What I love about this gym is that there are no roid munching weight lifting types that make you feel intimidated. No Gym Princesses, and no fakery. Everyone Ive met who goes to Hips is a lovely genuine person. The Best thing about it though, is that once youre a paid up member, you can go to pretty much any of the classes for free. Pump, Bootcamp (go on do it) box fit.. pilates.. yoga... Recently renovated, they've managed to fit in a heap more machines. Treadmills, eliptical striders. cross ramps, rowing machines, bikes, stair climbers. and a full range of weights. Owner Richard is genuinely interested in how you are traveling with your fitness goals, will get to know you personally, and is dedicated to running some of the classes such as Boot camp. You can pay your fees weekly or monthly too with a direct debit system. They offer personal training as well.

It's only a small gym, with a single room for machines and weights, as well as a studio for various classes and stretching. Week nights after 6pm can get packed but I've never had to wait long for a machine. It doesn't have the "extras" of bigger gyms, but this is reflected in the VERY reasonable membership fees (almost 1/3 of some big name businesses) which include unlimited entry to the gym and classes .

Great range of equipment. Even though the establishment was being renovated and upgraded the atmosphere was good. Although the music could have been louder.. Lol staff again was awesome stealth with a couple of muppets very nicely. Over stayed nine minutes lol but the staff were very cool. Very welcoming! Very honest. Didn't try to force a membership down our throats. Even though the gym had very little boxing gear they were still very accommodating. I recon I'll join full time after the trial is done coz I'm interested in the finished product! Can't wait to watch it grow... Good job guys!

They have a lot of open space for training, the facility is big, but not too big, the staff and members are friendly and, in general you can get everything you want DONE. Like, you're not waiting on equipment/machines, everything you need is there, blah, blah, blah, happy days. And they have a STEP MILL, as in like, a rolling staircase contraption. I hate cardio, but that is my favourite thing! Step mills are like unicorns in Australian gyms. When I first saw they got one, I had to control myself from doing a little happy dance, lol. I get annoyed when I want to use it and there is someone on MY STEP MILL. How dare they. Maybe the gym should get another one or two, eh? :) They have these boxing classes I never do and "quickie spin" or something (I also never do it), but not a full array of classes, which since I never do classes, I don't give a shit about. But it might be a bummer for you if you really like that kind of thing.

I was made to feel like i belonged from the get go. The coaches are dedicated, friendly, enthusiastic and FIT. They have the ability to read and assess each member individually and program and coach according to this. You just dont get this anywhere else. The variety of workouts is what will keep you going back. In the 1 1/2 years i have been attending i cant remember doing the same workout twice. Variety, working different muscle groups, high intensity, short duration- these are the elements that get results. I was never a really big person, but i loss 7 kgs, developed muscle tone and finally have a sense of pride about the way i look. I have never felt like this before. Whether you are just looking to get fit, learn to be able to lift weight, climbs ropes, double under, triple under, muscle up, kip, back flip, handstand walk or go to the world championships i would hands down recommend CrossFit Brookvale. I am seriously amazed at just how friendly, knowledgable , passionate and educated the entire team are. In addition to a kick ass PT(Nerida) they have Bio Signature and ART experts so for me they have become a one stop shop of a holistic approach to feeling great! All well and good to rave about the people, but what about the results? Most exciting of all is that in only 4 weeks, Not only have I lost a full dress size with only one dietary change, I have lost more body fat (and gained more lean muscle) then I had in my previous 3 month PT . After years of struggling to lose body fat and gain muscle this wonderfully supportive and talented group of Professionals have me achieving results I am proud of, and enjoying myself every step of the way., so for any of you looking to achieve levels of fitness you have been chasing unsuccessfully, I cannot recommend them highly enough.
