It has been years since I went to a Five Below, so when the kids and I were in the area once, I thought it would be fun to stop by here and have them check it out. I fully expected them to find a few fun trinkets that I wouldn't mind spending five bucks on.
Well. They found a million fun trinkets priced at five bucks. And ten. And fifteen. And beyond. I had no idea (or I didn't remember, at least) how PACKED this store was with toys, puzzles, stickers, candy, and all kinds of gadgets for people to waste their money on. Appealing for kids? Absolutely. Appealing for my wallet? Nope.
We ended up leaving with over $100 worth of junk.
Never again.
The Bluetooth headphones we bought don't charge very long. (There is an entire section in the back of the store for electronics and such, just so you know.) The inflatable pool I bought (which I spent $25 on) already had a hole in it right away (so we only got one summer out of it and I had to re-inflate it almost every time). I don't even remember what else we bought -- the kids don't play with them.
If you need cheap junk, you'll find it here.
Your kids definitely will. read more
