I wouldn't listen to the rest of the people leaving bad reviews. Iv been going for 5 years to the same person who is now the owner of the shop porshe. He always gives me amazing haircuts, I can be picky with my haircuts and has bounced around looking for barbers and Porsche is my guy. The vibe in there has always been excellent as well read more

I got from 5-6 haircuts in there and only 1 of them was good the rest are terrible. Lastly I went there and I had wait for 40min+ and there was barber that was free since I walked in. Never going back to this joke of barber honestly even great clips would be better option than this. Won't recommend this barber shop even to my enemies read more

Went in as a walk-in and waited over an hour. During that time I watch 6 barbers give mediocre hair cuts and beard trims. i watched 3 of the barbers just sit down in their chairs and play on their phones between appointments, usually for about 10-15 mins. So after the hour I left and probably saved my self a bad hair cut. Avoid this place if you want to save yourself time and money. read more

I KNOW I'M NOT A DUDE, BUT HEAR ME OUT! My boyfriend really enjoyed his experience and asked me to give them a Yelp review so here goes: At 6:00 last night while we were heading home from an early dinner, my boyfriend decided he HAD TO get his hair cut. He'd heard good things about Five Seasons and despite being incredibly busy, they were able to fit Matt in 30 minutes before close. Be advised - this parking lot is very tight and usually quite full. (Its a shared lot with Noodles & Co, Merry Nails, and another office space and often it's easier to park off to the side/behind Noodles.) The shop itself is clean and inviting. We don't drink, but thought it was neat that they offer free local beer on tap with your hair cut. We also noticed photography from local artists on the wall. Matt had an appointment for a hair cut and beard trim with Steve. It sounds like they were a pretty good fit for each other. But more importantly, Steve did a great job on his hair and beard. My boyfriend isn't very good at articulating what he wants done with his hair, but he was more pleased than I've ever seen him after a cut. He's still raving about the shave and already thinking about his next appointment! Great price, great service. Very friendly and laid back atmosphere. We will definitely be back. read more

Horrible experience. They are super arrogant and treat walk-ins like dirt. If you dont want to deal with walk in appts, then don't. Also, if you are cash only you should maybe put that on the door or wall. Just having an ATM up front doesn't mean anything. Except that you probably split the withdrawl fees with the bank. Lord knows in the THREE HOURS it took for a walk in I could have gone to the bank as well as lunch and the carwash. After the massive wait...the barber was rude and dismissive. My sons hair is going to have to be recut because this jackass insisted he knew my son's hair better than me. Not to mention he scraped his neck with the trimmers. Literally the WORST experience I have ever had. If you're not a hipster wanna be with an ironic beard give this place a wide berth! You have been warned. Wish no stars was an option. read more

Worst haircut of my 26 years of life wanted a low fade & he gave me a high & tight my buddy told me if he was me he would even wear a hat in the shower for the next couple weeks read more

I really wanted to like this place. It has a cool vibe and a beer tapper. It has real barbers...But, alas I think that I am done with them. First off, cash only? What is this, an IRS dodge? The first time I went in, back in covid days, nobody really asked me what I needed for a few uncomfortable minutes. Finally someone asked what I needed and I said I had an appointment with XXXX. I was informed he was taking a dump and would be back soon. Funny...Ha Ha.... I sat down and waited, watching the two barbers who were working doing their floor show. They were yacking back and forth, being amusing. The thing is, they would stop working to do it. One asked the guy in his chair some stupid question, trying to get him involved. The customer answered that he would agree if it got him out any faster... My first haircut was not good. But, I might chalk that up to bad communications on my part, and a BAD case of covid hair when I went in, so I tried two more times. The haircuts got better as I learned to communicate with this barber, but I still did not have it right. A couple days ago I called for an appointment and was told that my barber was not in that day and I should call back when he was in. Ummm, what? At any rate, I am pretty much done with them. They need to back off the cool vibe just a bit, and turn up the professionalism quite a bit. read more

I really had high hopes for Five Seasons, but came out stressed out and disappointed with my haircut and experience. I am new to the area and have been looking for a good place to have my hair cut. I had been to two other places prior, which were fine, but weren't quite the environment, location, or ability I was looking for (they still got good Yelp reviews :) ). From the pictures, it looked like Five Seasons could fit the bill. The second I walked in at Five Seasons, I did not feel welcome. I was asked who I had an appointment with like I was bothering them. When I was told who to go to, the guy who was going to cut my hair just looked at me strange, so I awkwardly shook his hand, set my coat on a chair in a ball, and sat down. Then, the gentleman that cut my hair only briefly asked me what I was looking for (sounding very uninterested), and proceeded to go to town doing something very different than what I had asked for. Since I was faced away from the mirror and he was going so fast, it was hard to provide input. It was also hard to give him feedback, because he did not seem to want to talk, and appeared to be in a bad mood. When I tried to re-describe what I was looking for, as calmly as I could in an effort to ease to mood, he literally just said, "you obviously don't like it, what do you want instead." This was literally right after me trying to describe what he could do to help me get it to what I was looking for. It was his first time cutting my hair, and I feel like it's expected to take a little longer. I was just looking for someone nice to work with me. At that point, he had me completely stressed out, and I just had to leave. The price was fine, as I would be willing to pay top dollar for a good cut, from a nice barber, and in a good environment. So unfortunately, Five Seasons was a horrible experience for me, and I cannot recommend their services to anyone, unless something changes with their business. P.S. I was offered a beer, but once again, my barber did not sound like he had any interest in actually grabbing me one; the barber pretty much sounded angry that he had to offer at all. read more

I'm sitting in a hotel in Texas right now and just made an appointment to have Steve cut my hair on Thursday. This Barbershop is number 1 in the city of Cedar Rapids. Every Barber is excellent and they treat you like you're part of the family while you're there. I'm guessing they figured out I don't drink since they stopped asking if I want a beer. It is there if you do. Word of advice to those who really care about getting a great haircut, take the time to be specific with what you want and expect in a haircut. Learn the language of your barber so, he has a clear idea of what you want. I travel a lot for business and I find that there are usually only 1 or 2 barbershops in a large town that are great. The great ones, listen to you. Cedar Rapids is not a large town, but they have a great Barbershop in Five Seasons. read more

Clean, friendly, and convenient. They are open till 7 on weekdays! Great for the working crowd. Believe it or not they are great with boys cuts. I saw one kid that was looking like a pro ball player after his cut. They are super nice to kids. My cut was very detailed, Jay "Jersey Jay" was friendly if not talkative. I'm very picky with my beard shape, so all the details were handled well, aside from exact shape I was going for. Still, above average. Well worth the money. Looking forward to honing it in on my next visit. read more

I went there and I was given a goatee trim. It took less than 10 minutes and was charged over $21.00 for it. Overpriced for the lack of quality given. Disappointed! read more

The atmosphere here was great ! The barbers here were very laid back and made you feel very welcome. Nice clean shop located in a nice area. However as far as my cut from Oscar went , I can't say I was pleased, I asked for a bald fade which I received , but the cut was very uneven , didn't cut off the top like I asked , and one side of my head that's supposed to bald like the other side, isn't. I'm not the type for any conflict so I didn't even say anything. I just figured I'll fix it myself when I got home. so I paid $22 for nothing. Needless to say if I decide to go back it won't be to sit in his chair. read more

My opinion of this place started going downhill the second I walked in the door. Hair on the floor is pretty typical for a barber shop, but this wasn't your usual mess -- it's piles and piles under each chair of more than one customer. So not only do I have to walk through all of that, I also now have random people's hair all over my jacket, which was on a nearby chair because they didn't have any hooks to hang it. And when they occasionally sweep it's just pushing it all against the wall in a huge pile off to the side so it can blow around in the breeze because they always leave the door open. And there were flies everywhere -- what's up with that? Plan on using the bathroom? Good luck finding it. And if you do, be ready for the half storage room half nasty bathroom that you find. I'm not expecting a lot of where I take a leak, but you could at least do something more than just have the dirty gallon jug of refill soap next to the filthy sink. And I get it that most places just put some random radio station on in the background because you aren't really listening to it, but for a barber shop to have Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and John Legend playing from a playlist on someone's phone is odd to me. This isn't Cost Cutters, I guess? And now, finally, to the haircut. Basically, how I looked going out was nothing like going in, and not in a good way. They took 1/4" off the sides, but closer to 1" on the top even though I asked for a trim -- do they think it grows at crazy different rates? My part got moved, which I didn't want or expect. Going in I had this pomade in that leaves your hair fairly soft; they sent me out with something that turned my hair into crunchy plastic cemented to my scalp. I looked less like a guy that works in an office and more like a used car salesman than I had expected. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

I never post a review of any place of business - but I felt this one needed to be done. Avoid this place at all costs! I'm glad I'm currently on vacation so I can wear a hat while I go out for a while until my hair grows back out and evenly. The barbers seemed to be more in to themselves than they are about the customers. They're constantly goofing around instead of focusing on the job at hand. At times they will walk away from their customers while in the middle of cutting their hair so they can joke around with the other people who are also suppose to be doing their job. On top of the constant swearing and lackluster service, I find this place ridiculously unprofessional. I'm only giving it one star so that the review will post - but it's not worth any star. Save your money and go to Cost Cutters or Sport Clips if you want a better haircut. read more

I moved to Cedar Rapids in January 2017 and I actually found Five Seasons on Instagram by accident. I wasn't even looking for a barber but I liked their work and decided to try them since I haven't found a barber I loved since moving here. I made an appointment with Zac and was pleasantly surprised to see that they had free local beer on tap from Iowa Brewing Company while you waited. A local biz that supports other local biz. Bonus. I showed Zac a few pictures of what I was going for and he nailed it after about 40 minutes in the chair. Very happy with the final product. They offer hot/wet shaves and beard trimming as well. I did not take advantage of that service at the time, but certainly will in the future. I prefer to support locally owned and operated business as opposed to chains, especially in the barber shop industry. The chain places I've been to always operate on a "quick turnaround" motivation and you don't get the care or attention you get at specialty or locally owned places. Much of the "small-talk" at chain salons is forced and awkward, but the atmosphere at Five Seasons is welcoming, everyone working there engages with you and makes you feel at home. They were all quick to offer me suggestions on things to do in Cedar Rapids as a newcomer. Overall my experience was a positive one and I will definitely be back. Great value and great service. Zac is officially my new barber. read more

Great people who genuinely care about their work! Very clean! Also every dollar supports local people.

I went to one of the barbers named Cody and I asked for a fade and a slight trim on top. When he was finished, he did not even fade my hair and he cut so much off my top and it left me with nothing to style it with. I cannot imagine someone who went to school and couldn't comprehend a simple fade. He put little effort and it shows. I would never come back. read more

Chris did an awesome job. He gave me exactly what I wanted and needed. He's friendly and personable, and I will definitely be back.

I got a haircut that was a 4 star a few weeks ago by Jay. Pretty decent cut. Good vibes. The reason the review is a two star is because today I went in for a beard trim with a different barber there and it was a 0...... I cancelled plans for the rest of my day out of embarrassment for my beard, drove home and shaved it all off. I now look 12 again. read more

I went to Five Seasons based on my son's recommendation as he goes there for hair cuts and to get his bear trimmed. I made an appointment and was told to ask for Zach. I had a short wait and when seated he asked me what I wanted. I asked for my head to be shaved smooth and for my beard to be trimmed (the first beard I have ever grown and I am not a young person). He used clippers on my head which left a stubble and then went to work on my beard. He trimmed it and had me look in the mirror, which from the distance it was held, all looked OK. When I got to the car, I inspected it closer and it was longer on one side than the other and was uneven on my chin. There was stubble above the trim line and my neck wasn't trimmed. When I got home, my wife looked at it and before I could say anything, the first thing out of her mouth was that it wasn't even on the sides or the chin. She then looked closer and there was hair by my ears that wasn't trimmed. I then did the only thing left to do and that was to shave my head myself and shave off my beard. Overall, I would say they were more interested in getting people in and out the door than listening to what the customer wanted. They were also more concerned with talking with each other than interacting with the person in their chair. A waste of time and money for the less than 20 minutes I was there. read more

Call me a gluten for punishment but I gave this place 5 chances and 4 of those times I walked out disappointed with my hair. Their side fades are great but the cut up top has been tragic. I've had completely wrong cuts, the direction of my hair changed, and the side I part my hair on changed. Very disappointed for supposedly one of the best mens places to go. Needless to say they've gotten the last of my money! read more

My husband just got back and I am very disappointed in his haircut. He has a colic that he told Cody about 3 times and still he comes home with it sticking straight up and too short to do anything with it. Can get that same haircut at Cost Cutters or Supercuts for a lot less. read more
