Junk store personified. So much fun.
    Karla D.

Look Five Below is the bees knees of all junk stores. But it's good junk. Right? Nothing over $5. Two pack of Marvel socks for men, $5! Same ones were $7 a pair at Target. It's such a fun place no matter what age you are. I do admit lots of times I will leave there with more than I need. It's also my goto for treats before going to the movies. $5 movie candies for $1! I go in there and it's like a disco of toys, treats, household stuff, tshirts and more. Seriously I expect to hear "Saturday Night Fever" blaring from the speakers when I'm on a whirl-wind shopping spree.

It takes some time to browse through everything they have. They've got just about every little trinket and small toy you can imagine. I was just browsing away and picking up just about everything I came across. Examining it, reading the explanations on the package, and of course I played with it, they are toys. I had completely forgot why I came in here until the lady working the floor brought me back to reality. Once I said I was looking for noise makers, she went into a frenzy much like that of the Tasmanian Devil and when she stopped, there was a small collection on their best noise makers. I mean I ended up getting a slide whistle, kazoo, and maraca, just to name a few. It's nice to have a store like this around. It draws you in, tells you to calm down and take a breath, and reminds you that when life gets a bit hectic, sit down on the floor and give that top a spin.

Four levels - yep, FOUR - of nostalgia!! Such a terrific collection of games, books, tapes, CD's,…read morefigurines, posters, comics, vinyl, collectibles, etc. you would be hard pressed not to find something that doesn't make you go, "I remember this!" Each level has different elements. There's stairs, as well as an elevator to access all levels. Prices seem reasonable for the things that they offer. Everything is well kept and in protective sleeves, etc to preserve it from getting worn. Every employee was pleasant and friendly. Not sure about parking as we walked. But, it's super close to the Heinz History Center so could easily walk from there. Well worth a visit!!

I've been a patron since the squirrel hill days when I was in grade school and I was always talked down to then and now. I highly recommend to Avoid record store day at eides because they don't like selling you vinyl because you go there one day a year or 2. You have to be a constant customer for them to sell you vinyl you want. They hold vinyl for people their friends and staff. I came to pick up vinyl one time I ordered and they sold it to their staff. If you're not a regular don't count on getting what u want. You can't carry records and look around you have to buy them right away or they will take them back and sell to their friends. Even if you went for years and spent $100s of dollars it means absolutely nothing. I would find a new place to go where the workers actually talk to you and let you browse and treat you like a customer should. Other people go once a year but for some reason I'm. Always singled out and I spend the most money there on record store day. I can't help the fact that I have a terminal illness and trying to get disability and I still get treated like shit. They know I have physical and financial limitations but that's always ignored. It's money money money. If they don't stop treating customers like shit especially a customer from the 1980s I'm done buying anything there. I get enough horrible things that happen to me outside of eides. If you have a question if you call them they don't like they will hang up on you. The store is struggling enough but they chose to do things that will close this store sooner than later. The customer does not come first! They actually took records I was buying from me and fold them to their staff! Who does that! If you browse with records in your hand they get mad and ask you put them back so other people can buy them! Wow talk about rude! I was waiting for money to be deposited in my account and they were so mad becsuse they wanted their money then and now when I was buying like $400 worth of music!

I don't know what it is that makes us forget that this is a normal feeling to have. You are allowed to have a toy, god knows I have several mementos I have held onto that remind me of simpler times. I came in here kind of on a whim. I almost forgot that this was here. I was out picking up items for a gift I was putting together and decided that maybe stopping in here would offer me a chance to find a few more items that would tie it all together. It was odd. I walked in here and before I could get my bearings I had someone literally pop up out of nowhere to ask if I needed help. I told them that I was looking for items for a gift and when they asked me the age range they didn't bat an eye. Especially since it was for someone well into their thirties. "Upstairs." They weren't wrong, upstairs was like a walk down memory lane. I browsed through all the toys that are considered vintage now that were brand new when I was young...when did I get to this point? I browsed and browsed and browsed until I almost forgot why I was here, I wanted to buy things for myself. The one thing that could use a little work is that they might want to quicken up the check out process. There was only one other customer in here besides me and it took forever at the register.
