I booked a 90 minute deep tissue massage with hot stones using a Groupon deal, and even without the discount, their regular pricing is very reasonable for the quality of work. I tipped in cash at checkout. If you love true deep tissue and not the light, feathery "relaxation only" type of massage, this is your place. I am not a fan of soft massages. I want my knots addressed directly and thoroughly, and A-One delivered exactly that. The reservation process was seamless. They confirmed by text a few days beforehand, which was incredibly convenient. I was able to secure an appointment within a week, even during a holiday weekend. That alone impressed me. My appointment was closer to closing time, and when I arrived about five minutes early, my room was already prepared. No waiting around. Huge bonus. The massage room was clean with fresh linens. Nothing smelled off. Everything felt well maintained. Noise level was zero. I honestly do not think there were any other guests at the time because it was so peaceful. Now the massage itself. Their technique is incredibly on point. I carry a lot of tightness in my neck, shoulders, and upper back. If you struggle with the same areas, you will love their style. They worked deeply and intentionally without it feeling careless or rushed. The 90 minutes went by way too fast. I was genuinely sad when it ended. The hot stones were the perfect finishing touch. The warmth combined with deep pressure made everything melt. And the scalp massage? Completely mind blowing. I did not realize how much tension I was carrying there until that moment. After the session, they offered water and made checkout easy. Scheduling the next appointment was simple. The therapists were kind, professional, and accommodating. They checked in about pressure without disrupting the flow of the massage. I am honestly surprised their Yelp rating is not a full five stars, especially since their Groupon and Google reviews are stellar. I hope more locals give this place a try. I understand sometimes massage makes you sore but this feels like I just got my ass beat. They never asked us what we wanted focus on, never filled out paperwork, which was the first red flag. It felt like they just rubbed each segment of our backs and legs for about 5min straight with their elbows, twice: once over the sheet, again with oil. There was no variety in technique, literally just rubbing each spot in circles with their elbows or hands. I found myself exploring several thoughts during the massage (instead of being immersed with relaxation): "I feel like I could get a better massage from a massage chair than this." "This woman's shoulders must hurt after work cause this has been a straight hour of circles with her shoulder" "I wonder if my partner is having a better experience" "I don't think she actually has a massage license, or she just doesn't care at all." "This feels like a child could do this. I could teach my 6yr old nephew to do this exact technique on me for free." The hot stones were used on us for about 3min max. She did some circles with them of course around my back and legs and then she was done. Then placed a hot towel on my back, wiped the oil off, and then continued to the circles, yet again, over the sheet. They touched the front of us finally for about the last 5-7min of the massage and only did compression on the shoulders, arms and chest. I would have loved if she did more there because that was my target area I wanted, but again, they never bothered to ask us where our target area was. They just give you the standard circle routine they give anyone and everyone. When we were done, nothing was said to us besides "are you okay?" and after we answered, she kept a silence sort of just waiting for the tip and for us to leave. No water was offered, no follow up care really. They were lucky to get a tip from both of us because it was so undeserved.
