When my old A/C broke five years ago, I hired FixMyAC and they replace the outdoor unit and everything was good. The A/C still works five years later but the air started smelling musty, so I asked them if they could come to check. They gave me a time and a date for a check-up, and I accepted it. A two-hour appointment was made. On the day of the appointment, I took time off to attend the check-up. The 2-hour window passed and nobody came. I even called them a few times but no answers. 2 hours later they responded to my email with an excuse which I couldn't verify if that's true. They apologized and suggested another time, and I accepted it again. On the second appointment, I took time off and waited at home again. The window passed and nobody came again. No answers to my calls, either. I waited another 20 minutes and I left for my office. 10 minutes later, which is 40 minutes after the window, a text came saying "We are here but nobody answers the door." I'm looking for someone else now. read more

I hired these guys twice and had great experience with them. They're honest and replies quickly. They are a husband and wife tag team service. Price's are very reasonable. It just sucks when my AC system breaks down because it's 40 years old. There's just no cheap way to fix it. FixMyAC and Avi were fantastic with the repair of our AC unit. It went out the morning this recent heat wave started and since everyone's AC broke that day it was almost impossible to get any companies to answer the phone. FixMyAC responded via text at 11:45 at night and 5:45 in the morning and came out to diagnose our unit. Since the unit is old, Avi did not have the parts on hand and had to chase them down. The part we needed was not stocked and hadn't been made in over three years, so after FixMyAC trying to source it from many different dealers, AVI decided to replace the part with an updated one. At this point, I believe many repair services would have started talking about replacing the whole unit. During the repair, the AC unit would not start even with the new part. AVI was able to jump it to start but it wouldn't go with the new parts he had put in. At this point, I believe most repair companies would have told us it was shot and we need a whole new unit. Not AVI, he kept at it and tried a couple of different solutions and was able to get it working again (the unit and compressor were still good). FixMyAC and Avi expended a lot of effort to get us fixed, and did it at a reasonable price. Would recommend as an honest service that has a 'do it smart' not 'make as much money from you' approach. read more

My Mothers AC stopped cooling on Fri and I called a number of AC Repair companies (it was the Labor Day Holiday weekend). By Sat. I had not received one call back so I looked on Yelp and called Cecilia and Avi They were at my Mom's house before I got there. They are professional, funny very honest and they put on shoe covers on to protect the carpet. $95 later, they diagnosed the problem, showed us how to change the filter and gave us valuable info. about our AC unit. Just called to ask if there any opening/availability today to come to check my AC, the lady with very heavy accented English answered and won't give me the answer unless I gave her my address. I didn't answer at first and the lady told me she need my address first. After i gave her my address then she answer "unfortunately we cant help you at the moment because we have a big project, we can't help you and have to wait for several weeks!". WTH, whats the point asking my address if you know you can't help people because of the big project? AVOID! Perhaps they want to know your address because they have hidden motives? Some guy names Ted W emailed and asked me to remove this post or give this post 5 stars, said that I should thank this company for NOT coming. What the hell! Anyway my ac was fixed in less than 15min, only spend $150 for the service and the material, so thats why probably they didn't want to come, because I wasn't money makinf client for them ! I am so grateful for he team at Fix My AC!! I've been traveling a lot, and my daughter has been running the air non-stop day/night for the entire month. When I came home from a trip on Friday 08/22, I opened the windows at night to save energy and enjoy the (finally) cooler evenings. The next day, I went to turn on the air, and it just didn't seem to be getting cool. I'm no expert, so I started reading stuff on the Internet and tried everything - from changing the filters to checking for debris around the unit outside. Nothing worked, so I just suffered through the HOT weekend (mostly by staying out of the house), and I looked for options on Monday morning. Thankfully, Fix My AC showed up on my Google search, and I read every single Yelp review and gave them a call. When I called, I was told they would try to squeeze me in within 1-2 hours. Well, they arrived in 40 minutes, determined that the capacitor on my unit was bad, replaced it and confirmed the air was cooling - all within 35 minutes of their arrival!! When they replaced the capacitor, advised me that the motor may have been over heating while operating with a bad capacitor and to keep watch on it for the next week or so. They also told me that if the motor should go out, the price I paid for the capacitor would apply toward the motor replacement. Well, it's been a week and a half, and my AC is blowing well and feeling colder than ever. I can't thank this team enough. They were so very efficient, friendly and FAST!! I even posted on my Facebook page what a great job they did, and I would recommend them to any and all of my friends in OC (oh, and even to people who aren't my friends). read more

5 Stars all the way. These people are awesome! My wife called them 9/9/15 at 9am and they were out to my house by 1pm. Avi and Cecilia are very nice and pleasant to deal with. Both of them know exactly what it takes to give great service. We were having a heat wave in Orange County and we called them based on reviews from fellow yelpers because were were in bind with our existing AC company. Within 15 minutes or less, they figured out the issue with our AC unit and had it back up running in about 40 minutes. I highly recommend them. They are very easy to work with and fantastic. Honest and the price was very reasonable for the work and service they provided. This place totally gets the concept of the customer service and I would not hesitate to use them going forward. Just like what other Yelpers have experienced!! Super friendly, fast, professional, honest, fair, reasonable and the list goes on. Not sure if they are a couple, but sounds like everyone knows they are. In any case, they arrived on time, got a confirmation call before they arrived and went though a checkpoint checkup just like a car shop. These guys are really quick and tell you whats up by showing you so you dont feel like they are blowing crap up your ass. It may actually feel like they are not doing anything because they are quick and dont say shit that doesn't need to be said or identify fixes that dont require fixing. My AC/Heat pump stopped working (over 100 degrees outside, of course) and I went on Yelp to find an A/C repair company. They all had ETA's of 3 or more days. With a 3 year old and 6 month old, I would appreciate my A/C fixed in under 3 days when it's 105 degrees. I found this and called them. They were at my house in about 45 minutes and had the issue fixed in 10 minutes after that. They had the part on them (must be a common issue) and they were friendly, funny and had good conversation while they were on site. Saved their card, for sure! In terms of service, this company is great. Avi is such a nice, knowledgeable professional. He was able to come out very quickly to help me with a minor but painful (clogged drainage line) a/c issue in the middle of a record breaking So-Cal heatwave. But their business management is simply... unacceptable. The service was performed on 8/24. Once Avi finished up, I asked for the bill so I could write a check and was told "don't worry about it, we'll send it to you". I received the invoice via email 21 days later on 9/13. The invoice lists no instructions for how to pay (website, send check to this address, etc.). I reached out for instructions and received a response on 9/23 that I could mail a check directly to the business address. Awesome. I get a text 6 days later on 9/29 asking for payment status. I respond sorry, I keep forgetting to hunt down a stamp so I can send the check (who uses stamps and snail mail these days?). I mail the check on 10/5. On 10/7, I receive the attached threatening text. The text states that is has been 44 days since the service and that if payment is not received within 5 days they will place a lien on my home, which will cost $5,000 to remove!!??! 21 days to receive an invoice to begin with, then 10 days figuring out how to pay the thing because no instruction was provided, then to receive a threatening text because they haven't received a check immediately? All when I tried to pay for the service on day 1?? Might I add, this was a $145 service!! I am appalled at how this was handled. read more

Bad experience. The couple was charming and I thought I had found someone who combined old-word craftsmanship with new-word technology. Not the case. If you're not in a pinch, be careful about hiring them. My experience below: I hired FixMyAC to provide/install a completely new $22k system. Once they finished their install, the system consistently produced errors/problems/shut downs on a daily/weekly basis. I was patient for over a year as they tried to remedy the issues. But, after 66 emails, 73 phone calls/texts, and 10+ house visits, nothing has improved. I don't know whether the issue is incompetence or a lack of professional pride. The final straw was the water damage caused by an overflowing unit due to improper drainage setup. When the vendors came to assess water damage they identified multiple safety and efficiency violations with the A/C installation. City inspector came out and confirmed violations--cited us on five major issues. The AC equipment manufacturer was frustrated with FixMyAC and ended up sending a different contractor out to diagnose and correct the issues. That vendor reinstalled the AC system and it has worked perfectly since. I'm pleased the manufacturer was able to provide some guidance but I wish I could've avoided the additional $4k cost to reinstall the system properly. Not to mention the time/frustration needed to correct something that should've been avoided to begin with. read more

I never review anything, but this Company made me do it. I called on a very hot day around noon. They were the third company i had called. I was trying to get someone out ASAP to fix my ac (no pun intended). My bedroom is on the second floor so it is much hotter up here. Well, the first two ac people couldn't come out for 5-7 days. Fix My AC said they could come the same day. They are a very nice and helpful Husband and Wife team. They showed up two hours later and were gone in an hour after fixing my AC. I have to be honest and this was over a month ago. They made it look so quick and easy I wanted to make sure that they had done the job right. Well, my AC is still going strong. No more leak in my Master Bath. It also didn't cost me near what I thought it would. A bonus-they wear bootie covers over their shoes before coming into your home. Let's just say I really liked their efficiency and they were also very friendly. I read these reviews before calling...it's where I got their number and I thought they were too good to be true. I wish I could give a ZERO STAR because they never came upon appointment! I don't know why this is happening since it was the second time the second company we called to come and fix AC. Service was lame, or should I say "no service at all"? If you have an appointment and you can't make it, simply call and say you are sorry and reschedule. One can never ditch a customer like this, no coming and no calling. This is disrespectful and extremely irresponsible. I can see that people are giving all 5 stars here. I called Fix My AC as second opinion about 9 months ago. They arrived on time as scheduled. They took their time to listen to what I had to say, then they went to check my A/C system. They said they can fix it for $250. I was very skeptical about their diagnostic as they were company # 4 to come out. All the other 3 companies said I needed a new system. When I pointed that out to Avi, the tech on site, his answer was "If what I want to do does not do the trick, I will not charge you for it." What did I have to lose? So I said OK, go for it. After about 20 minutes he asked me to run the system from the thermostat inside the house. To my big surprise, the system outside started to work (what a nice sound!) and after 5 minutes I started to feel cold air coming from the vents. I didn't post my review until now as I wanted to try the system for a few months. I am happy to say it is still working. Fix My AC saved me thousands of dollars. They are honest, professional and friendly. I am not going to use any other A/C company as long as Fix My AC is around. read more

They are the BEST team ever!!!!! I called them last night (7/20) when I came home at 10 pm and discovered my AC was not working. Cecilia answered my call and told they will reach out the next day. Well, she emailed me at 12:40 am and told me they will try to come out the next day (today, 7/21/16) between 9:30 and 10:30 am. Sure enough, they were here on time, and they found and showed me the defective capacitor to be the culprit that disabled the functioning of the AC. A new one was replaced, and my home is COOL again. They are both professional, courteous and respectful of their clients'homes with wearing paper slippers over their shoes to avoid soiling our carpets and wood flooring. In the midst of a blazing hot summer, our AC stopped working. It was 100 degrees outside, even with the windows open and fan on high, our home felt like the inside of a bikram yoga studio. These guys (guy and gal, actually) were great! They showed up in the time window they committed to. They were super polite. They wore shoe covers to keep the floors clean. They were very forgiving of my annoying, barky dogs. And, oh yeah, they diagnosed and fixed my problem on the first visit with-in about an hour for less than $175. They fixed that pretty easily, and they also inspected the condenser unit outside and gave me some maintenance tips. My AC died on a Friday night in July on one of the hottest days of the year. I know Avi and Cecilia had a very long, very hot day fixing other people's ACs and they came out to my house at 9:30 PM and had my AC working within 10 minutes. My family and I were able to sleep comfortably that night in a cool house because Avi and Cecilia were willing to take care of one more customer that night. I can't thank them enough for that. Professional, honest, fair and reasonable. This is how I would describe Fixmyhvac. Avi (owner) arrived on time in the window given. A confirmation call was given to say he was on his way. The diagnosis was made, the part was available in his van, the repair was done quickly. Your hvac isn't something that goes out often, so when it does, you want to go to someone you can trust and feel you are not going to get worked over. I'm pretty frugal with a buck, and am not taken easily when it comes to repairmen. Avi seems to be very genuine and enjoys what he is doing and appreciates your business. I would not hesitate to call upon him again if needed, or recommend to a friend. I will dare to say that I don't think he will ever receive a negative review. He is that good! read more

This company came to my home to fix a leaking AC that was dripping outside my kitchen slider from the the second floor. They showed up on time, no waiting. They fixed the problem in a jiffy and I mean quick. It took about 20 minutes for them to diagnose and fix the problem. They charged a very reasonable rate or 125.00 when other companies I called quoted 325.00(crazy). This is not a fake review. I do not know this company or the people. I found this company on Yelp and they are definitely a 5 Star Company. I had a leak coming from an overflow valve during a recent hot spell. The appt. was scheduled immediately and once we described the problem to Avi he immediately knew it was a clog in the a/c drain. They knew exactly what to do and pricing was most reasonable.
