Daela Cosmetic Tattoo

4.8(57 reviews)

I initially chose Daela because I had an excellent experience with their laser treatments. Before…read morethis most recent visit, I had actually received injectable treatments there on two separate occasions with no noticeable results. However, because I was so impressed with the laser side of the practice, I wanted all of my cosmetic treatments in one place. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, believing perhaps the previous injectables had simply been an isolated experience. Unfortunately, after my third injectable treatment, I once again saw absolutely no visible improvement. From the moment I arrived, the appointment felt rushed rather than welcoming. No numbing cream was offered before the procedure, making the injections more uncomfortable than necessary. Upon asking for some numbing cream, while I was speaking, a foam-like substance was placed on my lips that went into my mouth, leaving an unpleasant taste and numbing the inside of my whole mouth. The entire appointment lasted only about 15 minutes, leaving me questioning how thoroughly the treatment had been performed. Most concerning was the outcome. There was absolutely no visible change whatsoever in the specific areas I requested to be treated, not even a subtle improvement. After three injectable appointments with no noticeable results, I felt compelled to share my honest experience and initially left a one-star review. Shortly afterward, Lina, one of the owners, reached out to discuss my concerns. My husband spoke on my behalf. During that conversation, I genuinely felt she heard my concerns. She offered complimentary laser treatments as a goodwill gesture, and I appreciated what I believed was a sincere effort to make things right. Because I felt my concerns had been acknowledged, I voluntarily removed my original one star review and replaced it with a four-star review. I did this because I wanted my review to reflect not only my disappointing injectable experience, but also the fact that I believed the business cared enough to address it. Unfortunately, that goodwill did not last. My husband then began receiving repeated harassing text messages telling him that I would not be allowed to use the complimentary laser treatments unless I changed my review again, this time to a perfect five-star review. He was told my account would be flagged and the complimentary treatments would not be honored until I rewrote the review to their satisfaction. That crossed a line for me. Reviews should reflect a customer's genuine experience, not be influenced by pressure or conditioned on receiving services. I could not honestly write a five-star review because it simply was not true. Money has never been the issue. I am happy to pay for excellent cosmetic treatments and exceptional results. What I cannot accept is paying for injectable treatments that produced no visible improvement and then feeling pressured to change my honest review in exchange for services that had already been offered as a gesture of goodwill. A medical spa should be a place where you feel pampered, cared for, respected, and confident in the treatments you receive. Instead, I found myself having to defend my experience, explain why I was disappointed despite seeing no results, and ultimately defend my right to leave an honest review. I appreciate that the owner initially reached out and attempted to resolve the situation. However, the subsequent pressure to change my review fundamentally changed how I viewed the entire experience. For that reason, this review reflects my experience in its entirety. I will be reporting Daela to the Oregon Medical board that regulates medical spas. I have decided to take my business elsewhere. There are many excellent providers for injectables and laser treatments, and I believe every patient deserves quality results, respectful treatment, and the freedom to leave an honest review without feeling pressured or manipulated.

I came across this shop while looking for places to get my first tattoo done, and they had good overall reviews on most internet sources. I was able to browse the work done by their various artists on Facebook, and was impressed by Spider's catalog, so I set up a quick appointment with him to map out exactly what I wanted. Upon entering the shop for the first time, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the building itself was very clean and welcoming. Spider was fantastic at helping me nail down the fine details of what I wanted, and I left the shop very excited about my upcoming appointment. Fast forward several sessions and many hours of work, I couldn't be happier with the results. The piece Spider crafted is beautiful, and exactly what I had envisioned when I first set foot in the shop for my consultation. The tattooing process itself was a pleasure. They have movies playing to keep your mind off the pain, and Spider is very engaging and conversational. Although I wasn't nervous and my pain tolerance didn't cause any issues, the overall atmosphere is very calming and would help even the most anxious of patrons feel safer. The work quality speaks for itself, as I've gotten many compliments from complete strangers. Originally I planned on going to other shops in the area for other work, but after my first tattoo, I didn't feel the need to go anywhere else. I've already had my second one done and am in the process of setting up my third. Overall a very nice shop for any customer, whether you're new to tattoos or have many already. read more

I have been getting tattooed at Five Star Tattoo for over 12 years. I'm 41 years old and I've been getting tattoos since I was 18 years old from award winning shops in 3 different states. Five star is absolutely by far the best! When I first moved to the northwest I looked everywhere for the right place after a bad experience at a local shop someone I knew recommended Five Star Tattoo. I didn't know a single person when I moved here but they immediately treated me like family. From the moment I walked in the door I realized the shop was so clean I thought I was in a dental office! I'm a professional artist myself now very well known around Washington and Oregon and enjoy Bragging about Spider, Levon, and Amanda. Having a perfect tattoo is extremely important to me because if it isn't perfect it will drive me crazy! ;) Five Star Tattoo has always been my cure for craziness! Can't wait for my next tattoo! All of you are true professionals providing unsurpassed quality, care, attention to detail, and cleanliness! It's what makes Five Star #1 Thank you Five Star Tattoo! read more

Went to Spider for my first tattoo, after hearing a mix of different experiences from other people who went to all sorts of different shops. It was something I had been talking about with him for a while--a deeply personal piece, something I have had in mind for a while, now. He helped bring it to life with his artistic vision, and I couldn't be more pleased. The atmosphere was really unique, very calm, with televisions on display to keep my attention on something other than my nerves. Spider was awesome, helped assuage my nerves, and was incredibly attentive as far as the size of my piece and placement. He really listened and helped me pick the best placement and alignment against my shoulder. It was a super relaxed, professional space. As far as the tattoo itself, it healed perfectly. The work is beautiful. The lines are crisp, the colors are lovely, and I'm so, so pleased. I definitely won't go to another shop. Five-star is the only place for me. read more

I've been a customer of Five Star Tattoo for 13 years and will not go anywhere else. The artists are talented and professional. Amanda is an amazing artist, everytime that I've gone to her with a vague idea of what I wanted (which is pretty much everytime) what she designs always exceeds anything I could have imagined. I have a sleeve, a large calf piece, and a top of the foot tattoo from her. I would recommend her to anyone and a couple of my friends have gone to her after seeing her work. Spider did my first tattoo the day after my 18th birthday. He made me feel at ease and comfortable while getting my hip tattoo. I have since then gotten a Wonderland sleeve from him. I didn't have an overall plan ahead of time, but he came up with all of the amazing parts to my sleeve and he tied then all together like that was the plan all along. read more

Five-Star Tattoo is the ONLY shop I recommend in the Vancouver/BG area. I truly appreciate this shop and the culture they uphold. Excellent people as well as incredible talent. Amanda Midland has been tattooing my husband and I for the past 8 years. We would never have anyone else create and execute our tattoos. She can take the simplest idea and create an intricate piece of art. Because of her extensive skill, creativity and tattoo experience/knowledge, I trust her completely and often ask her to simply free hand or create detail as she sees fit. I have never been disappointed. Though I've never had another artist work on me in this shop, I have been tattooed at several tattoo expos by Amanda and witnessed quality work by both Spider and Jamie. read more

I had my earlobes pierced by Levon earlier this evening. He was knowledgeable, calming, and his cleaning and sterility procedure was top-notch. I fainted after the piercing and Levon and another fellow there sat me on a chair and let me sweat it out and regain consciousness. Levon dabbed the cold sweat away while the other man blew on my face. Then they gave me a sucker. They definitely didn't have to take care of me like that, and that is why I will come back any time I need to have work done. Excellent experience. read more
