If familiar, you know I'm in the neiborhood. Place emphasis on the end of the last word. I feel like I'm home here. I feel the love, the vibe, visceral like muscle memory. Reminds me of the south end of my hometown. Not a chance the food would disappoint. Will finish this review when I get back home. For now, the cold has retreated, the top is down on the whip, time to get a little flossy. Was the food what I expected? Did I drive that far for ribs or for other reasons? Maybe a bit of both. In this part of the world, the city, hope is abundant but seldom rewarded. Poverty. Abandonment. Crime. We relate these to being over represented in certain zip codes. Areas progress leaves behind. That child politicians promise will not be left behind waiting for that to be more than a talking point. For that to happen, business people have to step in, open doors and not wait on politicians. This place sells truly great ribs. My pics do not do them the justice they did my tastebuds. More than ribs though, this restaurant is giving this area hope. Shiney, trendy, welcoming, good. Not many mainstream chains outside of Mickey D's and Jack N The Crack are willing to venture into areas considered food deserts. When a business such as this one, it's owners, choose to make such a bold statement opening ground up facilities on par with those found in areas well established by people with bottomless resources, you have to visit, respect, appreciate, but still be honest when reviewing. My aftermath pic showed you clean bones. I was sated, fatted, ready to plan my next trip back for the next plate. Right now I am just more impressed with the statement these "Two Podners" have made to all those leaders of Dallas, others business owners and most importantly the citizens that reside here in this food desert that an Oasis can be created. A community lifted little by little when we choose to support businesses that choose to support us. Their risk must be rewarded. Believe me, the food can stand alone as some of the best regardless, but the message makes it worth the drive by itself. I saw a slice of pecan pie that I had no room to fit in. Will return on empty next time to fit that and peach cobbler. Till then..

Inside there is no dining as the tables and chairs all are in one area and the bathroom is blocked. There is a place you can sit, but it feels empty. It looks really old and run down like things have not changed back in the 1976's when the place opened up and not so sure how much they clean the place up. The prices I can not complain about as they are cheap. I ordered the 2pc combo which comes with a drink and fries for $8.00. Be warned the food does take awhile to cook because they cook it for quite some time for 15 minutes as well as the fries. They do have daily specials which are cheap too in front, but I am sure it is everyday. The chicken overall is really good and I ended up getting a thigh, breast and wing an extra piece. Good thing they gave me that extra piece as the chicken breast was really dry and nasty that I could not eat the whole thing. The fries was good to. Since there was no in door dining and I was really hungry I ended up eating the chicken in the car which was a mistake as the chicken was hot and I drop it on my jacket and it needs to be washed to get rid of all of the grease. Other than that I would come back, but it is something where I could eat once in awhile as it was really greasy and my stomach did not thank me later.

However, I'm still a sucker for Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken. I was introduced to this fast food franchise a few years ago and it'd have to be my number one choice for fried chicken, to be honest. Ive tried two other Louisiana Fried Chicken in Dallas and theirs one were spicy asf lol this one wasn't which was nice but finding the center pink sucked. It's why I gave it 2 stars because although my order sucked, my partner still enjoyed theirs. Their order was a catfish plate and an order of two drumsticks. Their fish was thoroughly cooked and their chicken wasn't uncooked like mines. The service was alright, my order was taken and then I had to wait maybe 20 minutes? It was a little busy so it wasn't so bad. The ambiance was casual. You can't really dine in because there's no tables but there are a lot of chairs set along the sides of the dining area and their spread apart. It looks like they probably did it during the pandemic and then just kept it like that which I know a lot of business have end up doing and I guess cause it makes less work(?‍idk). At least it's nice and cool inside. The heat makes you annoyed but their AC was kicking strong. I will say that onn the side of the building, it reeks of piss and I know that's not the establishments fault because I saw that there were signs of a homeless person or persons probably nearby, so that was unfortunate but other than that, inside was clean and spacious. I would recommend trying their food just maybe not this particular one. They only have one register which I kind of find odd and at the same time I guess that it makes sense so that they don't take in more orders than they need to.

UPDATE(7/20/2025): I gave this place a second try and everything was perfect and nothing was missing. WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF POSSIBLE!!…read more This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had anywhere. I called in my order and was told I could choose my fountain drink when I arrived. Five minutes later when I got there, the same employee said the fountain machine was broken and then tried to require me to either pay for a fountain drink I would not receive or pay extra for a bottled drink. When I asked to simply remove the drink and pay for the chicken and fries that were already prepared, I was told they "don't sell that" and that I would not be served. After this dispute, the employee handed the food that had been prepared for my order to customers who were waiting in front of me and told me that my order was canceled. Shortly after, two customers came in and were allowed to order only chicken and wings with no issue, even though I had just been told that was not possible. I have video of this interaction. I then offered again to pay for the food that had been made for me. Instead of resolving the situation, the employee canceled my order and called the police even though no crime had occurred. Being refused service after attempting to pay the posted price, having your food given away in front of you, seeing other customers allowed to order what you were denied, and then having police called over a simple pricing dispute is beyond unacceptable. I recorded the interaction for my own protection because of how out of control it became. If you care about fair pricing, basic respect, or being treated like a human being, do yourself a favor and avoid this location entirely.

The pizza had the right amount of toppings and cheese. I also really liked that the crust was thin and soft (truly "NY style"), and it tasted better than most big-box pizza places. My main quibble with the food was the price and size of the pizza. For $11.50, the pizza is SUPER small, and on top of that the thin crust makes it not very filling. Overall this is a good choice for a quick (but expensive and small) bite when you are craving pizza, especially for the convenience of it.

My little sister and I went to Klyde Warren Park to enjoy the day and grab some food…read more I had been eyeballing this truck, because it clearly advertises gluten-free pizza on the truck. It was about 15$ for a small, gluten-free pizza (just add 3$ to the menu price for any pizza), which is about average price for a GF pizza. I would have tried a greek pizza topping, but my little sister was with me so we went with the meat specialty toppings. The worker in the truck let me know I could get GF crust with any toppings, because I wasn't sure since the picture on the truck only showed the margherita pizza as GF. The pizza itself came out in about 10 minutes, and was pretty good-looking. The taste itself was decent, nothing special or bad (no such thing as a bad pizza), but the gluten-free crust was too thin and cracker-esque, so whenever you take a bite it would break like a tortilla chip, which made eating it pretty messy. I'd be willing to try this again with a lighter topping, because my thought is that maybe having to cook all the meats through was too much for the GF crust to handle; I do go to pizza places with GF crust that can handle heavier toppings without cracking apart so that's only so much of a defense. Still, it was decent tasting, average price, and being next to such a beautiful location like Klyde Warren is a luxury. I'll try it again with different toppings, and update my review in the future.
