Came here after a disappointing dinner that left my stomach still growling in discontent. I must admit, despite being born and raised in America before immigrating to Wales, I've never tried Five Guys before. It wasn't my fault, I totally would've but I didn't think there were any branches where I lived.
So you can imagine the irony of how the first time this American has Five Guys is in Cardiff. Regardless, it was something I really looked forward to.
~ Atmosphere:
The decor is nothing special and is reminiscent of In N Out in California. However, one thing I've noticed is that this place is constantly PACKED! And I mean, unless you get there on opening time expect to queue up. Thankfully, there's plenty of seating including a small amount of tables outside too. However, I do have to say that the high-rise stool seats are really uncomfortable.
~ Customer Service:
The service was very quick and efficient, so don't be put off by the queue - it doesn't take as long as you would think! The cashier was very patient with explaining how the menu system works (such as the different toppings you can choose).
~ Food:
Delicious! All their ingredients are fresh as well. I mean, they even have their sacks of potatoes in the dining area. Apparently, they're really against freezing anything so you can bet that everything you're eating is fresh. It really shows in the taste as well because their food is delicious! Orgasmic burgers, crispy chips made with freshly cut potato, and that peanut butter and vanilla milkshake I had was to die for.

The only complaint I have is that I think it's horribly overpriced. Don't get me wrong, it's filling and delicious. But a regular sized milkshake costing nearly £5 is a bit much in my opinion. Five Guys will probably be a once in a blue moon kind of place for me. They're not fast food, but for some reason their prices are as if it's gourmet. read more
