Typical Five Guys restaurant. Typical food and service. The restaurant was clean and we got our food in a few minutes.

Always a solid burger here. It is a little pricier than other fast food type places but I'd say it offers a bit of a premium. They do the patties on the grill when they are ordered so it's always fresh and not in a warming area. They're done on a flat top so there isn't as much of "flame" flavour but the grilled part does add to it. The meat they use is a pretty decent quality too - it actually tastes like beef! If you haven't been here before, you can customize your toppings. They have some high quality ones that are included in the price like grilled onions and grilled mushrooms. One other fun thing is that they have peanuts that you can help yourself to while you're waiting for your order. At this location they were located on the counter in a box. There are little trays where you can scoop them up. The fries are really a knockout. They are fresh cut daily and they even highlight where the potatoes are from. The locations in Canada source their potatoes from home. They have a signboard that highlights where the potatoes come from and can change on a daily basis. During my trip I saw that they were from PEI. If you're getting this to go, you will notice that the bag eventually gets soaked through in grease. It's definitely worth it every once in a while! read more

Can't go wrong with the Cajun fries + extra fries in the bag what more can ya ask for? I kept seeing a TikTok trend (yes I am a victim of falling in the trap) of grilled cheese buns and knew I had to try it out for myself. Short and simple, I. LOVE, FIVE GUYS. Even though its a massive chain that has seemingly taken the Toronto area by storm over the past few years, it's pound for pound one of the best chain burgers out there - oh and the equally endless french fries are fantastic as well. I have a standard order, the regular burger with cheese and bacon. Case closed, and a nap in my car after for 25 minutes while I digest. The one knock against this location was the temperature. I dunno of the thermostat was broken or not but it was 17C or colder inside, my toes were frozen in my shoes. This might have a been staff thing as I imagine it's hot behind those grills but I think we should keep in mind of dining comfort. Still an amazing meal! Eatcrest Out! read more

Staff is okay. Not great service but not terrible. The food is super good we love five guys. Even if it is a bit over priced.

Wasn't overly impressed especially considering the price! We ordered two "little burgers" and one regular cheeseburger, one order of fries to share, and two bottles of water. Total came to just over $30. The fries came in a small cup (pictured here) which were definitely not shareable. As for taste, burgers and fries were good but nothing overly special and they use processed cheese. Presentation was a bit of a turn off - looked like the burgers were manhandled before they wrapped them! I like that they offer peanuts in the shell to snack on while you wait - though we didn't wait long at all. Bathrooms were clean. read more

This place made me feel like Homer Simpson when he floats following a smell with the eyes semi open. While in the roof top parking of this plaza I couldn't kill the craving for fries, the smell of guilt was really strong, but I didn't know the devious place was Five Guys Burgers. I just wanted fries, but when I went inside I thought a hocho would help me cushion the coming spirits, so I ordered a $4 bucks sausage. To be honest, I rather pay $3 bucks in a hot dog stand on the street (where I can pick the nationality of the wiener according to my cravings), because the quality, flavor, size&thickness of their sausage (jeje) wasn't worth the extra buck. However, if we speak about fries, they do know how to make those, oh yeah. Really crispy, meaty, well seasoned and good looking... I went there for their smell and I don't regret them; just thinking about them makes me salivate. read more

You've been shopping, you know you're hungry! The smell of the cajun spice on their special fries is enough to get anyone excited to be in here, in my opinion. However, in the big good burger brawl of the two-thousand-and-teens, I prefer In N Out and Shake Shack to Five Guys. This being said, as you can tell by the star rating, I still love this burger. The atmosphere at this Five Guys location is pretty dismal, though. A little dirty and cold, so I'd recommend getting take out and heading home with your shopping finds, your decent burger and your super fries. read more

Five Guys Burgers and Fries deserves much better than two stars on one hand, but on the other, the more harsh critics have salient points. Five Guys has the dubious distinction of having a location in the Stockyards, which was a hulking, ugly directionless mess before Target cut and ran. Today the centre is a jumbled collection of minimal variety and empty storefronts. If you can deal with the Stockyards, Five Guys has a great burger. It is freshly cooked and generally better than any chain burger. The bun is fresh and toppings are generous. They also have great fries, but these are sold separately from the burgers and the fountain drinks. All three can run 15$, making it pricey, especially for the neighbourhood. One option is to skip the fries and eat the free peanuts that are abundantly available and useful while you are waiting for your burger to cook. The big negative here is that the place is often a mess. When you walk into a restaurant and it looks like no one gives a shit (dirty tables, peanut shells everywhere, drink station a mess), it doesn't inspire repeat business. If 5 Guys took more pride in its dining room (and subsequently respected its customers), it would be a viable contender in the higher end burger chain category, as well as the Chipotle across the parking deck. read more

Double Check Your Bills! I normally love Five Guys, but I had a bad experience at this particular location. I ordered a regular drink and the server handed me a large. I asked if this was a regular drink and the cashier told me it was a promotion. After I finished my meal I noticed on my receipt that I was charged a large drink. In fact, my entire group was charged the same thing. I know the difference is only 20 cent, but it's the principle. Caution to those who order at this location. First after reading the reviews I did notice the place was fairly clean when I arrived so that leads me to believe that the owner or management of this establishment did take note of such things. Ordered 3 burgers, 3 drinks and 1 large pack of french fries. Came up to around $40.00. All considered a separate order, which I am unaccustomed to seeing. No options for combos? That's how they really charge it up! Needless to say the burgers consisted of 2 thin patties and the toppings were listed at the cash so you couldn't miss out on all that they had to offer. I have to say worse fast food restaurant I've been too so far! The prices are a bit over priced but what bothered me the most is that I'm paying 10$ for a bacon cheese burger alone and I'm getting very very poor customer service, like at least smile or say have a good day!! Also, I had to ask one of the workers to please clean a table because they were all very dirty, the gentlemen rolled his eyes at me and asked someone else to do it, then she started sweeping the floors, that were also very dirty, napkins everywhere, while the restaurant was still pretty full, and blowing debris is the air! Simple, good pucks. Unlike South Street, the burgers are fried on the flattop, yielding a nice crust on the outside and a juicy experience on the inside. I added sautéed mushrooms, Carmelized onions, cheese and bacon. O don't understand why anyone would eat at McD's when a burger at 5 guys is so much better for only a couple bucks more. This is just an honest burger joint. Sure, I really enjoy some of the more adventurous, exotic burgers, but 5 Guys is just a foundational reference point for burger enjoyment. I don't allow a bad experience to turn me against a restaurant,in that spirit I decided to put aside my 2014 experience and return. The burger while richly done did not come on a Saugy bun, nor where the patties falling apart. I think it is helpful to note the restaurant was not busy this time as compared to the last. Staff where friendly, restaurant was clean food was hot. This restaurant will hopefully force the McDonald's down the street to hire better management. read more

FOOD: Their burgers and fries are BIG. - Fries - PRO: Fries have a good aroma and flavor. CON: The fries are kinda saltier than average, which is not a good thing but the flavor of the fries is really good so I like it. My suggestion is not to add too much salt on it coz it already has a good flavor. No need to overdo the salt. - Burgers - PRO: The burgers are amazing. I love that you get to pick your toppings and that they have Jalapenos. SERVICE: PRO: I love the service here because they wanna make it right for their customers. TERRIBLE. There was facial hair in our fries, fine. We wanted to alert the cashier for future reference to be careful. She goes "ok...? So do you want new fries?" I told her no, but I just want to let her know there was facial hair in there so they should be careful. "She said ok.." again. I left the fries on the counter because I was so disgusted at how she dealt with the situation. As I walk away she yells "can you not leave it on the counter? I gave it a 5 to help bump up the score because 2.5 seems too low for such a great burger place, especially in this part of town. I've never been disappointed at five guys. It's right up there with the hipster burger joints all across this great city. I get mine done as an 'all the way' cheeseburger with no sauces and mayo on the side. I was excited to try this place because it is very near by in my neighbourhood. I had also heard great things about the Five Guys chain in the past. However it was a huge disappointment. The burgers were not well seasoned and was tasteless. The fries had grit and sand in them and was almost inedible. If I had not done takeout and found this out at home, I would have demanded my money back. The place is run by teenagers who are clearly bored and not into their jobs. For starters, any burger franchise that has more American awards and nods plastered all over should come as a red flag for the authenticity of their claim to fame here in Canada. That advertising might also explain why they put two extra thick, extra gross Kraft singles on their overpriced, overworked and under seasoned slabs of meat. Last time I checked, I wasn't walking into a Checkers or Sonic state side where Kraft singles are the norm. For a whopping 8.00 dollars I expect a little more, or at least something real. Guess they never heard of the word "combo" either. Plus 6.00 dollars, plus 4.00 dollars, there's your "more." Cha-Ching! In terms of the staff and location, and like their burgers, a bit sloppy to say the least. As many others have mentioned, there's a bit of an attitude amongst staff and lack of work ethic. They may not want to wait on customers for that minimum wage pay check fine, but maybe they could attend to the floors to which are piled up with peanut shells and lettuce? Definitely not. Nobody is replaceable, right? Hmmmm....and really peanuts? Are we at a diner, a ball game or a bar? Or a zoo, which brings me to my next point. For the blaring music, and yes it's not just you, when you need a megaphone to place your order, it's too loud. There should be a health and safety regulation that applies to workplaces in regards to volume control or lack there of (that goes for you too footlocker). So in conclusion, now that I've had my first visit, I can officially say I won't be going back. It's simply not worth it, I can get a better seasoned burger for half the cost and minus the headache.
