I had plans on Frisco but then found out there was another Portillo's down the street from me. Walking in and looking at all of the decor and set up were reminiscent of Portillo's in Chicago but with a Texas spin. The order counter is still there but added a few self order kiosks. The pick up window is down from the order counter and you wait for your number to be called. The Chicago dog, Maxwell St. polish sausage and the Italian beef tasted exactly as I remembered: delicious, juicy meat, tasty sausage and dogs were all top notch. This is THE place in Dallas and Frisco for that authentic Chicago food made famous all over America.

Went here for dinner. Got a hotdog meal, an Italian beef…read morecombo sandwich, and a chocolate cake slice. The hotdog was alright, I would give it an above average. The Italian sausage and beef sandwich was a let down, both the beef and the Italian sausage were pretty bland, and there isn't very much to a combo sandwich other than that. The chocolate cake was pretty good, but it wasn't interesting in any way. The frosting tasted exactly like the Betty crocker chocolate frosting you find in the store. The atmosphere was surprisingly good and well themed for a fast-casual joint and the service was good.

I really enjoyed the beef sandwich and I always get it baptize. I like to order extra dipping sauce with it so I can just drown it haha. My favorite are the hot dogs, which is what they are know for. I love the chicago style dogs and I love adding ketchup and mustard to my hot dogs. For the side I really enjoy getting a side of cheese and dipping my fries into it, thank me later. The onion rings are also worth a mention, they are well made, crispy and full of flavor. I also had their shakes before and they were pretty good. I once had their chocolate cake and it was very rich in flavor and not dry at all like other cakes. I always eat in the diner because I love how they have decorated the space. It reflects the history of the city of Arlington. It is a mix of car decor honoring the GM plant and part of the decor is also bowling, to honor the national bowling museum and headquarters located in arlington. I love how its so big and spacious. They also sell beer but I never purchase any but thats a cool concept. The staff keeps the place nice and clean, i love how they say your order number and make it rhyme with something. Example 'order #9 is time to dine"

I ordered a burger and fries got home had a handful of ketchup and exactly 3 individual fries. This is not the first time this location punted. It's getting old, really old. I imagine that across the Metroplex many orders are being jacked up as I type this, people who want to make more $ but slack at the gig. Let them inherit the wind. Yeah, I'm pissed.
