunately, we are no longer in business. We've tried to close that Bank account every week for the past 4 months. Even though the business no longer even EXISTS...Merchant Services at this Bank (the one here in America) CONTINUES to charge us. Every. Single. Month. Even though equipment was returned, the POS lease company CONTINUES to charge the account every single month. As of this writing (April 7, 2016) the account is WELL over $1,000 in the NEGATIVE. There's no money there. Nor WILL there be. I have called a TON of times and finally went to their branch IN PERSON to explain to these rocket scientists, under NO CIRCUMSTANCES will we put ANY funds into that account because WE TRIED TO CLOSE IT 4 MONTHS AGO, yet the Bank...for WHATEVER reason, is keeping it OPEN and allowing negative amounts to continue to accumulate when there's no business to draw money FROM. There will never be any other company or person that will convince me that I should change credit card processing companies. Dan Silverman and Fix Pay are the absolute best. Because of Dan, we save so much money and our process is smooth and reliable. We have never had an issue and getting started was scary for me, but Dan made it so simple and took all the fear out of it. I kept waiting for something to go wrong but it never did. Accepting credit cards has made it easier for our customers and so much better for us to collect back payments and not have to wait for a check in the mail that may never come.
