I had the most amazing cheeseburger from Five Guys today! Perfectly cooked, juicy, flavorful, hot and delicious. This was a double patty all the way (lettuce, tomato, pickle, sautéed onions, sautéed mushrooms, ketchup, mustard and mayo). I didn't take a picture of the french fries because they're just a picture of french fries lol, but those were fresh, crispy, and hot! It was for other people in the restaurant when we got there so it wasn't very crowded. For reference it was around 3:30 in the afternoon when we dined in. The bathrooms could always be cleaner so I don't hold that against them I'm happy that the floor wasn't so slippery this time. The burgers are just okay. The fries are the biggest draw- at least when it comes to this location. They make shakes but they are so watery - regardless of asking them to make it thick. We made many visits to this location but we won't be coming back again. Our last visit was a big disappointment. For the first time at a Five Guys the burgers were dry. They also decided to get political inside which will make half their customers feel unwelcome. #1 rule for business - don't get political. We were going to give them another chance last weekend but since they still require masks (not required by CDC) to be served we decided to go elsewhere. I love Five Guys, but on one rare occasion earlier this year I was traveling and had a Five Guys experience that was less than the stellar experience I always have. Fast forward. This week I called my local store in Lawrenceville to place an order for pick-up and was literally overwhelmed by good service. The person who answered was upbeat and seemed truly excited to discuss their menu and to take my order. His name was Jacob and when he finished taking my order, I thanked him for being so courteous and professional and briefly told him I had recently had a less than best experience at another store. Jacob listened to what I said and when I came in to pick up my order he personally handed me my bag and advised everything was hot and up to Five Guys' highest standards. And he wasn't kidding. Everything was amazing! Just to note...When I walked into the store everyone was working extremely hard to push out orders and it was obvious Jacob is a natural leader. Pros: Clean facility, great staff, expedient service, good food! Cons: Only one, which happened to be in our favor as customers. The French fry cook was very sweet but I noticed that he was not consistent in the size of the fries he bagged for each customer. If you're looking to impress a date, this ain't it, but if you need a burger fix that's better than some drive thru joint, here ya go. A "little burger will run you $4.79 but nobody wants that. I went to this location with my best guy friend before we went to see a movie at AMC Colonial 18 down the road (check that place out as well). My friend and I decided to split a small order of Regular fries (They also have Cajun style, but I have yet to try those) and we each got a drink. Tip: A small order of fries is enough to feed two people if not more! I was particularly pleased with this location because of the service throughout our visit. The staff was uncommonly friendly and the nice girl who took our order was polite and efficient. She really knew what she was doing with the cash register and didn't hesitate whatsoever - very refreshing; often concerning service at places like this, with a lot of menu choices and inevitable confusion, orders get messed up in the process; this was not the case! The great service continued after we ordered. Our food was actually brought out to us! I have never had this happen at a Five Guys location before. Usually order numbers are called out and you retrieve your food from the counter, which I do not mind in the least. However, this untraditionally polite gesture stuck with me. This location was also very clean. Often, Five Guys locations are not the cleanest establishments because they are rough-and-tough burger joints with little decor, however this place was very well-swept and well-cleansed. Everything at the drink station was orderly, there were ample napkins, and there was plenty of ketchup, etc. very very nice to experience. As always, the food was first-rate. I can't describe the taste because it is not deserving of the limit of language. You MUST try this place if you have never been to a Five Guys before. It has been a long time since we have been to Five Guys as we feel the quality of food we get for the price, we can get much better elsewhere. We had offered to take our neighbor out for lunch for her birthday and she wanted to go to Five Guys. So the 3 of us went to Five Guys for lunch yesterday. When our food arrived, part of our order was wrong. Our neighbor had ordered a bacon cheese burger, but never received any bacon on her cheese burger although we were charged for us. They corrected this problem. Good thing we ate at Five Guys rather then taking our order to go. We were willing to give Five Guys another try in the future until we had checked our bank account this morning. The charge went through our bank account, but upon further checking, Five Guys did a double dip into our bank account, a "pre authorized" charge for the exact amount they had already taken out of our bank account. This certainly did not set well with us, especially in this rough economy when money is tight for many of us. Many of us are struggling to make ends meet and there is no excuse for Five Guys to take extra money then what we had authorized them to take. If we ever decide to go back to Five Guys, we will be paying cash and not using our Debit card. We have never experienced this before with any other place. This is rather shady of Five Guys. We rarely go to a burger / sandwich place because I am gluten intolerant. We decided to try this place after hearing they provided a nice lettuce "wrap" in place of the bun. It was an adequate alternative and the burger was excellent! The fries were fresh and very tasty. And the Large size serving could feed a small country! This restaurant is very clean, including the men's bathroom. Also very much appreciated the designated, handicapped table in the midst of the dining area. Perhaps the only "complaint" is that the food is a bit pricey. Service was friendly and great and food was exactly what we went to Five Guys for, a delicious burger and fry splurge. The reason I took the time to write this review is because I left my cell phone there, although I didn't know where I had left it. I walked in about an hour later in tears asking if they found it and they were SO nice! The cashier walked to the back office and came out with it - I wanted to hug her! Seriously, the phone is a relatively newer model and it would have been super easy for anyone to pop the SIM card out and make some quick cash on it.
