Animal Clinic and Hospital…read more I went in to Animal Clinic and Hospital on Andrews on a Friday to get all three of my dogs shots. I asked to also get the rattlesnake shot. When I made the appointment they said no problem. When I get there the vet tells me I can't get their regular shots and the rattlesnake shot on the same day. It's not convenient, but I felt the vet had my dogs well being in mind. No problem, the vet said come back Monday and you don't even need an appointment. I pre paid for the shots and came back the following Monday. When I get there they tell me that I did pre pay for the shots, but there is also a $32.98 technician charge per dog and a $12.50 medical waste charge per dog. Can you believe that, $135 to give three shots I had already paid $100 for. I am definitely looking for a new vet.

I wish I could rate better but I just can't. I absolutely adored the vet I saw today but the…read morepricing was absolutely ridiculous. $216 for an ear infection and that's with first responder discount. There were charges for technician fee and disposal fee for the stuff from cleaning dogs ear. I asked how do I know this stuff even occurred though because you took my dog to another room. They just stated sorry we have to apply a technician fee because mostly always they have to hold the dog. The vet couldn't express how well mannered my dog was while she was cleaning her ear and checking her. And I would have done a deep cleaning myself on her ear if I had been told before the charge associated with that and the fee of throwing stuff away. I unfortunately will not be able to even return probably for my follow up because of the cost. I hate this so much because I have always really liked them and Dr. Miller for years. They actually have a picture of my grand dog in the lobby from a contest many years ago where she ended up being featured in their calendar. Vet I would recommend for sure but absolutely not the pricing you will be charged. It's so sad when you can no longer afford the great care they provide.

I started using the Andrews Veterinary Clinic in my early 20s. That was 20 years ago…read more Now that I am much older and wiser, it's still plain to see that Andrews is the best within 100 mile radius of my house located in New Mexico. They are the most affordable around. They are no nonsense. If it isn't necessary, they aren't going to bring it up & charge you for it like other vet offices. Most of the communication in the patient exam rooms is between the pet owner and the veterinarian, not the vet techs/assistants. I appreciate this because there's been times when other vets didn't spend much time listening to my concerns. This newish facility is very nice & mostly clean. There is one entrance for checkins. A separate door for exiting which makes things a little easier for large, anxious dogs. They have three veterinarians on hand... When I had to make a tough decision pertaining to my feline last winter, Dr. Hada was there every step of the way. This was a difficult time for me & he made sure I understood everything in addition to making me aware of the appropriate costs included. The entire office was very empathetic to my situation. Dr. Mohr administered vaccinations on my brother's pitbull today (5/9/2023). He was friendly & straightforward. Dr. Nave Culbertson has also helped me understand what was going on with a couple of my furry friends. She's very kind. I will definitely be back. I recommend all of my loved ones to go here! TIPS + As soon as they open on Tuesday morning has been the best time to go. + Walk-ins welcome.

We took out 4 month old GSP for her booster shot and nail trim. Due to it being so busy, the vets &…read morerooms were unavailable. The lady working the front desk took her back without letting one of us go back with her. We started to hear crying and thought "no way that's our dog" because we had never heard that cry before. Turns out it was due to her clipping the nails too short. She said that our dog wouldn't sit still which caused her to clip short. But she continued to clip even through her cry. One of her nails was bleeding and our dog was shaken. This had never happened to us before being at this clinic as we always see a vet with the assistant. We had been told prior that her quicks were long so they only clipped a little off her nails every time. Understanding that the assistant probably didn't know this information she still could've proceeded to ask a vet how short to clip. Not pleased with this visit overall. We understand with a busy full load of seeing pets, though we still would've appreciated more professionalism and less blame on the dog for the mistake made.

Worse experience ever! The veterinarian is nice and I have no complaints against him. My complaint…read moreis against his "support staff". I do not know her name, but she is the person you see before the veterinarian...the medical assistant? She is completely worthless. This is supposed to be an "emergency clinic", so you would think when presented with an emergency, life or death situation, the staff would move a little quicker! However, that is NOT the case. I believe this woman could have cared less when I came in. She was unwilling to do anything when I brought my dog in and I had to tell her, demand, that she do something or get the veterinarian. Do you know how much time that wasted?! My dog ended up dying there. Working in the medical field, whether with animals or humans, you should have more compassion and do everything you can to save ones life, and to put your patients and their loved ones at ease. If you can't say you did everything in your power to do so, you are in the wrong field!

We had someone there who was able to look her over and give us the terrible news. She did end up having to be put down due to a respiratory failure, but the staff was very sympathetic with us from start to finish and let us grieve for a good bit and gave us a small blanket to wrap her in with a cardboard box.
