I recently had my basement remodeled and wanted to share how things went because it can be hard to find reliable contractors these days. I came across Fix To Finish Co. after comparing a few different companies, and I'm really glad I went with them. From the first day, Chris was organized, professional, and easy to talk to. He walked me through the plan, answered questions without rushing me, and kept me updated every step of the way. My basement needed quite a bit of work--framing, new drywall, flooring, and some electrical--and everything was handled carefully and done the right way. The craftsmanship shows in all the details: clean corners, smooth walls, solid flooring, and everything lines up the way it should. They also kept the work area surprisingly tidy, which I really appreciated since the rest of the house stayed livable during the project. There were a couple of small changes I asked for partway through, and Chris took care of them without any drama. If I could give lower I would. Hired Chris to repair a ceiling. Seemed nice enough at first. Pricing seemed reasonable. We explained we were getting ready to sell the house and we needed to get it finished ASAP. Initially he got off to a good start, then a winter storm hit and it took a few days to get him back, perfectly excusable. Then the excuses started. Time after time he said he would be back out the next day. Never showed up or let us know why he couldn't come out. We again explained the urgency. He finally came back, did some sanding and added another layer of joint compound. He never came back to do more and totally blew us off. FOUR WEEKS. This after we assisted him to get his vehicle running again. When asked him to finish over this past weekend, he whines about how much an inconvenience it would. This dude then tries to turn it all around on me that I was being unreasonable. Needless to say, again he never contacted us or came back to finish or cleanup. I guess this is what I get for going with a low bid contractor, as the result speaks loudly for itself.​ read more

Worst contractor ever. Didn't show up regularly. When he did nothing much got done. Spent almost as much fixing his mistakes as we did paying him to do the job. Toilet leaked, put in the plumbing wrong. Used incorrect materials . He spent a day doing drywall and it was SO BAD when he was done he told me I could use his sander to smooth out the walls if i thought they needed it!!!! He didn't cover anything, or make use of the window in the bathroom or shut the door while he sanded. There was 3 inches of dust on everything I own in my bedroom. We were staying in a hotel during the time he was contracted to be working on the upstairs bathroom, kitchen and downstairs bathroom, but there was a rush on the upstairs bathroom so we could move out of the hotel. Every day he give us an estimated time he would be done and every day he would move the finish line. He would go to family functions, parties, etc. and not come to work. He would tell us I will have you in your house by Wednesday and if I have to stay till midnight, I will. Wednesday came he wasn't finished Thursday came. He said I'll be done tonight but he wasn't finished. Friday came he said I'll be done tonight, but he wasn't finished. Every night he would say I'll be done tomorrow. Next day, He would say I'll be done tonight, and he never was. Tomorrow never came. On a Friday mid-day he said he had to leave to pick up a sick kid so Saturday he was supposed to come and finish up the job in the bathroom upstairs, once again he never came, we stopped by where to check on his progress and found the toilet leaking, which could've started a whole new problem, we finally had enough and fired him. He got his tools then he decided to keep the deposit for the whole job. Even though he never did anything downstairs and got 40% of the entire job upfront. He wanted to come and get his tools and when my husband told him he had to check with his boss to see when he could takeoff to let him in the house to get the tools, Chris said we were trying to steal his tools and threatened to call the police! He got his tools the same day, but we never got our deposit back. We tried to keep communication via text, but he's ghosted us. When I told him I was going to take it to court he said he was going to pay me back, but then, of course he has stopped responding once again and we've never gotten our money. He's not only taking money from us, but from the insurance company. He said he's never had a complaint in 10 years of owning his company. I can't imagine that he's gone five minutes without a complaint. He would need supervision 24/7 to get anything done. He is completely out of sorts and can't keep his focus on anything long enough to finish a task. And he doesn't seem skilled enough to finish anything with any type of finesse. If you run into this man walk the other way or you may get a big dent in your wallet and an unfinished job site. read more

hired him to fix a belt on our washing machine. he did that then said something else needed replaced and he would do that for free the following Monday. he then proceeded to make excuses and then ghosted me. when I messaged again he claimed to have switched carriers and asked if I was a customer. when I explained who I was he ignored me again. would not recommend this guy. he left us hanging for months without any communication. also charged us to go get a belt when I told him it needed a belt. he knew and didn't bring it with him and charged extra to go get it knowing ahead of time that was the problem. read more
