I contacted the company and the woman I communicated with via email was rude. I asked if extra clips could be sent to make up for THEIR mistake, but she refused to do that. I am very disappointed with the quality of the product we received. It is a simple connection in my blinds to change the angles, each one costing almost $14. Didn't deal with customer service at all, but I placed an order online and got the part faster than expected, here in San Diego. Fit and worked great ! Instructions are decent online, but could be touched-up a tad especially about how much string to wind on the turning mechanism spool. They sent me a spool of cord to fix a shade. But they didn't bother paying attention to the details and so the cord they sent was too thin. Like anyone trying to fix their blinds I'm not an expert so I didn't realize the problem until too late. I spent a lot of time making the repair (not easy to thread the new cord through the locking mechanism on these particular blinds). When I finally got the blinds up I could see they'd sent me the wrong cord. Big waste of time. While I appreciate that the company responded, offering to replace the product, the problem isn't the cost of the product but rather the time I spent installing it. Restringing shades is a bit tricky but these particular shades are harder than average. So the problem was my lost time and frustration due to their carelessness. They did refund my money and made an effort to investigate the situation. read more

Spent way too much money on a specialized flat tape (lift cord) to repair an aged hunter Douglas "easy rise" cellular honeycomb shade. I ordered 25 feet of lift tape at a cost of approximately one dollar per foot and received 24 feet 9 inches. On top of that paid additional $5 plus for shipping an item that should have been shipped at close to half that cost. This company is a rip off. No doubt you will buy from them because there are few if any other opportunities to buy from anyone else for these niche products. Just know in advanced you will be ripped off. Next time I order new shades I will be sure that I have adequate access to suppliers to avoid companies like this. read more

I have used Fix my Blinds numerous times over the years to order repair parts for my customers. This summer my business account was hacked twice. Taking all money I had in there? My card was replaced and I then used new one again with Fix my Blinds, I was again hacked taking all money from my business acct. My bank covered but the amount of time it took me and to oversee and to wait for new cards never knowing it was as a result of them being hacked. Although I need parts I don't feel confidant in using them as like another customer stated we just got notified in Sept. May and June is when this happened. I went from clueless to expert in 5 minutes with their site. I had a draw string that began to fray and snapped. Shortly afterwards the tilt mechanism got stuck and figured it just needed more torque...snapped the mechanism's rod. Their site made it easy to locate the correct parts. I took a total of 4 measurements, the width and height of the headrail, tilt rod hole and the tilt mechanism body height. With that I had all I needed to identify a compatible replacement. The draw string matched the current set perfectly just going by their clear pictures. Went from inoperable blinds to functioning like new in 3 days including shipping. Kudos to whoever did their web design/backend as order confirmation, shipping alerts, etc. were all prompt and informative. Have no idea how good their customer service is. Though, for online businesses that's how it should be; I only want to contact someone if things go wrong. I much prefer things just don't go wrong and they delivered. read more

The Cord-Stop Assembly on our Hunter Douglas shade broke. A shade service (shady service?) company exactly a mile from our home was willing to come and fix it for $95 plus parts; they would not sell us the parts. That did not feel right. So we did some digging online and found Vanessa at Fix My Blinds in Colorado. She was very knowledgeable and immediately knew what we needed. Total cost with shipping was about six bucks. Ordered shades recently from Smith & Noble (should have checked Yelp first on that!) and one shade had the wrong mounting hardware. We could get no help at all from S&N and, after hours of calling and internet searching, find that NO ONE else carries S&N parts. Thank goodness for Fix My Blinds. I found their website user-friendly and detailed; all the dimensions for parts are laid out very clearly. We were able to find the mounting hardware we needed and they shipped it out the next day--just like they said they would. In 2 days, my shade was up in the window. I have an old Levolor mini-blind on which the wand that you rotate to open and close the slats had deteriorated over the years and finally broke off where it meets the metal "S" pin at the top. Fix My Blinds had the exact replacement parts, including the wand, pin, and plastic sleeve. Ordering was a snap, though I was a bit surprised by the high shipping cost. (If I added the shipping cost to the cost of the items, it still came out slightly cheaper than a similar item on Amazon even with free shipping, and saved me from having to shop at Amazon). After a bizarre 3-week delay (clearly not the seller's fault) while the shipment was held at the USPS sorting center (I think they had to check to make sure it wasn't a pipe-bomb or something), the items arrived and I then got why the shipping charge was that high. The items were packaged in a virtually bullet-proof cardboard tube, with sufficient packing paper inside to eliminate any chance of the contents being jostled. Everything in perfect condition, and my blinds are working once again. I'm very happy with Fix My Blinds and would happily do business with them again. read more

I am beyond angry. I ordered cords for my blinds and that went fine. But today, I've gotten a letter from the company alerting me to a "possible compromise of credit card or debit card information." This apparently happened back on May 23! That's four months since the "compromise" and over a month since my own credit card company froze my card, without explanation, and issued me a new one. What's worse, "FIX MY BLINDS" became caught up in an Internet ecosystem attack...(which)..."may have caused an infection of the web browser of your computer...(and) could have caused the loss of certain private information." Well, wonderful. The letter tells me to get a new credit card, change passwords, monitor my transactions... the list goes on. It will take me more time to handle this than it took me to order their product and fix my blinds in the first place. Meh. Fix My Blinds should have invested the management time and attention needed to secure their customers' data. But they clearly put their own excess profits over our well being. Unless you want your financial and personal information put at risk, shop elsewhere. read more

I ordered an impossible to find part (except for Fix My Blinds) for my broken blinds. Compared with the alternative of replacing the broken blinds all together, I think the price of the part was most reasonable. So reasonable that I bought 2 just in case it breaks again in another 10-15 years. With guests coming to town, this was time sensitive. Priority USPS got the part here in time for me to fix the blinds, and I dare say I would have considered paying more. The next time I need parts for a broken window covering, I'm starting here first.
