With 20 taps, Stadsbrouwhuis is one of the latest and greatest additions to the Leiden craft beer…read morescene. Their beer selection reliably features several conventional Brand beers, but venturing beer geeks will surely find a brew they've never seen in one of the quickly rotating taps. In addition to serving up a variety of local and international beers, Stadsbrouwhuis also brews their own tasteful ales. Though their (very affordable) vegetarian dishes won't fill you up for a night of drinking, their crunchy and thickly sliced French fries do a fine job. We've only seen (rather than tasted) their other food from a distance, but everything looks like a well-made and inspired fusion of styles. As for their snacks: they're on the pricey side but very generous. Finally, the friendly staff is always excited to help you in beer-mergency situations. And in the rare occasion that their descriptions don't trigger your taste buds, you're always welcome to have a free taste. All in all, Stadsbrouwhuis is ideal for adventurous tasting and memorable conversations. But if you just have time to drop by on your way to a social event, be sure to pick up a swing-top bottle that's filled with anything from tap.

After months of anticipation I one day found myself across the street at Café Ledig erf (review will follow, not a fan) with classmates as a little goodbye "thing" and then suddenly saw it: Meneer Smakers Ledig Erf! It's here! It's open! I immediately texted le boyfriend about having burgers as an early dinner, but he had plans and luckily my two besties were sitting beside me and had time for an early dinner. In fact it was perfect for them as one still had work and the other had plans in Den Bosch. Thus a three-way burger date was born! Now, how does Smakers Ledig Erf compare to the original Smakers? Well, it has everything you already know and love about the original Smakers; great food, great people, great interior design and adds a new elemant; loads of light and space. The Smakers family is a consistent one which means that whether your on this side of town or more towards the centre, you're never too far away from an amazing burger now!

Well plated, fries are great. Chef Charles is imaginative and bring a real Brooklyn vibe to Amersfoort. The meat is good and flavorful, cooked to order. Bun and all ingredients are fresh. Second, even though it looks like they serve beer, they don't. You have to go next door to the pub. The pub doesn't serve food, but the restaurant will deliver your food to the pub for you. Confused? Welcome to Amersfoort. Don't go by anything preprinted because they won't have it, just ask what's on that day. I had the Jawa Jawa burger and it was good. The bizarre half and half business arrangement and surly locals may put you off, but if you can soldier through all of that, it's worth it.
