In my opinion if dealing with Fixed Today you should do several things :
1. Get three quotes first
2. Read any document given to you very , very carefully as the document might not record the brand discussed & requested by you but a more generic , cheaper brand could be recorded there .
3. Do not give a deposit until the quote/ invoice records accurately , the brand and item you want , because , if you pay a deposit, this acts like the quid pro quo of a contract you agree to, and, you might have a fight on your hand to get what you actually discussed, asked for and agreed on .
4 . Your calling the Dept. of Fair Trading might just be dismissed scornfully, because the cannot dictate fees charged.
5. Good luck! read more
